Hi! Coming from someone who learned to crochet with the Woobles, I think I should state something. The Woobles aren't a "Crochet Kit." They are a "LEARN to Crochet Kit." If you know how to crochet Woobles kits are NOT for you. They're expensive for if you know how-$25 (If you don't get the hook) is a lot for a crochet kit, when you could get a very similar one for $10. HOWEVER! If you do not know how to crochet, the Woobles is how you do it. It has everything you need, plus videos for eye-learning. They teach you how to read crochet-lingo too, which not a lot of kits too, and also it does have leftie tutorials! Literally all you need is scissors. Also, the yarn that they have is amazing-it's literally the best for beginners, which is worth at least $15 of the price. Also, coming from a crocheter, they give you the best kind of hook possible. I love the woobles, but in no way should you get their projects if you already know how to crocheter (Unless it's their intermediate kits because those are actually good if you already know how because they teach you more advanced stitches and other stuff.)
I didn't know how to crochet and I started my crochet kit recently. I'm loving it. The video tutorials are super helpful and I appreciate the kit is setup for what I need to get started. I have ordered some other beginner kits to try because I'm having a ton of fun 😊
Yeah, that's what I thought. First I was to criticise the price but then I saw how it's reasonable if you don't have yarn, hook, stuffing, eyes etc. in stock at home plus if you have no clue how to crochet.
Woobles has a book by the way! I own it (got it at Barnes and Noble) and it has a lot more value than the kits do! (The book itself was like 25 dollars if I remember correctly?)
I hate that these come in plastic packaging now, they didn't when they first came out. They came in a nice little cloth pouch. You also used to be able to choose if you wanted a hook with your set or not. It's so much unnecessary waste. It looks like they have different yarn now though than when I got my kit. I think these kits are really cool, but crochet is so hard for me for some reason haha, it requires so much concentration!
As a crochet designer and teacher I think you did a phenomenal job! Your penguin is precious. I have my complaints about the company but overall it's good for beginners. Beginner Plus means you need to know some technique like color changes, different stitches, and possibly a little bit more embroidery. Good job you!
So cool to see the left-handed thing!!! When I started crocheting it was extra difficult because I had to "flip" the tutorials videos in my head. It made the learning part so frustrating
My great grandma was amazing at knitting and my mum always wanted to learn, but she couldn’t figure out how to teach her because my mum was left handed! 🤣
Did you ever try looking at a mirror? I see that "hack" all the time for left-handed crochet but I don;t know how much help it actually is as a right handed-person
I didn’t have that problem. Mine was that I didn’t know if I crochet left of right handed because I’m cross-dominant. As a kid, I think I tried to learn left handed but didn’t get the hang of it (didn’t realize the cross-dominance until I was adult so thought I was left handed-despite using scissors/knives, throwing/dribbling balls, etc. righty-because I write lefty). As an adult I tried again and learned that I crochet right handed. I’ve also taken a large gap of not crocheting for awhile and then had to take time to figure it out again 😅.
My grandmother taught me to crochet and I had to figure out the left handed thing on my own. I like that these kits have the left handed instructions. I was a child of the 60's so was pretty much forced to adapt to right handed scissors and sports equipment. I still do most things right handed except write and use utensils. Using a computer mouse was one of my biggest challenges when they came along. @@wintersprite ,
I pretty late to the party, but another useful tool for her would be a stitch counter. Instead of making marks in a notebook when you finish a row, you could click the marker. There's also apps for it but that would be difficult to manage while also using the device to watch the video and follow directions.
He came out so cute! Your tension looks great :) If you’re planning on making more amigurumi like this, I’d say it’s definitely worth learning how to do a magic ring properly to avoid having a hole in the middle. For me it was one of the hardest things to get the hang of in crochet but once you figure it out you’ll never go back.
Also the "hidden" decrease. I learned to crochet well before the age of RUclips and didn't learn it until a few years ago. Makes everything look so much neater.
I go the moose before Christmas. Probably would not have bought it if it was full price, but it was on sale at my local grocery store. I absolutely loved it! It is the first time i was able to follow crochet instructions without getting frustrated enough to end up throwing it against the wall. First time i ever finished a crochet project and i have even done a few other crochet projects since.
Worst part about throwing a crochet project out of frustration as that it doesn't make a satisfying noise on impact. I need a crash or a bang to help ease the frustration 😂
It's very satisfying to get into it. To just pull everything and watch it come undone. It's depressing to see your hours of work disappear but i mean at least pulls are satisfying in the moment @@gracepalmer8185
It is a bit expensive for what you get. However I did like them for the convenience. When I was planning for a trip and debating on what yarn to pack for projects to work on the trip (I'm a dollmaker and can become indecisive really quickly) I ended up buying a woobles bundle that was discounted and I got a free tin for notions included. It was nice to have for the trip since it was a small project I could work during my down time and not have to worry about if I didn't pack the right materials or lose inspiration because my indecisive nature telling me I should of packed up a different project instead. Plus the bag the woobles come in are great for packing purposes! I honestly loved the yarn and you can buy their yarn separately (and I've found knock off brands of that same yarn) but again the balls of yarn run a little pricey so I haven't bought those yet but waiting for those to be on sale as well since it was a good yarn to work with.
You in the drive through made me laugh. My mum tried ordering a hot chocolate with her London accent, and she ended up getting a Big Mac because they couldn’t understand her 😆🤭
First you did an awesome job! He looks great. To me it seems expensive for what you are getting. There are so many great RUclipsrs that do tutorials and people selling Etsy patterns that also offer videos. I just think a fraction of the cost can be spent to put your own kit together. Especially since now the dollar stores are carrying kits and supplies. I've looked at these kits and just couldn't justify them. In seeing your review I agree the videos should be better because that's probably the biggest part your paying for. Jellyfish is not hard at all! There are many RUclips beginner videos on that.
@@daspeckhardt I liked her video as well as a beginner she did an amazing job! I just feel horrible that people can charge that much for a project like this and hope it doesn't discourage any beginners who think they have to get a kit like this to learn how to crochet.
@@biancaramos8894 that's what I thought when I first saw these. I think now they care making money on the license deals they are getting. They had PacMan, harry Potter and so on. Plus the special matching hooks. I began crocheting over 40 years ago. Only recently I've ventured to amigrium making. The jellyfish was my first and I followed a RUclips video. It was fun. Now I'm teaching my nephew, who is left handed. I use my front camera so it's lefty for him. Beginner kit crochet need not coat more than $15 and I think that's generous.

