I learned of them too late. I heard Nothing's Shocking in '89 from a friend's sister, whom I didn't know very well, and it blew me away, but the cassette was in a Ministry case. I kept looking for 'Mountain Song' without knowing the name of the song, under Ministry's catalogue... of course I couldn't find it. It wasn't until 1992 where I heard 'Ritual de lo Habitual' where I finally found Perry's voice again. I was like, this is it! This is the band I've been searching for! I worked backward from 'Ritual' to 'Psi Com' while attending 'Porno' and 'RHCP' concerts loving all of it. So when 1997 came around, I was first in line for tickets. Such a good concert, but you could tell it was a bunch of guys not really all that into it... the music was still amazing.
I've only ever seen "Jane Says" from this performance before now. Thanks uploader! Never thought I'd hear an acoustic rendition of Been Caught Stealing and Ain't No Right.
Went to college briefly in Daytona when i was just a kid, this brings me back to enjoying $3.99 Keystone light 12 packs dancing around the house i stayed in with a group of guys from up north. GREAT TUNE, great times!
Ya, I bought one...Wasn't expecting much and planned on it being my beater guitar that my son could mess around w/ too. *Fast forward 2 years..keep it in hardshell case, clean it after playing, and got son different guitar to mess with. Bc I love it and these models are getting scarce and pricey today
I wish that Perry hadn't changed his teeth, fillers, etc. He was always a nice-looking man. Dave has admittedly tried botox once, which he claimed to not care for. He too is a very handsome man at any age; they both are.
That's what I said on another post they all aged well perry looking a bit older and I can see he has to work extra hard to get that same sound out his vocals age is rough in the voice it changes especially if your a smoker then your screwed. Dave's a good looking guy he looks the same as I remember him
Fuck N Love how the dopest bands call Duff in to play with them live. But duff with Janes is magic and a coming full circle of my teenage musical idols, a rare gem that didnt need to last but just be.Gunners were my first personal discovery and the music spoke directly to me while my peers chose Metallica. Although Id heard of Janes Addiction in my 16th year it wasnt until my seventeenth year an ex girlfriend showed me the movie“ The gift”. Already deeply into heroin and exposed to the seediness within. There wasnt much that could shock me. It shook me so good it took my brain months to aclimatise to the bands distinct sound and aesthetic. That girl and I fell apart juggling love and addiction. And not long after her life was taken by the constantly looming spectre we simply termed the dreaded overdose. Twenty plus years have passed since those duality filled days and Ive carried Janes with me like my track mark scars. Belonging to another time and existing in another place they were truly a rock n roll fable. Ever seen the poster advertising Elvis on one side with the caption “ this rock n roll will never die” followed by a picture of Perry with the headline “ but this rock n roll will kill you!” Just like one remains a junk addict for life long after getting clean fans of Janes may not listen to thoses albums much anymore they are still die hard live harder Addictions fans.Pure heroin inspired punk funk hybrids born and bred in LAs back alleys they exuded danger without trying or acting tough just prevailing was proof enough. The very fact the members survived is a poetic statement for rightous rebelousness and we live on together always against the odds. Peace love and empathy PsB77........
The thing is right at the time they were filming this session Dave and Perry were going on drug bender fuei for weeks cause of the gigs ..and as Dave said it was his idea cause he thought they will sound better and get into it like before ... And there was fear that being sober before it he was afraid for his sound and chemistry between them
I so wish Eric A. was here, but Duff?...stupid-cool - and I honestly can’t think of anyone better to fill them Bass shoes...what a set; weird...cool...
What was up with Perry's voice. He must of been experimenting or something. At times it didn't even sound like him. He was using a horrible vibrato in his voice and was singing root notes instead of the least obvious notes he usually would sing. I'm so glad he decided to give that up at some point and go back to being himself, that was horrible and I view him as one of the most genuine and unique, powerful and great writers of the 20th century. He was bending notes and words everywhere instead of powerful and straight as he usually would do. Dave and Stephen where perfect and good job Duff for sitting in!
@@RoosterRocket Right At first I was like wtf? Then I thought he was mocking it then I saw he was taking care to Cary the notes and nail the pitch bends and by the end I thought well that was refreshing but still prefer the careless punk style he recorded with
Saw Them Back In Ohhh 3 Ish? Ex Girlfriend Threw Her Bra Onto The Stage. Navarro Hung That On The End Of His Guitar Throughout. I Can't Remember The Damn Song.
i love janes addiction and perry, but i do respect duf and what he did before. if you go and freeze the video at 3:02 and check Dufs face you will know what i mean. Probably he quit because he could not take it, maybe better Axl shit than Perrys
Funny the showing up in a van, rocking out at the WORLD or MARS, seeing them play live and doing "One of the best sets ever! This band should be arrested! NO! Let PERRY GO!!!!
Sharing Jane's Addiction live music, enjoy.

