I'm an engineer father, and have gotten 2 Woobles kit for my daughter. As an engineer, I absolutely loved the scientific section of this video from your husband. As for the crochet, that's for my daughter. I will definitely get the Clover hooks for her too. THANK YOU for providing this video feat. your husband. I've watched some other Wooble reviews which actually bored me. LOL! This video kept me awake the whole time.
"Who knew that tribology would apply to crochet hooks?" As a crafter and engineer, I LOVED this video! I showed it to my engineer husband and we laughed in delight at your husband testing the hooks with his work equipment. Wearing his work shirt was a great touch, too!
This is SO precious. Came here to see a video of a beginner try to crochet, but I left with relationship goals XD The fact that he not only took a liking to your hobby, but he also brought his own work/hobbies into it IS SO SWEET.
I have watched THOUSANDSSSS of crochet videos over the past 12 years and this is literally the most interesting, informative and fact based I have seen! Thank you to you and your Hubby for your amazing interest, curiosity and love for discovery! I actually have a feeling of love after watching! 🙏🏼🤗💚
I learned to crochet from The Woobles! And I gained more experience from Complicated Knots and have made all sorts of cool animals and dragons! I have The Woobles to thank for it!
@@nicolemaxwell2943I tried to learn from Whoobles & hated it & quit😂 But I didn’t give up on crocheting. I learned all sorts of of stitches on YT. In the last 5 or 6 months now I’ve made so many baby blankets, throws, hats etc. I plan on going back to finish the whoobles since I spent around $120. I did buy an informative book from them as well.
OMG, I LOVE the fact that your hubs has the scientific knowledge to do such a great informative review!!!!! He is adorable! Watching you stay in your lane is hilarious, LOL!! Great job!
This was so helpful and lovely with you both doing this together. Your husband seems lovely as do you. I’ve been wanting to learn crochet by buying a wooble kit but I’m still worried that without someone like you next to me that I’ll get confused and mess up!
As a scientist who uses an optical profilometer as well as a crocheter, this was the best video overlap ever! Thanks so much for the informative review.
My teenager had a bad learning experience with crochet in middle school art class, but became interested when I started making amigurumi. I was thinking about suggesting a Wooble kit for a while, but this video convinced me. Thanks for the tip about the hooks, too--I have collected (and lost, and rebought, and found) many, many Clover 4mms. But it was your husband who actually convinced my kiddo; they want to be an engineer, and thought the profilometer was the coolest thing ever (next to your husband)!
The hook is so important. When I first started I had a hook from Amazon. I thought I was having difficulty crocheting, as I just couldn’t get the slip stitch to work. Once I purchased a smooth hook, I quickly discovered it wasn’t that I couldn’t do it, it wasn’t bad technique on my part, or anything else I was doing incorrectly. It was poor tools. The Woobles kit has an option to purchase the kit without the hook. On the Woobles website, it is $5 cheaper to choose the kit without the hook. You could purchase a better hook with the savings. First time I heard someone explain the cost factor as a course instead of just a kit. Brilliantly done.
@@EliseRoseCrochet the hook is an option on their regular kits. Part of the "appeal" of these collab kits (Harry Potter, Snoopy, BT21) is their specially designed hooks. I usually just display them because they are cute - but I'm glad to have a scientific explanation on why I don't like crocheting with them! LOL
@@vickijackson5547yeah I looked at a couple of my hooks both from woobles kits and one I got from a set for Christmas and there are definitely visible differences. The generic woobles kit hooks are not as bad as the specially designed ones but I never noticed because I kept using my generic hook and put the others in a bag together.
❤❤❤❤great video Really enjoyed learning about the woobles kit. But really enjoyed meeting your husband. He’s got a great attitude 😊. Oh and really appreciate learning that you can actually measure the smoothness of a crochet hook.
I know, but I understand! In truth, I don't think it is possible for me to speak without using my hands! The one time I had laryngitis, my husband was concerned, but after I went to the doctor, and he said I needed to rest my voice, my husband said, "Thank goodness," implying he thought he would get some peace and quiet. He forgot I have another way of "speaking" with my hands, but soon remembered, as he had page after page of aggravation, written with a red felt tip pen, shoved in front of his eyes on an extremely regular basis.