It's so funny that you posted this, because I was looking for some thing to watch while I made the coffee cup Wooble for my boyfriend! I had the same issue with the videos you did. I started with the lion because I've never crocheted before, and didn't want to mess the coffee cup up. For his snouts, I decided to use the magic loop tutorial instead of the chain loop. Issue being, it never told me how many stitches I needed in the magic loop for his snouts. Not even in the chain loop tutorial. I had to go forward to where she was sewing them on to count how many stitches she had. So it definitely seems to me that things can fall through the cracks with their video system, but I'm still very impressed by it all. I would recommend them to friends!
I’m a beginner crocheter. I’ve made doll blankets, doll scarves, a little pumpkin, and wreath ornaments. I’m cross-dominant so while I write, sew, bat, and putt left handed, I also do a lot of things right-handed, including crochet and knitting. As a kid, I tried to learn crochet from my great aunt, and I think I tried to do it left-handed but didn’t get anywhere. Then as an adult, I figured out I’m a righty at crochet. If I take a long gap from crocheting or knitting, I sometimes forget which hand to hold everything in. Of course I also didn’t realize as a kid that I was cross-dominant and teachers always gave me left-handed scissors and thought I was left-handed for pretty much everything. It made some things tricky to learn or figure out. Thus, I can relate to lefties on some things but not everything…and being cross-dominant can come with its own set of challenges.
Woobles taught me how to crochet and they are great kits in my opinion! I'm had to work on my first one with my grandma because I couldn't do it by myself at all, I'm already on my 2nd one and I've already finished the body all by myself!
I will never get tired of "I don't know how to do this, let's do it!" videos from Chloe! First, she is so talented, she makes everything look easy. Second, she makes me want to create art myself! Just love these vids. Hope the wedding preps are going well!
I'm so happy how your Pierre came out it looks adorable! I started crocheting in the middle of last year and already have a good enough grasp on it that I don't feel the need to start with something like the Woobles but I got one for a friend. Also, the reason that the colors changed with some of the videos might have to do with how visible the yarn is fro the instructions. I personally don't have any opinions with how the videos are not the same color or anything because I learned from just searching on RUclips and experimenting until I got it right, and plushies like those are something I don't enjoy making purely because of how much counting there is. I enjoy things like clothing where i can play with stitches and implement my knowledge instead of just following a tutorial all the way through.
I learned to crochet with the woobles bunny kit during covid lockdown. I’ve since become intermediate and I’ve even picked up knitting! I absolutely love working on my projects.
I love to crochet and I mainly make amigurumi so I've been intrigued by these Woobles. They are far too expensive for my liking, though. I get why the price is so high and I don't think it's because of the videos. I think the high price is mainly because you have a start for your first part. On the one hand it's nice to have, on the other it feels like a bit of a waste. You're not making your amigurumi in one piece, so you need to learn how to do a magic ring anyway (or another way of starting). They look adorable, but not for that price. Your first amigurumi looks amazing, though! (Better than my first one)
I’m a visual learner and I had a very hard time getting the hang on where to start before I bought a kit a few weeks ago. I’m still a newbie but I don’t think I would have ever gotten the hang of it without those tutorial videos. For some people it’s “convenience” but for people like me it’s an easy (not so cheap) way to get down the basic step by step basics before throwing yourself into stitches and patterns you have no idea how to use or read.
@Emmakate1306 I struggled learning to crochet for so long before I found free online tutorials to help me out. I'm glad these kits helped you, but they are very expensive for what you get, especially considering the countless free resources online. If you can afford this, it's great, but there are so many cheaper options.
I started with a wobble back in August of last year (so a whole 6 months ago lol). A friend bought it because she wanted the plush but gave it to me to do it for her because she knew I had crocheted before. Needless to say that wonky screwed up owl turned into a full on obsession! I've made probably 50 or so amigurumi pieces and have plans for a bunch more! Get hooked my friends 😊
Wow that's expensive to me. But i do get the novelty. Could get multiple yarns and hooks and free patterns or videos online to make multiple things. And for stitch markers you can just use another different coloured piece of yarn and weave the ends in with a hook. But still, they're cute. And Good job!😊 I've been crocheting years after teaching myself and really enjoy it 😊

