  • Installing a set of aftermarket wheels on your Toyota Tacoma or another Toyota that uses ET style lugs from the factory? Then chances are you will need to install extended wheel studs for proper thread engagement on the lug nuts. In this video I'll show you the parts needed and the process of changing out the wheel studs. #toyotatacoma #tacoma #4x4 #customwheels #rayswheel #gramlights #diy

Thanks for making this video, give us ideas how to changes the wheel studs on our tacoma. i have aftermarket wheels on my tacoma, makes me worried every time because little bit off the thread bits the lug nuts.. great video thank you.

Yeah man it's ridiculous how short they are even stock. On the trd pro 4RUNNER rims not much thread to grab on with stock lug nuts to. Not ok with that🤦‍♂️

Thank you for the video excellent information, a few weeks ago I purchased a 2023 Tacoma, the rims on it are dark gray and I want to get rid of the chrome lug nuts, would you happen to know the part number of the OEM non-chrome ones.

noob question but can i ask how you safety shifted your gear to neutral to rotate the wheel to remove multiple studs? i wanna do this but scared that once the car is in neutral it'll roll off from the jack or stands

Just make sure you block off the rear tires in both front and rear of the tires with a tire stop, brick, 4x4 piece of wood, etc - both passenger and driver side tires. SAFETY FIRST!

Any chance you tried these with the OEM wheels and lug nuts to see if they would still work? Planning something similar but keeping the stock wheels for dealer visits…concerned those longer smooth collars will interfere with the stock lug nuts

I believe the Tacoma lugs are not deep enough. However I got some 4runner lugs at the yard which are OEM ET style which is slightly longer. I need to take dimensions as I have (6) in the cab for in case of a flat - otherwise I may need to carry a 1/2"" wheel spacer for the spare.

@@randomrebuilds yeah I’m planning on buying either longer OEM style or open ended ones for the spare. More concerned about the part of the lug that goes into a wheel. I may just go ARP all around