Of course I was interested in the Wobbles for my beginner friends. BUT the profilometer and tribology (new vocab words) sent my science geeky heart over the moon. I'm sharing this with a very good friend who crochets and is a physics teacher.
Elise, I used to work with your husband as a vendor. He is great and we have talked crocheting and other crafts. He is the one that hooked me up with your channel. I love that he was a willing participant. Tell him hello! Love your videos!!!
My grandmother was a crotcheting demon. She made the most amazing and intricate lace. I still have a number of her pieces. My wife is quite at it too she did an area rug with something that resembles fishnet line and is working on a bed spread that weights about 10 pounds. The detail and workmanship are out of this world. It also good for arthritis. My grandmother crotched till she died at 91
Your and your husband's experiment was SO Fascinating. Something I learned since restarting my crochet journey during COVID was that quality tools make such a difference. Thank you for showing us what that looks like under a microscope!
I started crochet with the Woobles kit (Penguin) and I had a similar experience. The videos were slow and clear, I liked the yarn that wouldn’t split, and I still use the markers and needle for my own projects now that came in the kit. It took me 3 days to finish the penguin (which includes having to make your own magic ring later. I still use the method taught in the woobles to make mine). I knew I’d want to continue so I ordered a second kit from their site (turtle) for a reduced price without the hook. I finished that one in a day. By the second kit I could tell the hook had a bit of drag so I ordered a set of Clover Armour hooks based on your hook reviews. I could immediately tell the difference. I still think the Woobles kit is great and I still recommend it to new people starting out. Also, I LOVED the joining of craft and science! Please do more if you can!!
This has been very informative! I learned to crochet with The Woobles in Feb 2023, and I still buy the kits for their cuteness factor. Last year when I first branched out to other yarns, I bought Clover Amour hooks. After that, I found the Woobles hooks unusable. I thought it was because of some residual adhesive from the handle making the shaft sticky. A few of the special hooks still had a layer of thin plastic on the shaft that manufacturing didn't remove. But thanks to your hubby's tests, I know it's not something that can be scraped or buffed off, because the metal itself is rough. It's fun to see the science of it. Fun fact for you: Even though the Sharks fought over them, Justine and Adrian ultimately did not partner with any sharks. You can search for a quote from Mark Cuban where he said they outsharked the sharks. They seem to be doing really well on their own.
Your hubby is such a good sport to try this. Woobles kits were where I got my start. That was a little over 18 months ago. I made three kits and then was off to the races - I really appreciated the left handed instructions as we lefties are usually forgotten. I also liked the texture of the yarn, it didn’t split, and was easy to use.
I admire the HELL out of your self-restraint. I'm about two and a half minutes into him starting this, and I want to reach through the screen and do it for him! Literally, I would have had to set up the cameras in their different spots, and then leave the room. That surface roughness machine is fascinating! That also explains why, when I'm using a hook that doesn't see a lot of use, or one that's new, why I'll feel so weird to crochet. Because the hook hasn't been "broken in" yet, and gotten smoother thanks to wear.
‘Stay out of it”. LOL…. NOT. She had her hands in there the second the bag was open. Staying out of,it would have been leaving the room and coming back when he was finished. 🤷🏻♀️
I love love love that Elise eventually just walked away she really empowered him to figure it out and it was soooo nice to see him figuring out his own process. Great job you two!!! Love your channel!!!!
I have done several Woobles kits, and I recently started a Harry Potter kit. I crocheted about 2.5 rounds with that hook before I just couldn’t anymore. My hook hand felt fatigued so quickly. I went and switched the hook out for an earlier Woobles hook (blue, and I would say probably very much like your Hobby Lobby hook), and my hook hand instantly felt better. My theory is that the Woobles themed hooks have become such a collector’s item, and the Woobles have grown so much in popularity that they found a company that can make them themed hooks in bulk, and they are much cheaper (lower quality) than their earlier generic blue hooks. Just my 2 cents. I will say that the Woobles got me so hooked on crochet that I came to RUclips to find crochet channels to watch, and I found you! 😊 So they are certainly doing something right if I want to step up my crochet game after less than a year.