i just bought my mother one and am teaching her step-by-step using the pdf pattern that came with it. the first two instruction videos were really helpful to get her on track and the yarn is super easy to work with, plus, it comes with everything you need. yes, it's pricey, but the videos look very beginner-friendly and to get all the colors you need, it will cost more than $30.
I’ve been seeing ads for Woobles all over the internet. Thanks for showing how it’s done. I’ll still never try one, but it’s good to know that the kits really are beginner friendly
Got this kit last year (paid a crazy amount as I’m in the uk) but found it so worth it. Went for this kit as so many people recommended it for beginners and I’m glad I did. Made understanding things so easy
I find so exciting when people start crocheting and they get their first piece and they are so happy and the craziness starts and then you can't stop o-o I count my lines like that too hahhaaha And you are so talented with art too, I like when artists try different crafts ♡
I just finished the Chick yesterday and Bunny today. I have never done any crocheting before. I purchased a kit of 4 woobles. I have Penguin and Fox remaining. It too k me forever ( I thought) to understand the difference between a single stitch and increase stitch. I wish there had been a better overview at the beginning. At one point I felt stupid. My husband enjoyed my struggle. Once I got into it I think they turned out cute. Yes they are a bit pricey. I’m recovering from surgery and was willing to pay extra for a kit. I did enjoy crocheting as well, so that was cool. Good Luck!!
Your genuine glee throughout this process makes my heart so happy! I've been knitting and crocheting for years, and that excitement of completing a project (particularly amigurumi like these) is something that I still haven't grown out of. Please don't ever stop crocheting critters :) Also, a notebook is a MUST for keeping track of rows and stitches, great job there lol
I taught myself to crochet using youtube videos and Walmart yarn supplies. I find wobbles kits are expensive if you google penguin free pattern you can make the same thing.
Being someone who crochets and has been for almost 2 years, this was fun to watch. It's finnicky and tricky, especially when reaching the end and having to figure out those decreases. That said, the penguin turned out amazingly!
I learned to crochet by using the wobbles and it’s amazing! It taught me sc, inc, dec, and how to do a mc. As well as stuffing, sewing, how to hold yarn, etc. and to all saying they’re too expensive, they are, but to me I feel like it was worth it since it got me into crochet and I’ve now been crocheting for 2 years now.
At that point aren't you better off just buying all the bits? So you've got more wool etc that you beef and don't have duplicate hooks? And there's sooooo many free patterns on revelry. All the patterns that Chloe shows are quite common
@@Crazee108 but if it's your first time, she may not understand how the pattern is written. Once she gets the hang of it i can see her expanding on other patterns and finding the easy peasie wool online or other wool to try.
I orderd mine online from the websites it was supposed to arrive on Monday i wind up getting it on Saturday which made me super happy because it came 2 days early also it have a sticker of the character on the wooble bits pouch i wish it comes with a little passport book
It is good that there are now resources for lefties to learn things with their dominant hand. I have to say though that there are benefits when you have the tool with your right hand when you are leftie. I was taught to knit (continental style) and crochet with my right hand and I'm actually happy about it from two reasons. I'm also dyslexic and trying to turn the right handed patterns to left when you have to work already understanding the whole thing would just make the whole thing too much work. But the other is that now I control the yarn with my left hand and that makes a big difference with stitch quality. You get your stitches a lot more even a lot faster because you control it with your dominant hand that has better coordination. I have found this to be true in crochet, knitting and even in weaving.
You had a ton of the same issues with the kit that I had getting it for christmas this year. Speaking of christmas If you are interested the Woobles does an advent calendar which I think would be a fun video to watch!

The nice (yet frustrating) thing about crochet is that if you mess up, you can always pull out your mistakes and start again. As a crocheter, Pierre looks fantastic! Just as a warning, it’s a craft with a rabbit hole. But it’s nice because of you know what you’re doing as you get better, you can create projects while watching your favorite show or movie.
If your struggling with tension I might be able to help You seem to wrap the yarn around your pinkie and then over your first finger I would suggest not wrapping it around your pinkie but simply going over the pinkie under the other fingers and then over the index finger squeezing a little with the index finger and if needed hold the index finger up a bit( you seem to do that a little as is) Hope this helps I also crochet left handed and this was the easiest way for me to do it And if you still have issues they do make rings you can use to help with the tension that sit on your index finger
I just finished my first kit the other day. I had an issue with some of the vidoes not working too. For most of them i just got on youtube and actually found a how to that woobles posted. The only one that was a problem for me was the eyes. I couldnt watch the instructions on inserting them and ended up putting them towaerds the bottom so now my deer is a little wonky
As a crochet designer myself who's been teaching on RUclips for over a decade now this was really interesting to watch. I've not heard of this company, but very cute simple characters. That said, sadly I feel this kit is overpriced and the yarn by the looks of it is just a t-shirt yarn, so you could easily buy these items elsewhere and learn for free online, but! there's always something fun about getting a kit, having it all in one place so there's a lot to be said for that. You did an amazing job!
No way, I watched your Videos when I was a Teen to improve my palette. Glad to see you are still crocheting on RUclips :) (That was 10 years ago) I also think the Kits are overpriced , but maybe one is a nice starting point if you are intimidated by picking up a new hobby?

