I personally believe that David Coverdale has had the best luck when it comes to having the best guitarists in his band. He's had John Sykes, Adrian Vandenberg, Vivian Campbell, Steve Vai, Doug Aldrich & Reb Beach.... man what a line up!!!!
What about David lee Roth he had Vai and Jason Becker he also was in that other band that changed the world personally Coverdale is my favorite metal or rock singer along with Rodgers but I feel that people forget about Jason Becker and David lee Roth
He supposed pays well and cares for his guys better than bare minimum. I know he fired the whole Sykes lineup inexcusably, but I’ve read Interviews with him where he talked about not making plans unless he was sure he could take good care of his musicians.
Comparing musicians with the mindset that one is better than the other is such a colossal waste of time. They're BOTH excellent and accomplished players. They're BOTH widely respected. And they BOTH have something to offer.

After watching this, I'd say Doug's alternate picking chops are cleaner and faster, but Reb's tapped legato runs are as flawless as ever. They're about evenly matched, even if they excel in different areas.
In my life, I was inspired by many guitarists. One of them is Doug Aldrich and Liv Beach. I still can't forget the shock of hearing Bad Moon Rising's first album. Doug played a very different style on the album. Modern, dramatic solos and sensual riffs. I've been watching him ever since. After White Snake sent John Sykes, I didn't think they would have a better guitarist than Doug. But it has become a reality. To me, Doug is like the last Bastion to inherit the romance of 20th century hard rock. Doug will inspire me until the moment I get older and can no longer hold the guitar.
Revisited this video after many years. Still an awesome video and so cool to watch. Two totally different style guitarists in Reb and Doug, yet they blend so well together!

James Wellington im a fan of both guitarists and reb is definately a tapper sequence player, Yes doug is more of a pick shredder but Reb has advanced tapping techniques and passages that blow my mind just like Dougs scale ripping does, David Coverdale knew what he was doing when he paired those two togethor, RB similar to Vai's style and Doug A. is like the John Sykes type player :) Enjoy em both \\m//
Guys... they're both getting paid lots of money to do what they love. Every player has their own style and sound, but these two guys can hold their own. Glad to see them having fun and that's all that matters.
Dougie's a killer, what's not to like? I have never really followed Reb's career but he sure throws down here! Pretty amazing clip from a couple of dangerous gunslingers!

How that 1st guitarist creatively compensates on a trem- less Paul is amazing. And that 2nd guitarist rewrites the manual on whammy-bar- ness. What a concert within a concert!
Great... I was on Brazil's Sao Paulo show(same tour)... Almost TOTALLY DIFFERENT solo!!! Pure improvisations... In words of coverdale: "If you don't feel it you can never understand..."!!!!
Doug Aldrich is a incredible guitarist, I grew up listening to his work with Dio, Doug and Randy Rhoads were so much better than anyone else in there time, honestly I can't decide who is better, Randy or Doug, both incredible 🤘
Best fun jamm I've seen in awhile. I don't like to compare them against each other as well, but focus on a fun jamm. This looked like fun! "Steve Via" always seems to take it out of the stratosphere though. A wicked man..
that's what i said...and Randy is probably my fav guitar player No.1,he inspired me to play classical.Doug is an awesome player and already created smth of his own style.
Two totally different style players.I like Doug, very consistent with his chops.Love his tone. He got Reb on that you just cant beat the fat tone of a les paul.I did notice that Reb wasn't anywhere near as loud as Doug.I think that Reb was holding back also,I have seen him do some very impressive sweeps that he didn't do here. They both are great but my vote to Reb,Probably because I have Loved his playing for a long time.

I don't really think I could say who the better guitarist is. They both have their own unique talent and style! I liked how at the end one guitarist was shredded and the other mimicked them, not very many guitarist could do that.