We are the luckiest human in history ever to have and watch so many great musicians.
Aint no right is so underrated. Love the acustic version too
They have everything- guitars, drums, vocals, sound all the way around set PERFECT in this show.
Chills, love Jane says, etc, Perry in great form, beautiful ❤️
Awesome seeing Duff on this one
I love these guys! Seen them in 1991 and 1997 with great memories!
Ahhh 91. Dave dreads were so cool
when they were shoulder length.

Damn, I didn't knew that I needed a Jane's addiction acoustic show until today
Wow. This is a delight. 🥰 Jane says such a beautiful song, one of my faves ever.
Love how the drummer constantly is just smiling lol
he gotta smile man, if not those percussions wont make any sound :D
what do you call the guy who hangs around musicians all the time? .....
@@domi202 or just music. Have you watched him play the drums solo while playing the song on his tablet?
Best version of Jane says.
I really appreciate how, in a room full of vintage guitars, Navarro's rocking a newer Epiphone
It really shows that he stands by his signature model

Gen Xr here… that’s all that needs to be said.🙏🏼✌🏼
What a great find! Diggin this with a coffee 'thank you!' :-)
The band has aged incredibly well, esp Dave
I wish that Perry hadn't changed his teeth, fillers, etc. He was always a nice-looking man. Dave has admittedly tried botox once, which he claimed to not care for. He too is a very handsome man at any age; they both are.

Perry is obviously older then the rest though I'll have to look into the ages
I miss the young, darker skin, dreadlocks Dave.
Perry, I love you. The best musician of all time. Be be be da do dop. And n-n-now jaaaane says
Wow, everybody looks really good.
for a second, i thought Duff was Eric. oof! This was beautiful for us old ones!!
What a wonderful gem, thanks for posting!

I saw Perry years ago in Downtown LA ...wild gig!

DUFF!!!!
Thanks for the post
Dave, guapo!!!!
♥️
Duffy in the Bass!!!
Epic!
was the host sitting there the whole time with one leg up and the other down lol awkward-great epic performance-hats off to Duff
Farrell is infectious he grooves man✌️
Always classy
They all look so healthy and happy to be together, it's nice to watch. Terrific!
The thing is right at the time they were filming this session Dave and Perry were going on drug bender fuei for weeks cause of the gigs ..and as Dave said it was his idea cause he thought they will sound better and get into it like before ... Bro, duff kicks ass
Perry may have his issues.
But you can't knock his performance here. His singing is amazing
Welcome to the band Duff! ...and then he left a few months later.
I so wish Eric A. was here, but Duff?...stupid-cool - and I honestly can’t think of anyone better to fill them Bass shoes...what a set; weird...cool...
True . Flea was overkill. To technical for Janes.Duffy is dead on
Musical renegade and genius Hail ,HAIL Peery Farrell !
Perry Farrell seems to be a really nice person.
No one knows
I love and it may be needed get the Bass lines right.Duff McKagin,, love ya bro, but "hands up to Eric B". who dropped the bass on that song
Was hoping for mountain song
Quite noticeable that Dave doesn't age. He's 42-43 in this video, but could pass for being in his 20s.
Duff knows the songs better than they do
It doesn’t work without stretching for the rafters and his delay …That’s their magic spot
How does he stay so skinny?
Saw JA Boston college way way way back
Awesome show awesomely awesome stripper poles with strippers
Omg luv this stuff guys 🎉🎉
I like Perry’s vocal treatment on this performance. I’d like them to do a release of it but they would have to sue themselves to release it probably

Duff was a good shout for Janes.
Saw Them Back In Ohhh

I Can't Remember
The Damn Song.

Dave Navarro .
Man, I alway felt you as a West Coat Band! You made East Coast BORING!
Not gonna lie, this was a little weird. Aside from the interview part and Jane Says... Oof
When compared to the wild live shows pre 88 then yeah this setting is as you say.
This is my favorite version of Jane says