As someone who has crocheted for years the only problem i have is the way they're showing you how to hold the hook, im not a lefty so it could be a lefty way. But the way i was taught made it a lot easier to control the tension of the stitches
From one lefty to another.... you can mirror videos on most displays or cellphone. Works good for me. Paper work i do both handed and decide during working with side i prefer. On a cosplay convention a had to sew a knop hole to the trowser.... and sew half way right hand and switched the back to left. Good friend and educated taylor freaked out. Was very funny
Those kits are adorable ❤. I think the price point also includes the one-on-one video calls that you can schedule for extra help, along with the stitch markers, hook, and needle. They also have a 2023 Avent calendar on their website that might still be available if you're interested, even though it's a little late for that.
omg your amigurumi came out so good ! It's impressive you could do it so well on your first time but if you plan on doing one of these again you should consider learning the proper way to do a magic ring , they probably explained the "chain 2" method which is more beginner-friendly but when you learn the actual ring method it comes out way better and it doesn't have that hole in the middle!
He looks great! This is how I learned to crochet a year ago. I think it’s totally worth the money. I was so overwhelmed with what I needed, it was nice to have everything ready to go! After my penguin, I moved onto bigger & better things. 🥳🥳 more crochet videos please!
LOVE that you did crochet! Saw these kits advertised and wondered how a beginner would really feel about them. I was so happy for you! First, you did fantastic, and second, it is SO satisfying to watch a piece appear as you work it, and I was so happy to watch you enjoy that satisfaction as you made that cute penguin! When I was learning, I found the Magic Ring tutorial from HookedByRobin REALLY helpful. Also, if you really enjoy the crochet experience, there are some great doggie sweater tutorials out there that are simpler than you might think. I bet your pup would love you to make one.
I absolutely love crochet. My sister had a baby 2 months ago and I’ve been making her teddies. So far I’ve made a large bunny and I’ve just finished a cute goat. I’ve now started a doll. I love watching people learn to crochet. I think it’s an amazing craft. I’m so glad my mom taught me to crochet.

That looks awesome and very neat for the first time! To me it's easy to pick up and though i'm left-handed like yourself I was going by right-handed tutorials on YT. By the end of the week I was making my own patterns. I miss crochet but I had to stop when I got epilepsy since my meds made me so darn tired I couldn't do more than 10 minutes.
I have gifted Woobles to my adult daughter and a couple friends who were skeptical about their crocheting abilities after a few failures. They are happily crocheting away now. Love the left hand videos and not a big waste of energy or materials if it turns out you aren't into it.
I’ve been trying to learn how to crochet as of recently as well. I had been recommended to get the Woobles kit as a starting point for learning. Unfortunately as I’m in Australia they don’t ship here or at least I haven’t found anywhere they sell through that does. So that is very devastating. It looks like it was a really good starting point for helping you learn the different stitches and gain more confidence even if there were some flaws within the videos. Hopefully they bring there kits over to Australia soon or at least make it that we can order them on their website.

you did a great job as a beginner crocheter, You'll find that after a few projects, your hands get used to holding the hook/project better and it's not as awkward. Then the tension in the stitches get more uniform. Just takes some practice. I still have my first projects around and I can look back at them and see the progress i've made.
I got my sister this penguin 2 xmases ago (not sure she made him) I didnt know they were in stores. Good for them. I agree the videos really need to be consistant start to finish. I wonder if some of that is beacuse certain yarn colors are so hard to see. Have you crocheted anything with black yarn yet 😅 you did great this was a fun one!
I believe you are doing quite well for a beginner! I am more of a knitter as have trouble keeping my crochet stitches constantly even. Cute kits. I think I would try one, but so expensive.😊

For someone that didn't realy know crochet e for your first "amigurumi", it's amazing job! Here in Brazil we have some kits like this and I love them for beguiners.
Mind you I have been crocheting for over 20 years just blankets, scarves and hats. I crochet really really tight. So my Wooble has not gone very well. Good luck with their videos because I couldn’t find the Pierre the Penguin. Good luck and I seriously love your videos ❤ take care!! from Ohio😊
Being a crocheter since I was 7-8 yrs old lol I made wonderful chains at that age.😂😂 but up until I had carpal tunnel cripple my hands/wrists, I was selling what is called graphgans, I have to say for your first time their instructions are fabulous teaching guides, you can go to the dollar tree and get you some of them small skeins of yarn there and make a family of penguins, 🐧 it’s a fun craft as long as you don’t do as I did let it do in your hands, so keep on it, the penguin is adorable and you can get the nose and eye and all them good things off Temu, or your local craft stores. I really like the yarn, I tend to crochet tight and regular yarn always splits up on me and I have to back out and redo a lot. Wobble yarn won’t do that so it is easier when learning.

