  • In todays video I’m going to be installing an aftermarket tailgate assist shock from Orion motor tech (OMT) to my 03 Silverado!!
    Tailgate assist shock: amzn.to/44eKmGP
    (Note: this link is for the (03-07(classic) Silverado. OMT makes the shocks for a lot on different trucks so if you have a different truck you will need to verify fitment!)

    Got one for father's day. Not this kit but, the set up works and went on w/o issue. The video's on line are definatley better than the printed 'instructions.'

    Thanks for the how-to video. Just bought this and about to put on myself. Also noticed that in the bottom left of your tailgate it says Elizabethtown Kentucky. That's where I was born and where my family is. Pretty cool. Pretty small world. All my best to you and yours.

    Just replaced these for my glass lift for $20 a pair and tailgate lifts for $14 a pair through eBay for my 02 ZR2 blazer, they work extremely well, that support is perfect for the tailgates👍

    Does it lighten the tailgate to make closing easier? My old 93 F250 tailgate weighs as much as the entire bed dead on my Tundra

    • @ZPTVChannel

      It made mine a little bit heavier due to the resistance of the cylinder..

    I tried these on a Tacoma and the cable kept getting caught up in the shock and sticking out the crack between the tailgate and the bed. Had to take them off.

    • @ZPTVChannel
      @ZPTVChannel  13 дней назад

      @@Tactical07H3 i haven’t ran into that issue.. there is a ton of space between the bed and the tailgate on these trucks though. Not sure how tight the clearance is on the tacomas.
