day one (march 13): i got a crochet kit and learned to make a slip knot. i got started on making a chain. day two (march 14): i'm still working on making a chain. it's quite difficult, at least for now. day three (march 15): just an hour ago, i finally made my first chain. it took some time to realize what i did wrong. but, now that i know how to make it, i'm quite proud! day four (march 16): i continue to practice on how to do a chain before i start learning a new pattern. it is much easier for me now. - i went on a 8-day-break from crocheting - day five (march 24): i'm at the beginning of how to make the crochet a circle. i think all i gotta say rn is that it's not too easy. i'm struggling to make it. but, i'll be able to do it eventually. remind me to come back! :D
I have researched SO MANY videos on learning the basics of learning how to crotchet and have failed every single time....... until your video!!!! thank you so much for clearly explaining everything and moving at an appropriate spread for a beginner!
I recently bought a crochet set with hook and yarn and other crocheting essentials but it did not come with a tutorial or pattern (I'm a beginner) and this vid actually helped me out.. Thx for the knowledge🎉❤will be subbing and following other tuts from you❤❤
Thank you so so so so so much like I've seen 5 videos but none of them helped me at all but yours did, again thank you so much I was about to give up until I saw your video❤❤❤
oh my gosh, i've clicked on dozens of vidoes trying to learn how to crochet, but i always get lost at the chain stitch. your video was the first that i was able to copy! thank you so much!!!
THANK YOU!!! All the videos I’ve seen only show how to do a chain but don’t show after and this was the best tutorial! I actually understood everything
it was going well until the single crochet where i got pretty confused and eventually gave up. but definitely trying again tomorrow! thanks for the great tutorial :)
Thanks for following along! Hope the single crochet is getting a bit easier to do. You can also use the gear button to slow down the speed of the video even more if you like, and hope that can help out some more!
I had trouble for the last couple of days but i finally think i did it! My problem was i keep making far too tight. My layers look ugly but they are my layers
I have never done crochet before and got a hook from someone so wanted to learn - i watched about 8 other tutorials before clicking on your video as a last chance before giving up hahaha and i'm actually getting the hang of it now!!! thank you so much for making it so simple!

I haven't been able to see my crochet teacher since COVID started, so I learned how to make a round tube but not a flat panel. I'm left handed, so it takes me several minutes to mentally reverse anything I'm taught. Thank you for this video, it really helped!

Thank you so much for this video! I want to begin learning crocheting and this video looks perfect. I get a feeling that this might not be super easy to do in the beginning, but I am sure with practice I can get better! Also, I am doing the single stich, but I started w/ 15 chain stiches, because I want to make a scarf that is a little bit wider :) Thank you so much Ami! I have been practicing and I think I am getting the hang of both kinds of stiches!

Thank you so very much! This was the easiest video I’ve watched and the only one that I actually had success in crocheting with! You are a wonderful teacher! Thanks so much!❤
this is a very great tutorial. I succeeded in my first attempt I am very satisfied. Guys if you struggle so much, just take your time, it's not a race. Watch slowly, pause the video then rewatch and try to do it at the same time. Or do it after rewatching. Repeat a scene as much as you need, you are too difficult with yourselves. I just took my time, I never did crochet before, this is literally my very first attempt and by taking time I just finished to understand this tutorial in about 20 minutes. I was really surprised to see so many people in the comment saying they get stressed and cried of frustration because they have difficulties or get lost...
I kept messing up the single crochet for quite a while but then I eventually got it. This video is well made and very useful, as well as simplistic. Thank you :D
Oh my gosh, I made the mistake of trying to start crocheting as a total newbie by doing a lil octopus and I was SO confused, like, "WTF is this" confused. I looked for tutorials and this one FINALLY makes sense to me! I'm happy now!! It really helped. 😭
I’m so lost... my chains are never that big. I just started. Very small and hard to single stitch with :/ and it’s very confusing when I do that too as it just looks wrong. It doesn’t look right at all. And when I bring my loop in when I’m doing a chain it brings two loops in causing it to get stuck. Help!
