I was lucky to get the First one sent to Mississippi for sale! Broke a rear trailing arm two days later, replacement parts weren't even available for another Two Weeks. I love it, I still have it, and Traxxas replaced Every broken part I had for almost TWO YEARS! Traxxas customer support is Amazing! Three servo's, two sets of trailing arms, two receivers, wheels.. and other parts.
People launching this off big ramps at 50 mph and ending up disappointed are the same folks who need instructions on the outside of the pop tart package 😂
Great review I am fairly new to rc and I feel this rc truck looks awesome so much detail and so realistic. The slow motion vids are incredible. There are many reviews that are very negative and feel they are treating this GEM like something it’s no a BASHER
Excellent and honest seeming review. You have me sold on the truck itself. The only thing holding me back now is lack of body options, because that’s my favorite part about this hobby. I love body swapping haha
Driving it scale, treating it as a machine, blowing it off and looking it over the UDR is amazing. When I see vids of jumping concrete stairs, nose diving into concrete and cartwheeling 😬 So so many other bashers out there to do that with. So much easier/cheaper to work out with open layouts, easy access. 100% agree with break it and THEN consider upgrades. Only things I upgraded were the metal bottom full skid plate and tbo unless you are rock crawling " nope" it just adds way to much weight. On the other side of the universe a local guy bought one after driving mine. Like most he nibbled at the aluminum bling which leads to more plastic breaking. Then went insane. Ordered the $1750 Ebay Vitavon aluminum and now he has around $2500 into his build. Problem is its to damn pretty and $$$ to drive wfo the way he does!!
Wow amazing I could definitely see the addiction to make it more an more superior lol I think I may get one the drive and handling looks amazing. I am somewhat scared of fixing it as I am very new to rc but such a awesome hobby. I’m also going to get into drones ahhhh
Excellent review and very accurate summary! I have had basically everything you’ve had happen to mine, expect I seem to go through rear planetary’s from drifting too much 😂. (Overheating and melting internals)
Thanks for the video,, my main concern if traxxas are going to issue a new version soon, a bit wider, more stable and a bit more durable, Talbot finds it not durable 😄... anyone know if there is a new version soon ! can't afford replacing broken parts.
@@Thatstonedbunny24If you have Traxxas batteries with a balance lead, you only need adapters but yes with that "smart" type battery, you need their charger.
I have this RC truck and it handles decent on grass but you can’t take turns very fast or you flip. It is very fast but modded it would go even faster. I have no other complaints it is a near perfect truck
So far on mine only changed the brake calipers and Brake disc to Alu. As apparently the plastic once wear and get stuck. Besides that for looks just some tire straps on spares and ShoeGoo and Bedliner on inside of body. As well as Bedliner on front and rear arms.
I did a layer of gorilla tape on the front end of my udr body I hope that helps a little. I too have broken everything you mentioned I did upgrade the front driveline I personally don’t think it’s that much more strain on the front end lucky the front diff is open so it is somewhat forgiving. I also don’t want to change that driveshaft out on a regular basis.
Hey man love the vids I’m kinda new to RC but I have been looking at the traxxas udr and the arma Mojave. I am having a hard time choosing. I mainly just drive my slash in the backyard and sometimes a little bit of tracks. I am torn between the two and I’m not sure which one to buy.
Hey! Unless you really want the scale handling and appearance of the UDR, I’d go with the Mojave in your situation. It’ll be less expensive, more durable, and perform significantly better than the UDR when you’re able to run on tracks. 👍
Quick question did you experience any rusting of bolts or screws? I took it out and run over some puddles and the rear axle screws are showing signs of rust!
Surface rust on hardware is a common occurrence when RC vehicles are exposed to water. You can avoid surface rust by drying the vehicle off with an air compressor or using products like Cow RC Moo-Slick Silicone Spray. 👍
I've had mine 6 months broke front sway bar rear sway bar front drive stripped wheel hubs shaft rear drive shaft second rear drive shaft broke steering servo steering belt crank assembly rear ring and pinion front ring and pinion.
So what’s the run time like? My 2 choices right now are the max and the udr. I don’t really bash or really send any of my other rc trucks. I’m having a really really tough time deciding. Basically the udr is my dream truck and the maxx would just be cool to own. Please help me decide.
I get around 25 minutes or so with 5000mAh batteries. Since it sounds like you'll be using the vehicle for casual driving, I'd go with your dream truck! Both are excellent options though, you really can't go wrong.
I crashed mine and the truck stopped because the gear the is fastened to the main gear fell off after a major crash at 40 mph i had to tighten it again
Yes, but it would be challenging to find a single 6S pack that fits in the UDR battery compartment. You would also need a jumper for one of the connectors on the esc.
That's funny.... When I hear people complaining about durability ? It's because they are doing things the vehicle is Not remotely meant to do !?!? WTF !? Lmao

I was lucky that my neighbor decided to sell his fully modded UDR and got it for $300. Life is good.
Wow! That’s an amazing deal for a UDR! Congrats
Duuuuude what a grab 👌🏼
Dang. smokin deal
Wow, that's a steal.
My mom's bf turned out to be a pos so I just got one for free
This was actually a correct review of the UDR. this is not a basher.. good job 👍
Thanks! 👊

Excellent review. I liked how you broke it down especially when talking about the durability.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. 👊
You got some sweet slomo shots in the video!! Nice job!! I love my UDR!!

got mine christmas eve and man its pretty fun coming from a 2wd slash, plus paddles on all corners in the snow is pretty fun
Great review 👍 UDR is something what's coming to the my garage some day 💪

I love the way this rc auto drives and looks but the maintenance scares me as I am a beginner. Do you regret buying this rc?
@@Awakendabeast13 nope not at all!
awesome rc and great information on it
Man I just really really really wish they would make a nitro version of this truck
Really very cool car😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
you have very helpful videos. keep up the good work.👍
Thanks so much, glad you find them useful. I’ll sure try! 👊😄

You’ll get more speed with actual Traxxas batteries they’re pretty good batteries don’t get why people hate on them
Because you have to buy a traxxas battery charger, and those are ridiculously expensive. I plan on swapping out the esc to a castle 120A

Yes that is agreed
Superb review once again👍 Totally agree the UDR has to be the best cinematic RC out there.
Thanks a lot! Can't get enough slo-mo with this truck. 😅
Agreed
Great video!👍👍👍
Really love the Udr, wish I had the money to buy one 😅
Love your chanel

What chassis do you use for your monster truck? I am planning on building one
I have a losi Baja rey. 3rd day of owning it I smashed it into a transformer at full speed. Folded the chassis stiffener and bent the chassis 😭😭😭
I love my UDR❤❤❤❤❤
Glad to hear it! Such a fun truck.
best UDR review.

Great review! I want one… but is it really worth $800??
I just got a new one for $525….local hobby store blowing out some old stock
damn that 50/50 grind reminds me of Ken block 😢
rip
Do they sell a aluminum front swat bar?
I believe Vitavon and Hot Racing sell aluminum sway bar kits.
No mention of Battery life?
It all depends on the batteries you purchase, the temperature outside, and your driving style. I get around 20-25 minutes out of mine typically.

Just purchased mine today. Currently charging the batteries
Congrats! Have fun with it. 😄
Were can you buy it

The ONLY reason why I don’t buy traxxas ! The plugs system sucks . I truly hate their electric system for batteries
