Not everyone bought this car new man. Alot of used dealerships sell these too, once you sign papers they can care less about what you know and dont know about the car.

Brittany Dawson Well yeah if you purchase it from BMW brand new it'll obviously say it. I bought mine used, from a dealership with a lot of BMWs, I wouldn't doubt they reuse pre-typed lists of features cause they're too lazy to put accurate ones. I believe on their website it said I have heads up display when I don't.
Brittany Dawson no the heated rear seats come with a lighter. The cold weather package is heated front seats and steering wheel. The back seats and lighter are an extra option in true BMW fashion lol

Nicely presented video. Wouldn't have said heated steering or comfort access trunk were hidden features but like you it did take me a long time to realise that my shortcut keys were touch sensitive. Tip - if you really never use them, you should set your '1' key to your home address on the nav. That way wherever you are you can just push a single button to point you home. I also have '2' set to trip computer because I use it a lot and it saves scrolling to to vehicle information every time.
I've noticed on the 5 series and above, a lot of chauffeurs watch their DVD players when parked waiting for their passengers for a long time.
My car doesn't have headlight washers but from the look of your video they really are a waste. So much fluid used and what a mess!

You can also map the radio buttons. Just go to any function on the iDrive system and hold the button you want to map it to (you have to have the desired function highlighted not selected)
I currently have a 330i e46 and am looking to get a 2017-18 F30 after college.. your videos basically topped my love for them. Keep up the work homie!!
Def keep that e46, especially if it's stick. Would be a nice project car or to test out new treatments for the f30 or to practice changing wheels

I found out about heated steering wheel by accident. Now I feel like I can’t do without it I’m on my second BMW now and I love it
Also, if you hold the unlock button on your f30 key fob you can engage summer mode, rolls down windows opens sunroof ( if applicable), holding the comfort access locking pad on door handle closes everything up when your done.
Also leaving your side view mirror selector switch in the left mirror position engages a curb view assist feature where your right side view mirror rotates downward to face the ground when reverse is selected.
Yea I also realized about the summer package it’s actually pretty cool. It worked on my E46 318I, E90 320I and now my F90 320I. So I think it works on all BMW’s.

wow i've had my 06 330xi for almost a year and never knew the navigation would play dvds. i thought it was only for the navigation cd. definitely gotta try it . awesome video thanks for the useful info man !!!!!
My e90 does the same thing with the preset buttons. Another cool thing is that you can use those buttons for more than just radio stations, you can set contacts and GPS destinations, too.
hey man i was looking at your vedios and i thought let me ask you this you might know. so i have 2014 bmw 328ix 2.0 L I4 so when i turn on power to my car not engine only power i hear weird noise coming from car. i only hear it when i am standing outside car or keep my door open. it like humming electronic noise. i have recently code my car for bluetooth and folding side mirror. IDK when i turn off my car i dont hear anything. its only when power to car is on not engine. sounds feel like coming from back end of it. i wish i could attach vedio here so you can hear it too.. any help will be greatly appriciate it. thanks.

Just got my bmw a month ago super helpful!
I found out about hovering over the radio preset numbers shortly after getting my F82. You can use it to preset a variety of iDrive functions. Preset an easy button to navigate to home, speed dial, etc... Pretty handy!

Also, the touch sensitive buttons are programmable for things like favourite phone numbers, or destinations on sat nav etc.
I realized about the touch sensitive buttons in my gf car way after she purchased a f20 back in Mexico. The. I bought a F32 and tried the trunk thing and worked, I was sure it wasn't gonna work but did. On the other hand, I didn't know about the DVD feature and I'm definitely coming down to the garage right now to try it and see what happens. Heated steering wheel and light washers I knew because I live in Minnesota and these things are big selling points due to the cold winters, so sales people tend to let you know

The radio buttons can be programed for many things like phone numbers, nav addresses, stop/start nav, etc I find it very handy.
Ya missing out not using the pre-set buttons on your radio! I have my family's mobiles set on some of them and home navigation on another also trip computer another! Quicker than using the idrive 😜

I’m new to bmw, do the 2014 328i xdrive come in different trims?
You can also plug in an external hdd or flash drive into the USB port in the armrest and play movies and tv shows you have on it while parked as well (unless coded)
Had my 335i for 2 years know and I never knew it had headlight washers! The rectangles blend in with the M Sport bumper so well lol

I have a 2013 BMW 328xi, for some reason I can't get the DVD feature to work. I was under the impression that all F30 models have the DVD feature.
BMW 1-8 short cut buttons are extremely useful. Main reason I bought BMW again. U can set anything on it. Home address, fav phone no. Radio station. Mine has heads up display and I use short cut to turn it on and off when I need to. Imagine to do it using iDrive while driving it. I strongly recommend all BMW to try it and you won’t be able to live without it.

How long does f30 takes to warm up?
those presets that highlight when you touch them can do more than radio. I have them pull up texts, navigate me home, call my wife, and on. I only have two radio channels on there.

same exact way i learned about the steering wheel haha and trunk realise. i also learned months after buying mine about how to lock the car without using the key. (fingers on the handle not in, you really should already know that one but for some reason i was distracted from figering that one out, couldnt figurr out why when i washed the car it was locking and unlocking got worried the car had exposed wire problems till figured that one out. to be fair i purchased my car in the winter and auto washed it the first dozon times it needed a bath from salt. wasnt till i started handwashing that i learned these.
Man hold down the unlock button on your key fob from outside the car😊 it will roll down the windows and then the sunroof.

