"I'm not crazy, I just don't give a fuck!" is one of my favorite lines of all time.
Willy's scenes stole the movie.
Who else would love to see Reggie and Samantha come back for NIGHT OF THE COMET 2 ! Damn we need a sequel
SAVINI JASON REVIEWS I know right I hear that are doing a remake later👏
YES!!!! That would be awesome.
Ya know, normally I would disagree because of all the bad reboots but if it was done with respect for the origional like the first 2 seasons of cobra Kai, it could be amazing.
My only reservation is that I have no idea where the story could go while keeping some 80s camp to it.
I don't know about that
Undeniably the best movie ever.
Catherine Mary Stewart is still stunning.
Amazing film that deserves a sequel. Those of us teenagers during the early 80s were EXTREMELY blessed to grow up in that era! 😁
Best decade ever.
Nah, no more sequels. Let the work and our memories stand on their own.
"Daddy would have gotten us Uzis!" Wow, turns out my favorite line from the movie was improvised. What a fun film!
Please, God please don't let Hollywood do a remake of this great movie! Just leave it alone!
Amen to that! All the remakes completely suck! I don’t even go to the movie theaters anymore. I would say 80% of the movies are remakes. No one creates scripts and movie ideas anymore.
The Cinedome billboard at 10:18 is just classic, you don't see lineups like that these days. Man, I miss the 80's.
they say cinema is suffering these days, so how about replay 80s and 90s cultish movies and see us (now) old cronies queue up and be in our element for one weekend, we'd even pay for the overpriced popcorn and other stuff, it'd be a blast.
Night of the Comet is one of my all time favorite movies, it deserves the attention it's still getting today. And it had two very strong, very capable women leads...something that Hollywood keeps telling us didn't exist back then. Both leads were great and should have had much bigger careers. Katherine Mary Stewart was fairly well known in the 80's but deserved more attention...and she's still beautiful!
She was a lot more popular than the blonde
I am one of the legions of people who grew up with this movie and still carry it in their heart. This is the first interview I have ever seen with the leads- and it's the cherry on the top that they are such lovely, brilliant ladies on top of everything else the movie represents.
❤️🔥
👍👍👍👍🔪
You should buy the blu ray! It includes this interview and some other fun extras. Plus the movie looks great! I had the opportunity to meet both Kelli and Catherine at NJ Horror Con a couple of years ago, got their autos, pics with them and chatted for about 15 minutes. So genuine and lovely and funny. Gotta say I fangirled out lol
Me too! Loved this movie as a kid.
Had a crush on Catherine back in the day... and she still looks good today.
You read my mind here bro.
I remember watching this many times on cable back in the day. What a fun movie. It had the perfect balance of humor and horror.
I had a childhood crush on CMS and she is still stunning. She was the leading lady in most of my favorite popcorn flicks from the 80's.
The Last Starfighter
@@E-Man-1313 Oooooh yeah!
'Dudes' also starring Jon cryer...CMS was so hot in that as well.
Weekend at Bernies 1989, super lovely!
This movie gives me nostalgia like nothing else really. Brilliantly done with two mega babes.
Facts especially on the mega babes part.
The blonde was the cheerleader in Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
Also in Night of The Comet is Michael Bowen, he's the same guy who played Uncle Jack the white supremacist gang leader who kidnapped Jessie in Breaking Bad, he was also Nicholas Cage's rival in the 1983 movie Valley Girl.
@@dukecraig2402 I watched Night Of The Comet as a kid and I truly loved that movie. I have watched about 20 times now and it will always be a lifelong fav for me. They both remained friends for life off set which is so sweet. I always wanted to know what he did to Catherine Mary Stewart when they were both lying down together in the projector room when she recoils and shouts out LARRY!! I thought he was just maybe being rude when I was just a kid but now it looks like he was rubbing his boner bell end against he butt ola or something like that.
I LOVE this movie and these two lovely ladies!! As time goes on it just gets more beloved and nostalgic. My favorite line in the movie..."You were born with an asshole Doris. You don't need Chuck." LOL
Lol ❤
Catherine Mary Stewart....Loved Her!!!!! Beautiful as hell!
Kelli still has that Totes Adorbs voice from the movie. ❤❤❤
I saw this movie with my mom back in 84 in the theater!! I remember it vividly, and she never went to the movies with me. But she liked it too.
And wow Catherine Mary Stewart, still looks absolutely beautiful.
wow she aged so well still beautiful i had the biggest crush on her growing up, night of the comet
was my favorite movie when i was young
I have a list of what I call "comfort movies" that I watch when I have a bad anxiety day. Night of the Comet is probably the one I watch the most. It always helps me relax and smile. It's right up at the top of my list with TRON and The Princess Bride.
That's the thing, it's such a feel good movie despite it's premise! I saw it in the mid 90s when a friend of mine recommended it to me after I scoffed at the cover looking a bit 'ropey' (I actually love the cover now - the VHS British release cover). I watched it one Saturday afternoon and instantly fell in love with both the movie and Kelli Maroney and Catherine Mary Stewart (especially Kelli, my god!) 😍😍
This film so captures the look feel and ironically optimistic outlook the early 80s promised. Plus with all the “feminist only” films of late just not getting the real feel of actual “girl power”, it’s nice to see a movie where it doesn’t feel forced at all.
