    • @rcwb110
      @rcwb110  11 дней назад

      Thanks, much appreciated! I had never done something so intricate before, and I am also quite happy with the result! All colours used are from the Tamiya PS range. Colour codes are as follows: PS-58 Pearl Clear, PS-52 Champagne Gold Anodized Aluminum, PS-17 Metallic Green, PS-57 Pearl White and PS-5 Black for the backing coats. I started by laying down the graphics on the inside (machine cut vinyl decals) dusted the body with four coats of pearl effect, laid the pinstripe mask all the way around, then masked off half the body (and part of the bonnet, which was left to be painted black at the very end). I then sprayed four coats of champagne, let it dry and masked the other half, which was sprayed in green, four coats as well. Took all masks off leaving just the pinstripe (pearl effect paint only so far on that area), then laid three or four coats of black to give some depth and seal it off (otherwise there was still some transparency, which I didn't want). Finally took the pinstripe mask off and sprayed pearl white. It took me an afternoon, and it was quite fun to do! I didn't think of making a video about it, as I didn't want to get distracted by getting camera angles, lighting and so on.

    I’m also growing my channel. This was a very entertaining and very informative video. I agree about the chassis plate fitment could have been much better. It appears there are a few guys out there machining these parts some better than others I presume. Mine seemed off by a bit as well but went in fine.
    I love what you did with the rear axle. Looks fantastic. Are you getting any sand inside? I added a bead of grease on the seams on my stock rear axle and also lightly packed the axle ends with grease. I didn’t fill it all the way as I believe that could be worse. I’ve yet to take it out on sand to see if it helped so hopefully it will.
    My rear driver shock leaked out the box. I ordered a double seal kit for all shocks and I’m also gonna get some shock socks like yours.
    I also have the same rotors you have. Or at least they look identical.
    Lastly (for now) I added an ESS dual sound system. I thought it was gonna be silly but it sounds awesome. This truck falls into that kind of scale stuff. I really love this truck. 😊

    • @rcwb110
      @rcwb110  5 месяцев назад

      Hi! Great to get acquainted with other creators!
      The rear axle is insanely effective. It quickly developed an oil leak, so improved the design and fixed it completely. Now it is completely tight, and nothing gets in or out. I drain it every other run to renew the oil. It's a bit more maintenance, but then again, the whole rig deserves close attention in that respect. Well, at least I maintain it to a very high standard, as I am strongly mechanically inclined (pro mechanic by trade).
      The shock socks are really good at keeping grit away, I am quite certain they will extend the life of the shafts and seals.
      It really is a fun truck to own, drive and maintain.
      Stay in touch! 🙂

    The rough aluminum surface acts as a better heatsink than a smooth polished one. But that's not why Vtvo did that. The rough surface also means it was much cheaper to machine.

    • @rcwb110
      @rcwb110  7 месяцев назад

      I absolutely agree with both your statements. It heats up, but you can't say it gets hot. It's just lukewarm. Still, the ribs provide more surface contact with the surrounding air (but man does it look terrible!). And yes, it makes machining quicker, so is much more profitable for them.

    Many of the upvrade parts are hit and miss. Some of them very expensive. TREAL parts fit most often perfectly but they only make wheels for the UDR now. I used to use my UDR so much that many of the parts I installed have worn out and ive been putting the stock parts back onto it that i had originally taken off. I would replace the parts with the aftermarket part i put onto it but many, like the TREAL parts arent any longer made. Aside from that, i dont use it that much anymore. Yours looks pretty dang good. Mine only looked that good for a week cause i absolutely thrash on my RCs from day one.with my rc collection, i only put on aftermarket parts if it breaks more than twice or it a better choice over stock, like most of the electronics in RTRs, or a metal bellcrank vs plastic.

    Were those Al front arms also Vitavon? I'm very surprised they were so bad, Vitavon is second only to M2C Racing. Check out the anti-roll bars Vitavon do, the standard Traxxas ones are shitty and break very easily, especially the front one; it can snap just from you snaking the truck down a road at low speed.