For people who wants to know from more people who has tried it: Woobles was my first introduction to ANY kind of knitting. I have ADHD, so concentrating in one hobbies is impossible for me lol (disclaimer as with any other MH disorders my experience will probably be 70% different from others w/the same disorder). I’ve made all the first Harry Potter collection(including the pet accessories); some accessories of another summer like collection and a shark, here are my thoughts: 1. As a beginner, it’s amazing. The videos are slow, have subtitles (English) if needed, and explain everything. They are easy to follow and is awesome that you can see how it should look like. They name each video with the skill you are going to learn for that particular row. The old videos are harder to follow and confusing, and too long for my brain to pay attention to them. However the old videos comes with a pdf with only the pattern instructions which is awesome. 2. If you are not a beginner or maybe you are but you know the basics, the videos are too slow and frustrating. But easy to jump ahead and just look for the pattern instructions and how it should look like. If you get one of the wooble that has the older videos, when you know the basic is so much better because you get the pdf and can use the videos just for reference. 3. The yarn. OMG the yarn. Know that I moved to more challenging projects, how I miss this yarn. You can see each stitch, it does not breaks or separates into little strings of yarn, and is so much easier to count it. This yarn helps you a lot, so I do recommend to even buy it if you want to continue practicing before moving to “real” yarn. This yarn is like training wheels. And once you feel comfortable with your skills, changing to normal yarn will add a new challenge because it’s not as manageable (I really don’t know how else to describe it). 4. For my ADHD peeps. Doing amigurumi (what woobles basically are) is a good place to start when you want to learn crochet. Each row is a new mission. You rarely are repeating, which helps with the “new” feeling that we need. 5. Easy does not always means “most practical” mean in they teach you the easy way, this doesn’t mean is the only way or that there’s a faster way, it just means it’s the most easy way to learn it. Once you move onto sth else, you will be able to see more ways of doing the same stitch and choosing which works best for you is your choice! Some skills I’ve learned through woobles I changed it for other ways that were more practical or functional. Some other skills I kept as I learned them because it was the easiest even if not the most functional. 6. The hooks are not the best, ngl. They hurt and made my hands cramp or sore. However, they are okay, I would recommend getting other kind, if you are able to go and buy them in person so you can see how much your hand adjust to them. 7. You won’t leave everything that it is to be learnt. However, you do learn the basic. If you want to learn more advance stitches or learning how to read visual(international) patterns you will need to find another option. I’ll add more in the comments if with the video I get more ideas
Oh more ADHD tips. Body doubling is THE BEST way (for me) to do anything new that can be difficult or frustrating. Because whenever you encounter a problem, you can troubleshoot.
Also velocity will come with practice. It took me a week and a half to finish my first Wooble (Voldemort). 3 days to finish the second (Dobby), and 3 to 5 hours to finish the rest of woobles(Dombuldore, Harry & Shark). My first accessory (Nagini) took me 2 days, the second (sock) 1 and a half hour and the rest between 30 min (sun hat, baseball hat, beach ball) to 2 hours (fawk & hedwig) depending on the amount of stitching I needed to do.
The Woobles are exactly how I learned to crochet. A little pricy but the videos are fantastic, and the fact that they made one of the magic circles for you to start is neat.
Thank you for this video :) Could you bring your husband back for a deep dive episode comparing every crochet brand's profilometer results and ranking them by smoothest to roughest ?
I would really like to see a comparison of the Tulip etimo and the Clover amore hooks as those seem to be popular hooks that people try to choose between. I know I did :)
True confession- I get pretty excited when I see a new video from you 🤦♀️. Great content today! Omg, your husband is adorable. I’m basically a knitter, but I still enjoy watching your videos. Would love to see a few knitting videos, but I’ll watch whatever you post 🙋♀️
Eliseeee! This video rocked! coming from a daughter of a metallurgical engineer (my departed mom), I lovedd this! Thank you both for taking the time to do this. It made me want to try the Furls silver streamline, to see if I see a difference vs the fiber ones. Thank you so so much what an awesome ride this video was! ❤❤❤❤❤👏👏👏👏👏👏
Furl's needs to thank you for this advertisement. You introduced me to them and I've amassed quite the collection of resin and their new metal hooks. I love seeing the difference in hooks shown by science! So cool.