Oh, THIS is what Woobles are! I was trying to see if I could find some cheap bulk yarn on Mercari and I kept getting recommended listings for Woobles crochet hooks, and I was confused what a Woobles crochet hook even was. EDIT: Also wanted to add, I'm actually an expert-level crocheter, and I regularly make complicated amigurumi (that's the term for stuffed animals, basically), so I have to say, watching someone who isn't as experienced as me learning how to do it actually brought a smile to my face. Reminds me of when I was learning and I could only make really simple patterns like chicks and octopus. It's hard now, but it gets easier the longer you do it. Also I really want their dinosaur kit. I love dinosaurs!
The lil plastic tags are usually called stitch counters - if you get into more involved projects, it definitely pays to invest in ones you like working with. Also I believe woobles use a chord instead of "yarn" yarn - while you probably can't get the specific type they make without buying from them, you can probably find a substitute buy looking up a cotton core chord or something similar - it makes for good pencil case material, and you can find free tutorials for really cute ones all over RUclips! I hope you continue to have a fun crochet journey ~
Ok Chloe girl, I just bought one of these…I was intrigued watching your video…and further more, I’m left handed! I got The Narwhal…they do actually have lefty instructions but I’m extra….not smart with this stuff…so we will See!!
Watched the whole video, got 2 ads. Which, honestly, is pretty good compared to some videos lately. I'm glad you did one of these! I've never crocheted before and I've been tempted by these being so cute. But it seems like a high price point for what you get in the end. It is nice you don't need anything but what comes in the bag and the videos, though I'd very much want a full video on what I'm making, not one that splits between projects.
If you are in the UK John Lewis does kits with a similar concept it comes with everything you need they are £15 for the little ones and £30 for the big ones, they are great.
I'm gunna trust you girl! I just bought the mint chocolate sleep powder for my daughter and I to try. 🎉 I'm not a cinnamon chocolate person, I wish it was plain.
I loved the Wooboes kit. The videos were amazing and I definitely felt like it taught me the basics and the confidence to start a project on my own outside the Woobles.

Hi! Coming from someone who learned to crochet with the Woobles, I think I should state something.
The Woobles aren't a "Crochet Kit." They are a "LEARN to Crochet Kit." If you know how to crochet Woobles kits are NOT for you. They're expensive for if you know how-$25 (If you don't get the hook) is a lot for a crochet kit, when you could get a very similar one for $10.
HOWEVER!
If you do not know how to crochet, the Woobles is how you do it. It has everything you need, plus videos for eye-learning. They teach you how to read crochet-lingo too, which not a lot of kits too, and also it does have leftie tutorials! Literally all you need is scissors. Also, the yarn that they have is amazing-it's literally the best for beginners, which is worth at least $15 of the price. Also, coming from a crocheter, they give you the best kind of hook possible. I love the woobles, but in no way should you get their projects if you already know how to crocheter (Unless it's their intermediate kits because those are actually good if you already know how because they teach you more advanced stitches and other stuff.)

I hate that these come in plastic packaging now, they didn't when they first came out. They came in a nice little cloth pouch. You also used to be able to choose if you wanted a hook with your set or not. It's so much unnecessary waste. It looks like they have different yarn now though than when I got my kit.
I think these kits are really cool, but crochet is so hard for me for some reason haha, it requires so much concentration!

As a crochet designer and teacher I think you did a phenomenal job! Your penguin is precious. I have my complaints about the company but overall it's good for beginners. Beginner Plus means you need to know some technique like color changes, different stitches, and possibly a little bit more embroidery. Good job you!

I didn’t have that problem. Mine was that I didn’t know if I crochet left of right handed because I’m cross-dominant. As a kid, I think I tried to learn left handed but didn’t get the hang of it (didn’t realize the cross-dominance until I was adult so thought I was left handed-despite using scissors/knives, throwing/dribbling balls, etc. righty-because I write lefty).
As an adult I tried again and learned that I crochet right handed. I’ve also taken a large gap of not crocheting for awhile and then had to take time to figure it out again 😅.
My grandmother taught me to crochet and I had to figure out the left handed thing on my own. I like that these kits have the left handed instructions. I was a child of the 60's so was pretty much forced to adapt to right handed scissors and sports equipment. I still do most things right handed except write and use utensils. Using a computer mouse was one of my biggest challenges when they came along. @@wintersprite ,
That safety pin thing is called as simple as it can get. A stitch marker to indeed mark your stitches.

I pretty late to the party, but another useful tool for her would be a stitch counter. Instead of making marks in a notebook when you finish a row, you could click the marker. There's also apps for it but that would be difficult to manage while also using the device to watch the video and follow directions.

If you’re planning on making more amigurumi like this, I’d say it’s definitely worth learning how to do a magic ring properly to avoid having a hole in the middle. For me it was one of the hardest things to get the hang of in crochet but once you figure it out you’ll never go back.
Also the "hidden" decrease. I learned to crochet well before the age of RUclips and didn't learn it until a few years ago. Makes everything look so much neater.
I go the moose before Christmas. Probably would not have bought it if it was full price, but it was on sale at my local grocery store. I absolutely loved it! It is the first time i was able to follow crochet instructions without getting frustrated enough to end up throwing it against the wall. First time i ever finished a crochet project and i have even done a few other crochet projects since.
Worst part about throwing a crochet project out of frustration as that it doesn't make a satisfying noise on impact. I need a crash or a bang to help ease the frustration 😂

It is a bit expensive for what you get. However I did like them for the convenience. When I was planning for a trip and debating on what yarn to pack for projects to work on the trip (I'm a dollmaker and can become indecisive really quickly) I ended up buying a woobles bundle that was discounted and I got a free tin for notions included. It was nice to have for the trip since it was a small project I could work during my down time and not have to worry about if I didn't pack the right materials or lose inspiration because my indecisive nature telling me I should of packed up a different project instead. Plus the bag the woobles come in are great for packing purposes!
I honestly loved the yarn and you can buy their yarn separately (and I've found knock off brands of that same yarn) but again the balls of yarn run a little pricey so I haven't bought those yet but waiting for those to be on sale as well since it was a good yarn to work with.