I've had this problem too! I solved it losing fear of letting it be too loose. Maybe because she mentioned to be cautious with that, we've became too cautious. Remember that we're starters and are allowed to make mistakes!
I had that problem too, I was holding it too tight and I thought that’s what I was supposed to do! But don’t he afaraid to let it some slack and make the chains looser :)
Omggg thank you soo much yesterday I got the first crochet hook ever and I was watching videos and video and the next which is today I found your video I saw this video 4 5 times and now I know how to do it thank you very much 😊😊🙌💞💕
Can’t tell you how many failed attempts I’ve had before finally getting it right all because of you!!! You are such a blessing! Automatic subscription from me. Thank you!!! ❤
SOO YES OK- THIS VIDEO ACTUALLY WORKED AMONGST ALL THE OTHER ONES WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO GIVE UPPP!! THE WAY YOU EXPLAINED IT WAS PERFECT AND OS EASY TO LEARN TYYYY
Thanks Ami for this tutorial. It was wonderful because it was easy to follow and non stressful. It ultimately gave me confidence to keep trying and be happy with the very basic beginner work that I'm doing.🙂 I liked when you said to go and practice 100 stitches because I did just that. I stopped trying to learn EVERYTHING and just had fun doing that one thing over and again. You're awesome. Thanks so much 🙂
That's awesome that you did the 100 stitches!! Yes, repeating something over until you get the hang and feel of it definitely helps when you're beginning so I'm glad you did it! 🙌
this one. this is the ONE video that actually was able to teach me the basics. i have literally been researching for so long on how to crochet, but this is the video that actually helped me. thank you so so sooooooo much.
OH MY GOD I FINALLY FIGURED OUT HOW TO SINGLE CROCHET ALONG THE CHAIN THANK U SO MUCHHHH!!! my friend recommended this video to me and I’m so happy she did 😊
I learned how to crochet for few years from this video. Thx for all of your videos. I appreciate them so much. I'm proud I can learn how to crochet. Not all people can do crocheting, so keep up your good talent, ma'am Sharon!
I was so confused trying to follow a little guide that came with my crochet kit and was doing a weird chain/single stitch mix thing that I didn't realize until your video^^;. It makes so much more sense now that there are actually 2 loops to go through on the edge instead of 1 haha. Think I'm getting it little by little^^
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS TUTORIAL!! IT'S HARD AND I DON'T GET IT AT FIRST, AND I ALMOST CRY. BUT THEN I KEPT TRYING AND TRYING NOW I KINDA GET IT! THANK YOU SO MUCHHHH!!! ❤
This is probably the best tutorial I've ever tried bc all of the ones I've been trying are just too confusing and this helped me finally learn how to crotchet tysm for this :))
I have been crocheting for about 3 months now and I have never seen a more helpful video than this I think I know how to crochet properly now thank you so much 🫶
Been wanting to crochet for a while now and finally got the things I needed to today! This was the most easiest tutorial and helped me learn the basics tysm!!! 🤩
Thank you so much for the very easy to follow tutorial! My goal is to create the duck and after 3 attempts at following this video, I think I have practiced enough to give it a try! My first attempt was pretty bad, but I kept watching the tutorial over and over again and realized I was doing the stitches slightly different than you and I eventually was able to correct my mistakes. It does take some practice to get the spacing right. If you are following her and hope to make the duck also just hang in there. You can do it!
thank you so much for this step by step! I recently got a crocheting kit and was planning to make something for a friend for Christmas with no experience (ambitious, I know) this is just what i needed to get the hang of it before I make something🤩
I’m not creative or artistic, but I want to do something that I can focus on that doesn’t require stressing out and every crochet tutorial was stressing me out. This tutorial was the only one that had me successfully crochet with no issues. I wish I saw this video before all the other ones. She’s very slow and explains very well. I recommend this video being everyone’s first.