I practically fractured my hand trying to do Doug’s thumb totally behind the fretboard technique.. I’m old skool and wrap my thumb over the top of the fretboard…

Good Point there, I think ist rather the pickups than the guitar itself. Of course, it is technique, feeling and a great sound what makes out a great guitarist. ...and then you have to stand the comparison to Blackmore-Hendrix-Page-Clapton-vHalen-etc...
I enjoyed watching what they each bring to the table. Aldrich is an animal in so many ways, and Beach is uniquely talented. I'm not going to partake in a dick measuring contest between the two. It's nice to see so much talent on one stage.
Doug has this Zakk Wylde thing going on which is cool, but I prefer Reb's tapping which has such a smooth legato style along with his choice of scales/modes. Reb's a monster of a player.
I personally believe that David Coverdale has had the best luck when it comes to having the best guitarists in his band. He's had John Sykes, Adrian Vandenberg, Vivian Campbell, Steve Vai, Doug Aldrich & Reb Beach.... man what a line up!!!!

Yet he had Joel Hoekstra.

When Reb is tapping I can't help but hear Winger. Very distinctive sound.
I have always loved, and been made fun of for loving, Winger. Reb is such a beast.

One of the best things that can ever occur on this planet is a good old guitar dual with a crowd to witness it!
Talk about winning the "born to be a rock star" lottery. Doug Freeking Aldrich!

Two masters at work.
Two gifted musicians complimenting each other without saying a word...PRICELESS!!
i absolutely love this. great stuff
The best duo guitar of the last years...
yeah they are both incredible shredders. great show they put together here
To do this kind of thing live is next level. Seriously amazing. I will always love Reb Beach. Top 5 for me, easy but Doug's a master too.
First saw Winger at International 2 in Manchester touring with there second album. Loved them ever since
They was the strongest twin guitarist in Whitesnake all of history
Love your music forever your awesome 💯❤🎸🤘

I could watch these two guys all damn day!
Reb' s so smooth an tech oriented as Doug is a full aggresive shredder
They both have their thing. Their both fun to watch. And they both seem to be very cool as well.
Both are amazing in their own way! Great show to see!
Reb is over-talented for Whitesnake's music, and I like Whitesnake.
James Wellington Music is a matter of taste, but Reb's technique is so so superior. Doug is extremely limited to pentatonic Hard Rock.
James Wellington And those couple scales make him great? Hahahah You need to practice kid. Save the names calling, that speaks very bad about you.
James Wellington Whatever you say......

For me, Doug Aldrich easily first. He has managed to create his own distinctive sound. Just by listening you can easily tell it's him.
GOD Bless You 🎸🎸🎸

Everytime you see Reb put that face you know he's in trance and about to put that guitar to work
I believe Doug could be the closest to Randy Rhodes by comparison. His half step bends are so soulful and flowing.
I love them both, but on his best day, Randy couldn't polish Doug's guitar case. Doug is on another planet.
Agree. He is one of the best.
Different styles, equally great. Doug's a rock star. Reb's a whiz kid. They're a great pairing.
Whoever is in the lineup with White Snake, you can always count on great guitar playing. Love to hear Reb and Doug... Hoekstra is great too.

Bill, not a volume difference , Reb has fewer midrange frequencies , his sound doen't cut through the mix as well as Doug's.
The Beast Of The Best
I like to hear doug on the clean channel .....lol
If i had their guitars and their talent i could easily play like that and the picks those are really important.

Incredibly beautiful Suhr here.
both talented artist but I'll pick Doug any day, super nice guy if you ever meet him.
Reb the better guitar player, Doug is the better performer (excellent guitar player himself).
How can that be Reb? I though he has curly hair and looks 16 years old???
Yeah maybe 20 years ago!!
Reb is the man
This is killer, but it's a shame we can't hear it in well mixed copy. Would love to really HEAR the dynamics btw the guitar and amp , per player.
1:40 these guys have too much spare time to doodle with their guitars at home to come with this shit...good shit that is.