@@EliseRoseCrochetI can’t help but shake the fact I feel like I’ve watched your husband on TV or RUclips. Please tell me I’m not loosing my marbles at only 36 years old lol.
Good for your husband for attempting to crochet. He did an amazing job. My husband didn't have the patience to learn it. But he loved my projects and watching me. He received most of my finished objects. He was so proud of them. I use them now. 😢
This was SO COOL! I love that you used science to help you confirm an observation. I actually might use this video to teach my students about the scientific method. I absolutely loved this!
That was so much fun! Your husband is a delight! I hope he continues to learn and has fun making stuff in his spare time. I think it is great that he was even game to give it a try. And the hook analysis was way cool. 🥰😃
I really enjoyed this video. My son has wanted me to get him a woobles. Thanks to you I know to give him one of my crochet hooks to use instead of the one that comes with it. I really enjoy your videos. I have been crocheting for 20 years but I still learn from your videos.
This was so much fun to watch. I just got my husband to crochet with me. He doesn’t have the time for it, but it definitely gave him an appreciation for the craft.
Just loved the science of your flick. The facts on the different hooks explains a lot of why my shoulder hurts after working a project. I'm going to invest in better made hooks.
This was, without a doubt, one of the most fun & interesting crochet videos I’ve watched. Your husband is such a good sport - kudos to him! I found the profilometer content so interesting and the Woobles company could learn a lot from this. I pretty much use Clover crochet hooks only - love them. Thanks for such an informative and entertaining video!
My wife suggested this video to me. From husband to husband here. Evidently you work for Total Seal. Awesome!! Your wife let you bring your work toys home. Awesome. I am going to tell my wife that I’m going to bring home a Coriolis meter next week. 😎
The analysis of the crochet hooks simply amazed me. It makes total sense now why there is such a difference between the provided hook and my Tulip. Thank you to you and your husband for taking the time to look at it with so much detail!
Omg we all know how wonderful and beautiful u r Elise but u and your hubby together make such an amazingly beautiful couple ! ❤❤ I loved this video and found it so funny and interesting how your husband turned a crotchet lesson into a science lesson.😂 The concentration of your hubby face when trying to crochet mixed with u trying not to help him and sit on your hands, I just loved it.😁😅 I learnt so much this video about more than just crochet, loved how your worlds came together ! 💗💗🧶🧶🙏🙏
I loved this ! Your hubby is such an adorable nerd . This video is so important in that it shows us how we may not know why things aren’t working out in our project.. the hook is important, yes, but it is fun that there are projects out there for people to use to better their craft. I would recommend that anyone trying one of these projects have the basics first
I have used multiple Woobles kits. The specialty branded hooks are much rougher than their standard hooks that come with the basic kits. I started crocheting with one of their animal kits and fell in love with crochet! Several months later, I got a specialty Christmas set with a printed hook like that and definitely noticed the same roughness and difficulty you experienced. For me, the Woobles was a great intro course and taught me the basics of a hobby I now love!
@@EliseRoseCrochet the original hooks are very smooth. I use them still. Better than the cheap sets on amazon, but not as good as the popular hooks like clover.
I had the opposite experience. I got so frustrated with the kit that i put it down and went to RUclips for beginner tutorials. After a couple of months, i picked up the kit and made it. I dont like how it turned out though 😂 such a waste of my time (im retired and have absolutely no schedule, lol😅)
I had the same experience did some basic kits first loved them saw the Harry Potter kits and had to have them. When I started using the Harry Potter hook it felt like it kept dragging and catching so I switched back to one of their other hooks.
I used a basic kit (bunny) to learn how to crochet, and I still use the hook it came with all the time. To me it feels exactly the same as the clover amours I have been collecting since then.
I can see why this video has so many views, it was incredible!!! Thank you for squirreling and using the profilometer and the microscope to show us the results! What a treat
I thought it was great that your hubby was so willing to try out the kit for you so we could know what someone that does not crochet thought about it. Thank you, have a great weekend both of you.😊
I’m an analyst at work, and I LOVED watching you both gather data on the crochet hooks! So fascinating to see the physical and measurable evidence backing up our artsy preferences.