OMG. It has been so frustrating trying to learn how to crochet and I FINALLY found a video that helps me SO much! All the other videos go so fast, but I like how this goes slow so it’s easier to understand. Tysm!
@@Fumiko_vents it can be. You just don’t want to lose count of your number of stitches when doing each round because then you’ll be lost and that’s not relaxing! The repetitive movements of it and seeing progress made is relaxing.
Thank you for this video!! Although sloppy, I got the single stitch down because of this video!! :) I can't wait to get better and make some of your cute creations from your other videos. Especially the Pokemon ones and the duck!!
I have seen and tried out a hundreds of videos in this platform for about a month.. and daring to say this one video is the best for all beginners 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
I've been practicing for an entire week and I just could not get this right I felt like giving up thinking maybe crochet just isn't for me but then youtube suggested this video and I thought why not but in so happy I did because this is the only beginner crochet tutorial I've watched that's explained int in a way that I understand and now I'm actually crocheting I'm so happy thank you!
You explain everything so greatly which makes it easy to understand what to do, the only problem which I still haven’t been able to fix is that I tighten the knot every time I am crocheting a new row, which makes it so hard to continue, any tips on how to prevent that from happening?
It sounds like maybe your tension might be too tight? And you may be pulling your yarn too tight? I would work on maybe loosening tension if possible. Good luck!
I’m having the same problem. I’m making them too tight and can’t do the second row, it’s too hard to push through. So I need to work on making them looser
I watched several videos on how to crochet and this is by far the most helpful! The downwards turn of the hook was such a great tip that took me from frustration to success. Thank you so much!
I’m getting my crochet kit tomorrow so I’m gonna edit this comment/reply and tell the results of a beginner of how much I got better! (I start on Jan 22 2023) Btw thanks for tutorial! It helped me a lot for crochet knowledge :] Day 1:I know how to do slip knot yarn, how to hold the yarn, and a bit of chain stitches, but the yarn is soo annoying and keeps unraveling into mini yarn. It's just frustrating with the yarn. Besides that, my chain stitch turned pretty small and okay for an absolute beginner. Day 2: Single crochets are tricky for me and the yarn is still ripping. Still frustrating but more easier. Day 3: I think I mastered single crochet chains! Proud rn ;) Week 1:I was wrong about me knowing how to do single crochet stitches. Now I actually know how to do them! On my way to magic rings and plushies now! Week 1: Edited a bit late. I now know how to make magic rings and maybe plushies. Although they are a bit tricky, and I still need to learn increase more well and decrease. Week 2: Month 1: Conclusion: (Ends at feb 22 2023) Btw I hope this helps you get motivated to crochet! It seems fun to crochet just looking at it.

OMG the same thing happened to me! Maybe your yarn is too thin
Same the yarn my mum bought me was almost as thin as a thread i think its bc of the thinness of it
Me too, i think it’s yarn size. i got mine from dollar tree and it’s 5m i think?? i’m not sure 😭
I LITTLERALLY WAS ABOUT TO GIVE UP BUT THEN I SAW THIS VIDEO AND IT HELP ME SOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This one is actually a good tutorial. I understood how to do it and she explained it in way that is easy to learn.
I have tried for years to figure this out. Have had people try and teach me and watch many videos. I finally figured it out thanks to your video
Thank you soo much I tried one million videos but not made me learn how to crochet but you make me learn crochet thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I was so confused trying to follow a little guide that came with my crochet kit and was doing a weird chain/single stitch mix thing that I didn't realize until your video^^;. It makes so much more sense now that there are actually 2 loops to go through on the edge instead of 1 haha. Think I'm getting it little by little^^
Thank you for this because now i can crochet ducks for my family
Yay ducks for everyone! 😉💛🐤
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS TUTORIAL!! IT'S HARD AND I DON'T GET IT AT FIRST, AND I ALMOST CRY. BUT THEN I KEPT TRYING AND TRYING NOW I KINDA GET IT! THANK YOU SO MUCHHHH!!! ❤
THANK YOU SO MUCH I WAS ABOUT TO QUIT CROCHETING
Keep at it! ❤️ And thank you for all your comments!
