I just picked up a UDR. I am changing the oil and I just cant get the blue seal to seat. It pushes down into the body every single time. I feel like to seal is too big for the shock body. I did it as you shown but I just cant get the blue seal to sit where it goes. Has this happened to you ? Help.
Thanks for this. I'm planning on trying different oil weight setup, this video will be useful. Quick question, do the dampers have any rebound on the UDR?
I don't set them up with any rebound. Because you have effectively 8 shocks then i don't think you need to. Let me know how it goes with the different oils. Just be aware that due to the geometry of the truck the rear needs a heavier oil than the front
Noted on the no rebound. Today I ended up filling it with (35wt) 400cst front & (60wt) 800cst rear. It's slightly more damping and firmer. However, I'm hoping the shocks will soften just a bit after a few more runs. Again, thanks for this video, much appreciated.
Hi, I can’t seeem to keep the blue rubber cap seated when I place the top shock cap on. It will screw down hand tight and the shock will feel good and smooth for a bit until I compress the shock 100%. Then it seems to blow the seal out of place. Do I need to tighten a bit more?
@@TeamRC3D what worked for me was placing the cap securely in the shock cap and making sure it’s seated fully then placing the shock cap on the shock. Hey I also want to thank you for all your udr videos. They helped me tremendously. 🤜🤛
Hi, when I tight the plastic head I can feel the rubber cap going to a wrong position (and then leaking) just before the complete tight of the plastic head. I have new rubber caps... could you give me an advise ? Thanks, David.
Do you know a way to fix the original lightbars? I have three UDRs and and all of them do have at least one lightbar where some LEDs are blind or the brake light doesn‘t work. One good nosedive can already knock out some of the front grill LEDs.
These trucks are water resistant not water proof. A puddle here and there is ok but going into rivers and streams is no good. Keep it out of the water, and stay in the dirt where it belongs.

They swell up over time - you may need new ones

@@karimrachman5629 do u know what the stock oil weight is in the udr? I wanna change out my oil with slightly heavier oil
@@traxxas_cars160 60wt in the back and 30wt in the front
This doesn’t work. My shock keep leaking oil out of the top air hole. I don’t know what to do.
The blue think that looks like a contact lens keeps flipping inside the shock when I tighten it. It pops out of place.
Check to see if anything is damaged. It’s fiddly getting the diaphragm in
I got it to work. But my shock has lots of rebound. Is that something I should get rid of? If so would I just put less oil in it?
@@s_ckem6846 just need to bleed the shock again
Still won’t stop rebounding. All the air bubbles removed and all.
How often did u run this truck in water? That messed up both of my diifs pretty badly.
Can you share the shock stand file location?
I’m contemplating buying a udr or saving for something else like an maxx. do you think the udr takes too much maintenance compared to the maxx
Have a look at some of our video and you will see Xmaxx v UDR

It’s tricky, use plenty of oil, check the diaphragm for any splits

It is still doing it with the new cups? Try lubricating the caps and rubbers with a little oil
@@TeamRC3D Thanks for answer, yes even with the new cups, now it seems ok but not so easy. Thanks, David.
Yes water will kill them. It will also kill the bearings. I am going to a Video on maintenance and recommended upgrades and how to minimise breakages
Appreciate the vid mate 👍🏻✌🏼

If you put some black tape on the teeth of regular pliers they won't scratch
Yes that would work as an alternative
Is that stand 3d printed ??
Yes it is we can supply the stands in a variety of colours - find us on facebook - link in description