I taught myself to crochet using a couple of Woobles kits, and I loved them! I recommend them to anyone interested in learning to crochet. I completely agree with you on the hooks. Once I switched to Clover hooks, I never looked back.
@@godsgrace127 Thanks, it looks like I haven’t tried that one. I’ll put in an order and see what I think… And yes, I mostly make amigurumi right now, while I’m learning. 😊
Daaaaamns GIRL! This video was absolutely amazing!! I came in expecting simple beginner easy going video...and then.. ...me stopping my job and paying absolute attention to your husband every word! You should do more like this! You and your husbund are amazing people and amazing minds and it is not a surprise you are together
The hook definitely makes a difference in crocheting . Thanks so much for sharing that information with us. For the price of the kits , the company should certainly include a better hook. IMO.
You can pay $5 less per kit and get no crochet hook and buy your own. I did learn to crochet from The Woobles and found their hook okay, I have recently gotten a couple different ones to test out though for my next Woobles kits!
The energy your husband put in to not only try the kit but also compare hooks under a microscope is so wholesome. I don't want to hate on The Woobles, but for $30-$40 I would want to be receiving a REALLY good hook.
You can pay $5 less on any kit to skip the crochet hook. I bought my first Woobles kit with one, and for subsequent ones clicked “no hook” (which brought the price down by $5 each). Because I am so new at this I don’t really know the difference, but for this next kit I’ve been using a Susan Bates hook (same gauge) I bought to try out and it’s been interesting to note the differences!
This is the best non-crafty tangent that I’ve ever been on in a crochet video. Your husband is great sport for just trying the kit, but he took it to a whole other level by checking the smoothness of the hook to see why the experience with the other hook was easier. 💡 Thank you both for sharing. ♥️♥️
This hits home for be because I learned crochet with Woobles 8 months ago. Your findings are mostly on the money. When the kits are non-branded, they include a generic ergonomic 4mm hook. I didn't have the problem your husband had with the branded hooks because by that time I had already completed a couple of kits so it was easy to notice something was off. With the branded kits, I've bought two and both hooks had problems of being rougher or just not being sanded down. Another common thing is for folks to not read that some kits are intermediate kits which will not start the magic ring for you. My team at work picked on cuteness so they were doing double crochet clusters as beginners that just picked up a hook. My practice has been to print off the pattern they give you and only to refer to the videos as needed.
😂 I happened grab my first Woobles ball of yarn the wrong way and figured oh, I just got one (narwhal) that they forgot to start a magic ring on. Found their tutorial, figured it out, and went on with everything. I already had counters, so it didn’t phase me much… finished the damned project and then saw the other side of the yarn, where the magic ring and start was tucked in. 😂😂😂🤦🏼♀️
@@khills oh lol, I could see that happen for me as well, I pull the yarn from the outside. I never center pull xD In most cases the yarn or thread I buy is wound in such a way that it can't even be center pulled in the first place.
I had started the same way. My mom had a stroke back in June last year and I was working while visiting her. I picked up the Narwal kit and have officially been hooked 🤣😉
I completely agree with you on the crochet hooks. I've never gotten a Wooble kit but did purchase a knockoff kit when I first started, and it took me months, an injury, hours of RUclips watching on product reviews, and a $90 purchase (tulip set) to realize how much difference good crochet hooks can make. When I saw the Harry Potter kits I was tempted because of how pretty the hook handles look, but even by looking at the picture of the hooks I could tell that the shaft is going to be rough and it's not going to be a good purchase. It's cool to get my observation validated here though. SCIENCE!
It strikes me that this is a case of scamming loyal customers with subpar products because a lot of them don't know any better. Which seems to me to be consistent with the product pricing in general.