To me it seems expensive for what you are getting. There are so many great RUclipsrs that do tutorials and people selling Etsy patterns that also offer videos. I just think a fraction of the cost can be spent to put your own kit together. Especially since now the dollar stores are carrying kits and supplies. I've looked at these kits and just couldn't justify them.
In seeing your review I agree the videos should be better because that's probably the biggest part your paying for.
Jellyfish is not hard at all! There are many RUclips beginner videos on that.
I agree you can spend 30 dollars and have enough materials to make a few of these small amigurumis.

@@biancaramos8894 that's what I thought when I first saw these. I think now they care making money on the license deals they are getting. They had PacMan, harry Potter and so on. Plus the special matching hooks.
I began crocheting over 40 years ago. Only recently I've ventured to amigrium making. The jellyfish was my first and I followed a RUclips video. It was fun. Now I'm teaching my nephew, who is left handed. I use my front camera so it's lefty for him.
Beginner kit crochet need not coat more than $15 and I think that's generous.

It's so funny that you posted this, because I was looking for some thing to watch while I made the coffee cup Wooble for my boyfriend!
I had the same issue with the videos you did. I started with the lion because I've never crocheted before, and didn't want to mess the coffee cup up. For his snouts, I decided to use the magic loop tutorial instead of the chain loop. Issue being, it never told me how many stitches I needed in the magic loop for his snouts. Not even in the chain loop tutorial. I had to go forward to where she was sewing them on to count how many stitches she had.
So it definitely seems to me that things can fall through the cracks with their video system, but I'm still very impressed by it all. I would recommend them to friends!
I’m a beginner crocheter. I’ve made doll blankets, doll scarves, a little pumpkin, and wreath ornaments.
I’m cross-dominant so while I write, sew, bat, and putt left handed, I also do a lot of things right-handed, including crochet and knitting. As a kid, I tried to learn crochet from my great aunt, and I think I tried to do it left-handed but didn’t get anywhere. Then as an adult, I figured out I’m a righty at crochet. If I take a long gap from crocheting or knitting, I sometimes forget which hand to hold everything in.
Of course I also didn’t realize as a kid that I was cross-dominant and teachers always gave me left-handed scissors and thought I was left-handed for pretty much everything. It made some things tricky to learn or figure out.
Thus, I can relate to lefties on some things but not everything…and being cross-dominant can come with its own set of challenges.
Woobles taught me how to crochet and they are great kits in my opinion! I'm had to work on my first one with my grandma because I couldn't do it by myself at all, I'm already on my 2nd one and I've already finished the body all by myself!
I will never get tired of "I don't know how to do this, let's do it!" videos from Chloe! First, she is so talented, she makes everything look easy. Second, she makes me want to create art myself! Just love these vids. Hope the wedding preps are going well!

I started crocheting in the middle of last year and already have a good enough grasp on it that I don't feel the need to start with something like the Woobles but I got one for a friend. Also, the reason that the colors changed with some of the videos might have to do with how visible the yarn is fro the instructions.
I personally don't have any opinions with how the videos are not the same color or anything because I learned from just searching on RUclips and experimenting until I got it right, and plushies like those are something I don't enjoy making purely because of how much counting there is. I enjoy things like clothing where i can play with stitches and implement my knowledge instead of just following a tutorial all the way through.
I learned to crochet with the woobles bunny kit during covid lockdown. I’ve since become intermediate and I’ve even picked up knitting! I absolutely love working on my projects.

I love to crochet and I mainly make amigurumi so I've been intrigued by these Woobles. They are far too expensive for my liking, though. I get why the price is so high and I don't think it's because of the videos. I think the high price is mainly because you have a start for your first part. On the one hand it's nice to have, on the other it feels like a bit of a waste. You're not making your amigurumi in one piece, so you need to learn how to do a magic ring anyway (or another way of starting). They look adorable, but not for that price. Your first amigurumi looks amazing, though! (Better than my first one)
I did amigurumis (easy ones like the Mario one up shroom) when I was 10. These Kits seem to be way overpriced.

I’m a visual learner and I had a very hard time getting the hang on where to start before I bought a kit a few weeks ago. I’m still a newbie but I don’t think I would have ever gotten the hang of it without those tutorial videos. For some people it’s “convenience” but for people like me it’s an easy (not so cheap) way to get down the basic step by step basics before throwing yourself into stitches and patterns you have no idea how to use or read.
@Emmakate1306 I struggled learning to crochet for so long before I found free online tutorials to help me out. I'm glad these kits helped you, but they are very expensive for what you get, especially considering the countless free resources online. If you can afford this, it's great, but there are so many cheaper options.
Woobles are so nice my aunt got me into crocheting and also got me a reindeer woobles kit and it turned out amazing! Also you did super great on pier!

