Love my udr idc if it’s not the fastest but 52 mph with two 3s is more than enough fun, got HR rear straps, HR rotors and calipers, RCAWD, suspension, HR skid plates and servo upgrade and I love it more upgrades coming
My UDR is going to get some maint. this winter and THIS upgrade is certainly one that I will be adding to the list! Thank you for showing this and I hope that you and your family have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS! :)
Yeah man, do it! Senton is a great truck but the UDR is in a different league. Not quite the basher like a Senton but if you drive it like a trophy truck there’s nothing else like it.
Nice, hit me up if you have any questions. I’m prob going to experiment with different fluids just to see. Maybe a bit lighter as I don’t really jump mine high.
@@rcilluminati26 They are fun to drive, for sure, but mine is pretty well worn out. Any plastics left on it are stretched from use. The suspension doesnt more like it used to needs a complete bearing overhaul. The body and cage are whooped. Even my aftermarket front aluminum A arms are nearly half the thickness they were new. I drove the ever livin shit out of that thing, even drove it through a bonfire at one point. It wasnt a little bonfire either.
How can I fiure out how to rebuild the rear shocks? My son bought this truck and after a few rides both shocks are shot. Ive looked around and there isn't a ton of info
These are pretty easy. Replace the seals and then fill with fluid. 30wt for fronts and 60wt for rears. Fill almost to top, cycle the shock a few times to get out any air trapped then push shaft up about halfway in and almost fill to top. Screw the cap on with the new bladder already seated on the cap. Some fluid will overflow so wrap it with a paper towel. Tighten it good by hand. Clean any excess fluid and then cycle it a bunch and make sure no more fluid leaks out of the vent hole in cap. If it does, it means the bladder isn’t in right so redo that part.
@@rcilluminati26finally got around to installing these, along with going +2 spring rate rear and moving stock rear springs to front. Huge difference. So happy you made this video on it
This kit also fits Traxxas Gtr shocks which will fit a slash. You will just have to figure out tuning, piston hole size/fluid. I’m mounting a set on my Hammer Rey and Baja Rey soon and will have videos. Super nice shocks and not too pricey even though they are anodized and ptfe coated.

Just finished this mod on my UDR and it’s so much better!
Awesome!

Merry Christmas to you and yours, too!
Sick Tires and rims
udr has been on my short list for a long time, might be my next one. just bought a senton and a drone, so maybe this winter
I really enjoy mine. So fun to drive.

I'm definitely going to try this, thank you

Thought to do that to slash using aluminum from cans
Excellent! Curious, what stops the shim from rotating on the shaft? Also, you keep doing these vids and you're convince me to get a UDR.
The noch on the piston fits the flap in
@@Johnny6ex 👍
There’s a channel cut into the piston on one side that the shim sits in.
Get one, you’ll love it!
@@rcilluminati26 Well, you and the current Traxxas sale convinced me. UDR is on the way!
Been a long time since ive used my UDR. Needs tires and more batteries.
I had traded my last one but really missed driving it. Glad I got another

I will install a variable damper on the spring shock Can I use 30wt for the front and 60wt for the back?
Yes, that’s exactly what I used.
@ thank you!!
Would it be possible to do something similar on a SBR 2.0?
Yes but you would likely need to make the correct size shims and modify the pistons. It’s tricky but can be done.

@@rcilluminati26 Thanks for the info. Just ordered the rebuild kits and oil
How does the damper kit compare to the lx bipass shocks? Are the lx shocks worth the extra $$$
This makes way more of a difference. I want to revisit the bypass shocks but I need to get the updated seal kit first.

Will this mod work with the gpm big bore shocks too?
You would have to measure the pistons. They def fit the Traxxas GTR shocks. I’m building some now for my Hammer Rey.
Is this kit installed on in the secondary shock, or the sprung shocks?
You can do either one. I did the secondary because it’s easier to remove for tuning.
What rims and tires are those?
E-Viratrue aluminum wheels with Proline Hyrax tires. Check my playlist, I did a review on them 👍
What wheels are you running