@@darthlaurel I don't think anyone is trying to "scam" anyone. I'd bet a milkshake that the Woobles team has no idea how big of a deal this issue really is. They are selling crochet courses , with everything included and in some cases licensed characters, including manual labor to start every single piece in every single kit! I feel that the price of the kits is high, too, but a LOT goes into running an operation like that, providing what they do. I can imagine that their expenses are really significant. I would love to know how they're responding to this!
i learned how to crochet with the woobles, and since i had never crocheted before, i didn’t realize that the hook was so rough. but now that i’ve bought my own crochet hooks and started my own projects, i realize it’s so much easier with smooth hooks!
I wanted to mention something VERY important after seeing the hook info near the end. These collabs are usually $40 per kit but all include their hook. The beginner kits that are NOT collabs usually have a "no crochet hook" option for as low as $25. Then you can take the extra $5 you save by not including a hook and get a decent hook at Hobby Lobby!
I have ADHD and his focus and concentration was amazing! Well done Sir, well done! Now, to get my man who is a retiree as an Aerospace Engineer for NASA for 20 yrs and just retired from SpaceX to pick up a crochet hook...LOL. YES, Houston, we might have a problem!🤣😉🚀
Please thank your hubby for being such a great sport and testing the hooks. Now I understand why the Furls Hooks are so expensive...it's worth it. Great review and enjoyed the technical aspects of this video. Thanks for taking one for the team. Hugs😊
Years ago a coworker of my father’s got into an accident. He was bored so his wife taught him to crochet while he was in the hospital. He crocheted for years after that and enjoyed it thoroughly. It’s not just for women (and neither is knitting).
I love your video, your husband is so cute. His reaction to your question if he likes crochet is priceless. Thank you for making this video, I learned a lot.
Bless your husband. Not only for taking on the challenge, but for sharing some very interesting information. Glad my favourite Clover hooks got a stamp of approval 😊
Elise! You've got to get your husband to test the Furls Odyssey compared to the new Furls Streamline Metal hooks. I'm so curious to see how the new ones stack up to the Odyssey.
Woobles are how i got started in crochet less than a year ago. It was a gift from my bf and ive been obsessed with crochet ever since. Thats how i found your channel :)
This video was so fun! My husband is a machinist and over the years watching me crochet he has said "I can tie knots too", and has shown interest in learning. I do plan to teach him, maybe on our next vacation. So watching your husband was fun. When he pulled out his equipment, that was so interesting! I had been curious the difference between hook brands. Now I definitely want my husband to watch this video also! 🥰
I knew you could make clothes and doilies and such from crochet (only because my mom made them) but then I found the Woobles and found out you could make the cutest little toys! I learned how to make my first amigurumi (my first 4, actually) then started crocheting all kinds of things. Half a year later I started my own crochet shop on Etsy! For each kit you are indeed getting not only the equipment to make the amigurumi, you're also getting a lesson on how to crochet and it goes over so many of the basics that you just don't get with most RUclips tutorials. I am really thankful to the Woobles for getting me into my new hobby and for the newfound joy.
I absolutely loved this part. I understand what your husband did here with his test and test instrument! My husband introduced me to so many of these technical instruments over ten years ago, and I am familiar with them. My husband works in tech, but has a huge interest in what your husband does. I showed my husband your video, he knew exactly what your husband was doing. .. (he knew about your husband's company)... that's all he said about that. That's all I needed my husband to say about that. Anyway. To me, a "garage" technical instruments knowledgeable crochet wife, mom, and woman. . .. and a woman who is learning crochet.... I personally felt so much "I get this, I get it with this couple too!". ❤️
I started my first woobles kit last week and cried. I have never crocheted. I had to learn that I get into a hyper focused state when I'm crocheting and I had NO idea that would happen to me. I have ADHD, so my hyperfocus would be activated and then I'd be humming along, but then I'd lose the focus, lose my place and have to figure out how far back I needed to go to fix the mistake. Thank you for your video. I'm going to try a different needle, that might help my focus to stay locked in. Absolutely fascinating video and appreciate how you shared your findings about the crochet hook!

Awww! That's amazing!! Thanks for sharing!! 🧶🧶🧶
Thanks so much for sharing that the hook is optional on most kits? 🧶🧶🧶
I have also put good tutorials on making crochet earrings, crochet bracelets and crochet necklaces on my channel. Those who are interested can use it.
