In my opinion, the UDR is the best RC with the greatest possible entertainment effect. the speed, the chassis, the details, the ability to tune and personalize ... I love it. very nice video again
Lol I'm on the same boat. I've made a few upgrades with aluminum and stainless steel and the thing is a beauty. I have a losi baja Rey 2.0 as well as the Mojave 6s and although I love those as well there something about the udr. Is not the fastest nor the best handling but looks wise is perhaps the best looking rig. I mainly ride slash ultimate which is lots of fun. Good thing is little by little you build your collection.
I bought a traxxas udr from the bazaar and apart from the need to buy spare parts, I think it is the best realistic rc car of all. However, to tune the machine like this, my wife would castrate me. Good job
The UDR just brings certain satisfaction with its realism, personality I just love driving on humps and loose gravel watching that live rear end bounce its fun on its own.
You will love it, put a nut and bolt through the servo saver, rpm rear hub carriers , get the metal gear servo as soon as you can . I’m on my third servo , if you get new servo do the end points settings . Then it should be basically bullet proof
Play with shock oil viscosity. I bumped mine up to 45/50 wt and it made a big difference! Love my UDR, I was the first one in Vegas to get one and have added a bunch to it since. Coolest RC I've had in the last 20 years of being in the hobby! Great build! Makes me want to spend more money lol
Just got my UDR a few days ago and just love the looks and quality of a 'pro scale' Baja truck / Stadium truck! Waiting for another 3s battery on delivery in 2 days. Can't wait to try this beauty on 6s!
Beautiful truck sir. I also have 90% the same upgrades almost all vitavon parts, I chose hot racing sway bars, trailing arms, and titanium upper links. Everything else is Vitavon Vitavon aluminum axle housing, transmission housing, Aluminum planetaries (both) Beadlocks V2s Hyrax A arms uppers and lowers, Knuckles, Steering links, Reefs RC Servo, Castle Mamba monster X 8s Esc Castle 1520 1650kv sensored motor Upgraded center drive shaft Vitavon rear drive shaft Vitavon Splined axles and hexs,( I really love these no more axle pins.
That’s one sweet UDR I have one I just got back from running it love it my truck has a upgraded Servo steel front drive shaft Rpm rear trail arms upgrade rear driveshaft steel wheel hubs the rest is pretty much stock I did Use drywall tape and sugar on the body it’s over two years old and still pretty much together
Really Love Neil's builds. Such great attention to detail. I'll say this is my Favourite. LOVE the UDR but this thing is gorgeous. Excellent choice in wheels great paint work and scale details. Love how they move around on their suspension, whilst given a workout.... impressive car that's for sure!! Only thing I'd worry about with all the aluminium suspension parts, mainly on the rear, is they transfer the shock further up the line. Normally you'd shatter the rear lower trailing arm... now you'd most likely break it off where it mounts on the chassis. Nonetheless this thing is amazing... Thanks for showing it off.. Really great work!!!
Crawler Innovations for the win bro! I'm a big fan. A dash voltage reader is a great idea. Nice options with the Castle MAMBA 8S ESC. I love my Losi Baja Rey, the is a whole 'nother level of trophy truck realism! M.I.D.W.I.D!
I have this vehicle and I changed a lot of the parts on it. I didn't build on the scale realism. All my attention was in the chassis and suspension. I very rarely break it. Most of the breakages were to the scale parts and the body. The other day I did break an MIP driveshaft pin. Before that was I stripped the rear diff gears. I don't recall breaking anything else TBH. I'm not easy on it and the aluminum parts and body would very easily show that. The lower arms are almost worn completely through from rocks and dirt impacts. I'm probably going to have to get a new set of them sooner than later. I haven't been using it as much lately as I've got the new Losi LMT Grave Digger and finally installed my brushless castle system into my Traxxas Summit. I've had the system for probably about 3-4 years now. I bought the system about a year after I purchased the Summit. The UDR in your video definitely looks really nice. I never have been really concerned about appearance as I thrash on all my RCs. Lol. The UDR as it sits probably looks like it's the worst of all of them, but it isn't the one that gets the most abuse. A good solid second though.
@@donzokor5312 true….but let’s not be naive…they use plastic because it’s cheaper…that said, I do agree with you in that metal parts don’t ‘absorb’ any force but merely transfer the force to the next and nearest weak spot. And it’s not like metal parts are invincible…I’ve seen quite a few pics of folks running metal parts on different ‘basher’ rigs only to have the metal bend out of shape after a big crash.

Heavily modified it and been with me for more than 2 years now. It also has the same look and realism of a real SCT.. Plus, the parts were dirt cheap.. So far ive been beating the shit out of it and still hold on very well..
Nice work, I love my UDR as well🤠🇨🇦, and as you know, you can put a ton of money in aluminum upgrades. I did mostly Hot Racing on mine so far with some Vitavon.
I have one and I did a new servo and aluminum arms after that it’s legit I jump it and everything but most RC trucks will have crap plastic stuff or stuff to upgrade so it’s not just the UDR, imo the kraken is probably a better out of the box beater but you can make the udr bullet proof everyone breaks stuff on cars just how they come. What did you bracket did you use for the vertical tire mount after you cut away the tank portion?
How did you get the stock lights kits to work after changing out the stock esc.. since it plugged into the old esc.. would like to have the lights work again after I went after market on the esc and motor.. thanks great video
Maybe I'm the only one, but I would love to see this thing crawl on a trail or something like that, the low speed control was amazing compared to stock!
my opinion, adding too much weight ruins the suspension fluidity of the original that simulates a real trophy truck. If you add aluminum, try light weight but good quality. Vitavon stuff is very heavy, but the best quality. Hot Racing quality is decent but very lightweight compared to Vitavon.
I have an opportunity to get a udr but I want vitivon so with all the parts they offer why buy a truck then replace damn near the whole vehicle? I would hope vitavon would create a roll cage with the flexing of the suspentions on the plastic cage .
I would lovd a list of your chassis and suspension mods in aluminum. I have the UDR with the orange Fox body with some paint detail mods and I'm looking to upgrade it. Anything you can help me with would be great.

I have the blue udr and I put a blue led volt meter in my dash so I always know how much run time i have left its a good way to not kill your Lipo packs
awesome looking udr, just recently got one and happened to see this video and i was wondering where you got the vertical tire mod cause it looks so much better vertical than stock
I've got a friend's UDR on my workbench right now. Somehow he broke the spool in the rear end. I can't figure out how it broke since he drives it very gently.
My biggest complaint is the center transmission. It gets hot faster than the motor and will melt the plastic casing. Considering some of it is enclosed Traxxas should’ve used fluid in the planarity. I’ve had it upside down and had the bottom cover removed to see what gets hotter- motor or center transmission. In two minutes a person can feel the heat building up in the transmission before the motor.
Another question for you, I know you have VITAVON wheels on the truck, which aluminum discs/calipers did you add that fit with the VITAVON wheels, thx 👍
So what's the benefit of going this route with the motor and esc? Seems like top end speed is lost due to lower kv. Does the feel of that extra punch justify the upgrade ? Just curious bc I want to try a different motor esc Combo. Also does he chassis need to be modified to fit the motor? Love the video , love the channel btw👍

You wouldn't break anything. The whole thing is aluminum lol. I'd be afraid of scratching it up.
Just have to worry about bending parts now from all the weight... There is a reason the RC companies design the vehicle with plastic parts.