I started with a wobble back in August of last year (so a whole 6 months ago lol). A friend bought it because she wanted the plush but gave it to me to do it for her because she knew I had crocheted before. Needless to say that wonky screwed up owl turned into a full on obsession! I've made probably 50 or so amigurumi pieces and have plans for a bunch more! Get hooked my friends 😊
Wow that's expensive to me. But i do get the novelty. Could get multiple yarns and hooks and free patterns or videos online to make multiple things. And for stitch markers you can just use another different coloured piece of yarn and weave the ends in with a hook. But still, they're cute. And Good job!😊

i just bought my mother one and am teaching her step-by-step using the pdf pattern that came with it. the first two instruction videos were really helpful to get her on track and the yarn is super easy to work with, plus, it comes with everything you need. yes, it's pricey, but the videos look very beginner-friendly and to get all the colors you need, it will cost more than $30.

Got this kit last year (paid a crazy amount as I’m in the uk) but found it so worth it. Went for this kit as so many people recommended it for beginners and I’m glad I did. Made understanding things so easy

I just finished the Chick yesterday and Bunny today. I have never done any crocheting before. I purchased a kit of 4 woobles. I have Penguin and Fox remaining. It too k me forever ( I thought) to understand the difference between a single stitch and increase stitch. I wish there had been a better overview at the beginning. At one point I felt stupid. My husband enjoyed my struggle. Once I got into it I think they turned out cute. Yes they are a bit pricey. I’m recovering from surgery and was willing to pay extra for a kit. I did enjoy crocheting as well, so that was cool. Good Luck!!
Your genuine glee throughout this process makes my heart so happy! I've been knitting and crocheting for years, and that excitement of completing a project (particularly amigurumi like these) is something that I still haven't grown out of. Please don't ever stop crocheting critters :)

I taught myself to crochet using youtube videos and Walmart yarn supplies. I find wobbles kits are expensive if you google penguin free pattern you can make the same thing.
Being someone who crochets and has been for almost 2 years, this was fun to watch. It's finnicky and tricky, especially when reaching the end and having to figure out those decreases. That said, the penguin turned out amazingly!
I learned to crochet by using the wobbles and it’s amazing! It taught me sc, inc, dec, and how to do a mc. As well as stuffing, sewing, how to hold yarn, etc. and to all saying they’re too expensive, they are, but to me I feel like it was worth it since it got me into crochet and I’ve now been crocheting for 2 years now.

At that point aren't you better off just buying all the bits? So you've got more wool etc that you beef and don't have duplicate hooks? And there's sooooo many free patterns on revelry. All the patterns that Chloe shows are quite common
@@Crazee108 but if it's your first time, she may not understand how the pattern is written. Once she gets the hang of it i can see her expanding on other patterns and finding the easy peasie wool online or other wool to try.
I orderd mine online from the websites it was supposed to arrive on Monday i wind up getting it on Saturday which made me super happy because it came 2 days early also it have a sticker of the character on the wooble bits pouch i wish it comes with a little passport book
It is good that there are now resources for lefties to learn things with their dominant hand. I have to say though that there are benefits when you have the tool with your right hand when you are leftie. I was taught to knit (continental style) and crochet with my right hand and I'm actually happy about it from two reasons. I'm also dyslexic and trying to turn the right handed patterns to left when you have to work already understanding the whole thing would just make the whole thing too much work. But the other is that now I control the yarn with my left hand and that makes a big difference with stitch quality. You get your stitches a lot more even a lot faster because you control it with your dominant hand that has better coordination. I have found this to be true in crochet, knitting and even in weaving.
Me, a lefty, with the exact same Pierre the Penguin Woobles kit I have attempted twice now and given up on... well now i have to attempt it again.

The nice (yet frustrating) thing about crochet is that if you mess up, you can always pull out your mistakes and start again. As a crocheter, Pierre looks fantastic! Just as a warning, it’s a craft with a rabbit hole. But it’s nice because of you know what you’re doing as you get better, you can create projects while watching your favorite show or movie.
If your struggling with tension I might be able to help
You seem to wrap the yarn around your pinkie and then over your first finger I would suggest not wrapping it around your pinkie but simply going over the pinkie under the other fingers and then over the index finger squeezing a little with the index finger and if needed hold the index finger up a bit( you seem to do that a little as is)

And if you still have issues they do make rings you can use to help with the tension that sit on your index finger

I just finished my first kit the other day. I had an issue with some of the vidoes not working too. For most of them i just got on youtube and actually found a how to that woobles posted. The only one that was a problem for me was the eyes. I couldnt watch the instructions on inserting them and ended up putting them towaerds the bottom so now my deer is a little wonky
As a crochet designer myself who's been teaching on RUclips for over a decade now this was really interesting to watch. I've not heard of this company, but very cute simple characters. That said, sadly I feel this kit is overpriced and the yarn by the looks of it is just a t-shirt yarn, so you could easily buy these items elsewhere and learn for free online, but! there's always something fun about getting a kit, having it all in one place so there's a lot to be said for that. You did an amazing job!
Oh and left handed tutorials are just right handed tutorials flipped, they're not usually separately filmed.