❤❤❤❤great video
Really enjoyed learning about the woobles kit. But really enjoyed meeting your husband. He’s got a great attitude 😊. Oh and really appreciate learning that you can actually measure the smoothness of a crochet hook.
"I'm going try to sit on my hands," .... 2 seconds later. "We have some black yarn...."
🤣🤣🤣 #nowillpower
😂
I know, but I understand! In truth, I don't think it is possible for me to speak without using my hands!
The one time I had laryngitis, my husband was concerned, but after I went to the doctor, and he said I needed to rest my voice, my husband said, "Thank goodness," implying he thought he would get some peace and quiet. He forgot I have another way of "speaking" with my hands, but soon remembered, as he had page after page of aggravation, written with a red felt tip pen, shoved in front of his eyes on an extremely regular basis.
I cackled at that!
@@jeannemara1600 🤣
Of course I was interested in the Wobbles for my beginner friends. BUT the profilometer and tribology (new vocab words) sent my science geeky heart over the moon. I'm sharing this with a very good friend who crochets and is a physics teacher.
Thank you!! 🧶❤️🔬

16:10 Right after she said, "you know what we could do" I got an ad, and the first thing the ad said was, "nobody likes to be told what to do" 😂
I'm deaddd 😂😂😂😂
Elise, I used to work with your husband as a vendor. He is great and we have talked crocheting and other crafts. He is the one that hooked me up with your channel. I love that he was a willing participant. Tell him hello! Love your videos!!!
That is wonderful!! I definitely will!! 🧶🧶🧶
My grandmother crotched till she died at 91
Wow!!! That's amazing!! Thanks for sharing!! 🧶🧶🧶
@@EliseRoseCrochet Wish I could share some pictures for you.
Your and your husband's experiment was SO Fascinating. Something I learned since restarting my crochet journey during COVID was that quality tools make such a difference. Thank you for showing us what that looks like under a microscope!
It makes a huge difference! 🧶🧶🧶

Thank you so much for sharing your experience!! 🔬❤️🧶
Very interesting! Thanks for sharing! 🧶🧶🧶
It was all I could do not to grab it right out of his hands!!! 🤣🤣🤣
I have also put good tutorials on making crochet earrings, crochet bracelets and crochet necklaces on my channel. Those who are interested can use it.
Haha I was thinking I'd have to leave the room as well. Hello fellow control freaks!
Sort of like teaching your grandchildren. You need to suffer and watch as they learn.
‘Stay out of it”. LOL…. NOT. She had her hands in there the second the bag was open. Staying out of,it would have been leaving the room and coming back when he was finished. 🤷🏻♀️
Nice video! Your husband was such a good sport. He had such a serious look of determination on his face....when he was still opening the package!!
He was into it!!! 🔬❤️🧶
I love love love that Elise eventually just walked away she really empowered him to figure it out and it was soooo nice to see him figuring out his own process. Great job you two!!! Love your channel!!!!

I love this because I can relate 100%! I am too, a hand-sitter-onner haha

😊 So they are certainly doing something right if I want to step up my crochet game after less than a year.
yep I had the same experience. I couldn’t use the HP hook but had done several other kits and used an older hook with no problems.
For people who wants to know from more people who has tried it:
Woobles was my first introduction to ANY kind of knitting. I have ADHD, so concentrating in one hobbies is impossible for me lol (disclaimer as with any other MH disorders my experience will probably be 70% different from others w/the same disorder). I’ve made all the first Harry Potter collection(including the pet accessories); some accessories of another summer like collection and a shark, here are my thoughts:
Thanks so much e for sharing your experience! 🧶🧶🧶
The Woobles are exactly how I learned to crochet. A little pricy but the videos are fantastic, and the fact that they made one of the magic circles for you to start is neat.
That is a very unique feature of the kits!! 🧶❤️🔬
@EliseRoseCrochet the hardest part when I started was getting comfortable with the tension.
Me too! I recommend them to anyone who says they want to learn. I did two kits and then was comfortable enough to try patterns on my own.

Now I want to see an entire video comparing the smoothness of different brands of crochet hooks. That was SOOOO interesting!!!