What year bmw do you have?
I'll try the hold your finger on the buttons to give you what option it is but I'm pretty sure all the rest are optional extras. You can always find whar options your car has using the last 7 digits of the VIN and speaking with BMW

Not only is watching a movie not safe, it also invalidates your insurance cover in the even of an accident. Some insurers won't pay out if you have that activated in car.

Purchased my car from a BMW dealer and their tech person spent at least an hour going over these features and more.
CIZCI K yeah I wish I had that, it makes sense. For me I just bought the car and that was it. They didn't teach me or show me anything about it. It was literally up to me to learn lol. All of these things were found completely by accident except the headlight washers

I got my car from a BMW dealership and neither me nor my parents (Im a teen and this was my first car) had the patience to wait for the guy to go over all the features. We had him go over the basics and we preset my home adress and some contacts but I was too excited to get the car I didn’t listen very well. Few months later I am completely lost and I feel like I am not using the car to its full potential so I’m really glad for these videos.
Not everyone had the luxury of owning BMW their entire lives and being familiarized with all the features or not everyone had the opportunity to get from bmw dealer and have someone teach them how to use the car.

You must also try to press and hold the button on your speedo (the one you use to reset trip kilos) it will show you some menu that you have never seen before you can reset the dials on it and also do all other crazy stuff with the menu. try it and come leave your reply on what you found.
I have a 2013 328xi and for some reason it doesn't play DVDs
thank God that feature exist because without it you would have had to put your grocerys down first hahaha

Looks like a 2012-2015 328i model. If you are looking to get a BMW of this generation I would recommend a 2013 or newer 335i.

Nieedzwiedz No worries man, from what I read you want to know what features come standard on this BMW? My BMW is a 2013 328 xDrive (xDrive means All-wheel drive) In terms of standard features it really matters about what type you have, what package. Wether it's the Luxury line, Sport line, modern, m sport, they all come wth their own standard features. I believe on all models comfort access, idrive (not Navi), and heated front seats are standard features.
can u say something about Diesel of petrol(Benzine) 2.0d or 2.0i are engines are good or not ?! Bcs i live in State of Big taxes so i have to chose some other weak vesrion ;
I'd recommend the 328d over the 328i. It also depends on your commute. Is it a lot of highway? it really matters about what you prefer. I'm not sure how the cars prices work over seas and what features are standard and not because its a totally different ball game over seas sometimes. A diesel engine may be slower, but it'll give you amazing acceleration at low RPMS where the 328i would lack, but all around the diesel would be slower. The decrease in acceleration is a matter for you to decide. None of us need the acceleration of the 328i, and yet many of us enjoy it. The question is what is most important to you!
the wire is connected to the parking break we did it on my buddys just grounded the wire.

Jamel Hudson I know I did, only after a while tho when I got the time to, a lot of people don't even touch their owners manuals. I download the PDF of them off BMW and read them lol

Bluetooth music I have 328i 2013 mine don't play my iPhone why?
fabian delgado for 2013 models if you did not order your car with the tech package it won’t come with Bluetooth audio. After 2016 Bluetooth audio is standard. I had a 2013 that fortunately it came with the tech package and it had it. My friend got a 2013 without the tech package and no Bluetooth audio. If you have the small screen on top of your dash w/o navigation you do not have the tech package. If you have the full widescreen w/ navigation you do have the tech package.
We had the same issue... it was the battery in the robbery protector keychain

Shumile Swift I'll be looking forward to it. I really didn't know about coding until I asked why my mirrors didn't auto fold when parked. I'm sure theres much more I would want to do but that's what first caught my attention.
michaelmatos81 There are a variety of things you can change/do. The easiest and smallest thing that I can think of off the top of my head would be coding for the windows to shut when you hold lock along with the power mirrors. It's really cool, I like it especially because you basically personalize your car for your likings outside of what the preferences you are given from the factory, which is very locked if you ask me!

One thing you may not know is that under the glove box in the foot well, there's a car charger port. I've had my car for more than year and I just found out.

Christopher Chan I watched a video a while back about features of the e90 you probably didn't know. It frustrated me so much because I knew all of the features already, and it made it difficult to watch and I felt like It was dumb because I didn't learn anything new. So all of those dislikes are people just like me, people who like to know their cars inside out, so in turn it leads to people like us to become upset cause they didn't learn anything new, cause we all know how great it feels to learn something new about our cars! Lol

Damn you guys should read the manual. It's all there.
Cars these days have so many functions you really need to read the manual to know all of them. Having said that, you should always read the manual, be it a car or a washing machine or whatever, even something seemingly simple. If it comes with a manual, read it. Or at least give it a quick browse.

Lee Jagota it's cool man it happens to all of us! I haven't yet it's quite the costly mod unfortunately so I'm just stuck with the halogens for now!

kuwanthony yes I know, lol. A lot of people just buy BMWs and don't look into things like the packages and what not. Some just buy them to drive and cause of the name. Obviously if you get it from an actual BMW dealership they'll tell you everything and you pick and choose the packages lol

kuwanthony OEM xenons are expensive for the E90 I can only imaging out F30s, definitely in the the 800-1000 range, if you're gonna trade the car might as well, but 2 years is still some time and I'd love some OEM angel eyes if I had the money