As someone who has crocheted for years the only problem i have is the way they're showing you how to hold the hook, im not a lefty so it could be a lefty way. But the way i was taught made it a lot easier to control the tension of the stitches

From one lefty to another.... you can mirror videos on most displays or cellphone. Works good for me. Paper work i do both handed and decide during working with side i prefer. On a cosplay convention a had to sew a knop hole to the trowser.... and sew half way right hand and switched the back to left. Good friend and educated taylor freaked out. Was very funny
Those kits are adorable ❤. I think the price point also includes the one-on-one video calls that you can schedule for extra help, along with the stitch markers, hook, and needle. They also have a 2023 Avent calendar on their website that might still be available if you're interested, even though it's a little late for that.
My aunt recommended Woobles when I began! I haven’t tried them but this is a great vid to see how they work!

omg your amigurumi came out so good ! It's impressive you could do it so well on your first time but if you plan on doing one of these again you should consider learning the proper way to do a magic ring , they probably explained the "chain 2" method which is more beginner-friendly but when you learn the actual ring method it comes out way better and it doesn't have that hole in the middle!

LOVE that you did crochet! Saw these kits advertised and wondered how a beginner would really feel about them. I was so happy for you! First, you did fantastic, and second, it is SO satisfying to watch a piece appear as you work it, and I was so happy to watch you enjoy that satisfaction as you made that cute penguin! When I was learning, I found the Magic Ring tutorial from HookedByRobin REALLY helpful. Also, if you really enjoy the crochet experience, there are some great doggie sweater tutorials out there that are simpler than you might think. I bet your pup would love you to make one.
I absolutely love crochet. My sister had a baby 2 months ago and I’ve been making her teddies. So far I’ve made a large bunny and I’ve just finished a cute goat. I’ve now started a doll.

That looks awesome and very neat for the first time! To me it's easy to pick up and though i'm left-handed like yourself I was going by right-handed tutorials on YT. By the end of the week I was making my own patterns. I miss crochet but I had to stop when I got epilepsy since my meds made me so darn tired I couldn't do more than 10 minutes.
I have gifted Woobles to my adult daughter and a couple friends who were skeptical about their crocheting abilities after a few failures. They are happily crocheting away now. Love the left hand videos and not a big waste of energy or materials if it turns out you aren't into it.
I’ve been trying to learn how to crochet as of recently as well. I had been recommended to get the Woobles kit as a starting point for learning. Unfortunately as I’m in Australia they don’t ship here or at least I haven’t found anywhere they sell through that does. So that is very devastating. It looks like it was a really good starting point for helping you learn the different stitches and gain more confidence even if there were some flaws within the videos. Hopefully they bring there kits over to Australia soon or at least make it that we can order them on their website.

i've been crocheting for 2 years and that looks incredible great job!
you did a great job as a beginner crocheter, You'll find that after a few projects, your hands get used to holding the hook/project better and it's not as awkward. Then the tension in the stitches get more uniform. Just takes some practice. I still have my first projects around and I can look back at them and see the progress i've made.

I believe you are doing quite well for a beginner! I am more of a knitter as have trouble keeping my crochet stitches constantly even. Cute kits. I think I would try one, but so expensive.😊

Here in Brazil we have some kits like this and I love them for beguiners.

Being a crocheter since I was 7-8 yrs old lol I made wonderful chains at that age.😂😂 but up until I had carpal tunnel cripple my hands/wrists, I was selling what is called graphgans, I have to say for your first time their instructions are fabulous teaching guides, you can go to the dollar tree and get you some of them small skeins of yarn there and make a family of penguins, 🐧 it’s a fun craft as long as you don’t do as I did let it do in your hands, so keep on it, the penguin is adorable and you can get the nose and eye and all them good things off Temu, or your local craft stores. I really like the yarn, I tend to crochet tight and regular yarn always splits up on me and I have to back out and redo a lot. Wobble yarn won’t do that so it is easier when learning.

Oh, THIS is what Woobles are! I was trying to see if I could find some cheap bulk yarn on Mercari and I kept getting recommended listings for Woobles crochet hooks, and I was confused what a Woobles crochet hook even was.
EDIT: Also wanted to add, I'm actually an expert-level crocheter, and I regularly make complicated amigurumi (that's the term for stuffed animals, basically), so I have to say, watching someone who isn't as experienced as me learning how to do it actually brought a smile to my face. Reminds me of when I was learning and I could only make really simple patterns like chicks and octopus. It's hard now, but it gets easier the longer you do it. Also I really want their dinosaur kit. I love dinosaurs!
The lil plastic tags are usually called stitch counters - if you get into more involved projects, it definitely pays to invest in ones you like working with. Also I believe woobles use a chord instead of "yarn" yarn - while you probably can't get the specific type they make without buying from them, you can probably find a substitute buy looking up a cotton core chord or something similar - it makes for good pencil case material, and you can find free tutorials for really cute ones all over RUclips! I hope you continue to have a fun crochet journey ~

I'm glad you did one of these! I've never crocheted before and I've been tempted by these being so cute. But it seems like a high price point for what you get in the end. It is nice you don't need anything but what comes in the bag and the videos, though I'd very much want a full video on what I'm making, not one that splits between projects.
If you are in the UK John Lewis does kits with a similar concept it comes with everything you need they are £15 for the little ones and £30 for the big ones, they are great.

I loved the Wooboes kit. The videos were amazing and I definitely felt like it taught me the basics and the confidence to start a project on my own outside the Woobles.