You don’t know for how long I have tried looking for a good video to start.Thank you so much for explaining it so thoroughly
I
Can't wait to buy my beginner crochet kit and watch more of your videos!
THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO EVER !!!!! IT WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT HELPED ME UNDERSTAND THANK U SO MUCH I HAVE NOW MADE A BEAUTIFUL WORM ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Awww a cute beautiful worm sounds great!! Happy for you! I'm so glad it helped 💖💖❤️❤️
I am crying. This is stressful.
Same
Help real I can't even do a chain stitch😭
IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR LITERALLY HALF AN HOUR GOR A TUTORIAL I UNDERSTOOD, THIS WAS THE FIRST ONE!! TYSM
Tysm!
Whoever said crocheting was relaxing is a liar, I cried and stressed out during this video so many times
Did you ever figure it out? It took me 4 days of practice before it made sense to me.
@@JeannettiePis it relaxing once you get the hang of it?
same 😭
@@Fumiko_vents it can be. You just don’t want to lose count of your number of stitches when doing each round because then you’ll be lost and that’s not relaxing! The repetitive movements of it and seeing progress made is relaxing.
@@JeannettiePthen count it again or redo it?
This is truly an excellent video! What a clarity, what a lovely yellow wool, what a great visibility!
Thank U
Thank you for this video!! Although sloppy, I got the single stitch down because of this video!! :) I can't wait to get better and make some of your cute creations from your other videos. Especially the Pokemon ones and the duck!!
Yay, single crochet is my favorite stitch and I'm glad you got it down! Happy Crocheting! Love to see your future projects ❤️
I have seen and tried out a hundreds of videos in this platform for about a month.. and daring to say this one video is the best for all beginners 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Thank you so much for sharing this instructions, very simple and easy to follow - I’m starting my first crochet this afternoon :)

I'm crocheting everybody I'm crocheting!!!
Me repeating the same words in my head lol 🎉
Me repeating the same words in my head lol 🎉😂😊
This was the first video that made sense to me and actually showed me what to do! Thankyou so much.
thank you so much! this helped alot :)
I like how she does it slow so we can understand 👍
I’m getting my crochet kit tomorrow so I’m gonna edit this comment/reply and tell the results of a beginner of how much I got better! (I start on Jan 22 2023)
Btw thanks for tutorial! It helped me a lot for crochet knowledge :]
Day 1:I know how to do slip knot yarn, how to hold the yarn, and a bit of chain stitches, but the yarn is soo annoying and keeps unraveling into mini yarn.
Proud rn ;)
Week 1:I was wrong about me knowing how to do single crochet stitches. Now I actually know how to do them! On my way to magic rings and plushies now!
Week 1: Edited a bit late. I now know how to make magic rings and maybe plushies. Although they are a bit tricky, and I still need to learn increase more well and decrease.
Week 2:
Month 1:
Conclusion: (Ends at feb 22 2023)
Btw I hope this helps you get motivated to crochet! It seems fun to crochet just looking at it.
Cool! Good luck with crocheting! It’s a bit hard to understand at first but it gets easier to do after a few tries.
I have watched millions of videos, and this is the only one that helped me.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! You’re the best teacher, the other videos I’ve watched have been extremely confusing, I love your tutorials!
i have watched so many how to crocheted videos and this is the only one that helped me learn. thank you!
This is the first tutorial I’ve seen that actually showed how to single crochet very well thank you ☺️
Nice to know I’m not the only one right now lol 😁 good luck 🍀
@@kylacorrina4682 good luck to you to 😁
I have watched so many videos to learn how to crochet and this is the only one that worked!!!