It's coming!!! I've already convinced my husband to test them all!! 🤣🤣🤣
That's very good to know! Thanks for sharing about the hooks! 🧶🧶🧶

Is it a certain Clover set? Cuz I tried a couple via Amazon and ended up sending them all back for just being hella uncomfortable in the hand.
@khills I use the clover amour hooks. I make a lot of amigurumi, and I use the 3.5 hook the most.

The hook definitely makes a difference in crocheting . Thanks so much for sharing that information with us. For the price of the kits , the company should certainly include a better hook. IMO.
That's really how I feel too! 🧶🧶🧶
I love how you guys came together with both of your expertise in different areas and analyzed the hooks. So awesome.
Glad you enjoyed it! ❤️❤️❤️
This is the best non-crafty tangent that I’ve ever been on in a crochet video.
Your husband is great sport for just trying the kit, but he took it to a whole other level by checking the smoothness of the hook to see why the experience with the other hook was easier. 💡
Thank you both for sharing. ♥️♥️
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 🧶🧶🧶
Whoever the machinist was for the Odyssey hook, was incredible.
Thanks so much for sharing!! 🧶🧶🧶
I have also put good tutorials on making crochet earrings, crochet bracelets and crochet necklaces on my channel. Those who are interested can use it.
@@khills oh lol, I could see that happen for me as well, I pull the yarn from the outside. I never center pull xD In most cases the yarn or thread I buy is wound in such a way that it can't even be center pulled in the first place.
@@flowerdolphin5648 I can’t even offer such an excuse. It was just a 100% authentic blonde moment for me. 😂
Awww. You and your hubby are a cute couple. Thanks for sharing your review on the kit and recommendation for hook to use.

I had started the same way. My mom had a stroke back in June last year and I was working while visiting her. I picked up the Narwal kit and have officially been hooked 🤣😉
As someone who never crocheted before the Woobles, it absolutely helped me. The way she teaches is fantastic.
SCIENCE!
We had so much fun with this project!! 🔬❤️🧶
You win, this is the best concept for a woobles review.
Edit: the roughness of the crochet hooks was insane!!
Right???? I couldn't believe the difference! 🧶🧶🧶
oh i immediately clicked on this when i saw it, i love watching ppl start crochet
It was so much fun watching him learn to crochet! 🧶🧶🧶
Love to see someone learning. It does look so awkward. My pinkie is my tentioner and seldom see anyone else using it.
i learned how to crochet with the woobles, and since i had never crocheted before, i didn’t realize that the hook was so rough. but now that i’ve bought my own crochet hooks and started my own projects, i realize it’s so much easier with smooth hooks!
Your husband is the smartest best sport ever 🥰
I think so too! 🧶🧶🧶
Yes!! Good point? 🧶🔬❤️

I love your video, your husband is so cute. His reaction to your question if he likes crochet is priceless. Thank you for making this video, I learned a lot.
Thank you!! ❤️
Bless your husband. Not only for taking on the challenge, but for sharing some very interesting information. Glad my favourite Clover hooks got a stamp of approval 😊
They are great hooks! 🧶🧶🧶
I hope the Woobles people see this incredibly informative video and act on it!
Thank you! ❤️
Your husband is so adorable when he’s scanning the crochet hooks. You can tell he’s totally in his element.
Elise! You've got to get your husband to test the Furls Odyssey compared to the new Furls Streamline Metal hooks. I'm so curious to see how the new ones stack up to the Odyssey.
This is why i subscribed to you. Your videos are really informative, and they are entertaining too! Lots if love ❤❤

Thank you so much! ❤️
Woobles are how i got started in crochet less than a year ago. It was a gift from my bf and ive been obsessed with crochet ever since. Thats how i found your channel :)
That is awesome! 🧶🧶🧶
Love the way she said "I'm using my husband" would make for great out of content clip 0:09
Awww! That's awesome!!! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! 🧶🧶🧶
I was actually cheering him on as he made his first stitch. Honestly... that was fun!
What an absolutely awesome video. That is teamwork right there. I had no idea you could measure the roughness of a surface with a tool!
I learned to crochet with woobles kits, then ventured to you tube and found you and so many more great creators. I’m just sad I learned late in life, I really enjoy my new hobby!