Never got a release outside of North America - yet it was still the first movie I ever BOUGHT on VHS.
Saw it at the theater in 84, I was 12.. seen it at least 200 times. The girls are still beautiful after all these years.
The 70s and 80s were such an amazing time to grow up.
This is definitely one of my favorite movies from the 80s. It was such a great science fiction movie also it had a lot of 80s style and also a lot of 80s pop. that’s one thing. The movies now are missing that the 80s and the 90s had. We had great movies. People were creating ideas and not remaking movies. The music was amazing that went with the movie. The albums were amazing and the fashion was very iconic.
I simply love this movie, and it has all the right elements. It has horror, comedy and sci-fi elements with two beautiful, female leaves, simply the best.
80s movies were the best!!!
Anyone else see this in the theatre?
This was and will always be one of my favorite movies. It's great to hear from these two how much fun it was but how it's impacted them beyond what they might have expected.
Nothing beats 80’s horror 👌🏼
70s hottor
I agree 100% 80s horror genre is amazing!!!!!
Great movie. I recently bought the DVD to show my kids as they get old enough to watch this stuff.
In 1984 I thought Catherine Mary Steward was the standard of beauty...fast forward to 2023 and I still think that :) Thanks for posting this great to hear the back story.
Wow! Both ladies are still beautiful !!
Long live the 80s.
Saw it in the theater and about 10 times after. Stil one of my favs from the 80s.
Night of the comet has always been a favorite movie of mine ever since the first time I saw it
im listening to the songs on you tube. better lives back then.
I’m 20 my dad introduced me to this movie when I was 15 and I completely loved this movie! It was so fun to watch and the actresses did such an amazing job portraying their characters.
My friend and I saw this at the theater when we were 13. It is one of the fondest memories I have as a young teenager. It is amazing how great it was considering the budget they had. The actors did such a wonderful job making it so scary and fun. I think a sequel would be pretty cool. The return of the comet would be welcome.
every cent, perfectly spent. perfectly cast & great story and era..when LA was LA!
you make a fabulous point in your title, 'return of the comet'..perfect..the comet comes back!
..swinging around its eccentric orbit. earth has repopulated..but forgot the lessons of the past.
Boom..Sam & Alex to the rescue, once more! ☄w
To this day one of my favorite movies..EXCELLENT
Two superb actress! Thank you both for giving us this CLASSIC movie!
Kelli's improvised line about the Uzi submachinegun was one of the most memorable to my teenage ears.
Those two ladies are Class Acts. It's awesome to see humbleness in actresses/actors
One of my favorite movies growing up.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this movie!!! 🍿🎥 I even had a poster, courtesy from the local video store, on my wall as a teen. This movie is one of my favorites of all time...
watching this movie, is like taking a deep breath of the 80's, and feeling it inside of you.
The best decade of my life.
Yes We Love This Great Exciting Movie We taped it off TV years ago & watch it often Thanks for Sharing this video👍 11/6/23✨️11:05pm
Great movie. Both women are still amazingly beautiful ❤
I was so in love with KMS!! The Last Starfighter and Weekend at Bernie's were my favorites!
Saw this in the theaters in 1984 and loved it. I just bought the soundtrack on iTunes recently.
Loved this movie!! Saw it in 1984 in Thousand Oaks CA. What a time to be alive!
My favorite movie when it came to fashion at the time. I dressed like Regina after this. 😂
One of the greatest scenes in a movie, the elevator ride. A cute cheerleader humming "ride of the valkyries" from Apocalypse Now, with a Mac10!
It has that Bananarama vibe I love this movie
Cathy, you look great, and Kelli, you're awesome! You look different in the sense that you're a woman now and not a girl, but you STILL have that cute quality to yourself that you had back then. Your smile is so endearing.......SO CUTE! You really made the movie.
I actually have the movie cued up in my RUclips playlist right now to watch later.
I think it would be great (NIGHT OF THE COMET) is made into a show series now, and have actresses (KELLI MARONEY) & (CATHERINE MARY STEWART) play side characters in it.
The dynamic duo!
very underrated film. the re-watch value of the film is still very high even though it was made in the 80s!
Beautiful then..... beautiful now!!!!
i love both of them ! thanks for the movies and interview !
LOVE this movie!
It’s a great movie. I love it a lot
Great interview and such pleasant likeable girls as Kelli and Catherine. Saw 'chopping Mall'' recently with Kelli, such a hardworking fun actor of the time. We can all agree the 80s were different days back then, not just in movies but musically and dare I say, culturally. It's a cliche on RUclips to say '80s time machine, who's coming with me' but sometimes even for just one day you'd love to.
Grew in 80s & 90s ,this was one of joy movies when I caught it on TV ,you know you had plan around favorite TV & movies then lol but on weekends it was so bad programming and a jewel like this came on you're dropping everything for it
This movie is amaze! I remember seeing it long time ago and then never could find it to watch until I did find it and now can watch it anytime. I love this movie then and now!
The golden age of Low budget films.
Every nickel was up on the screen.
☄🧟♂Ahhh, the 80's. My yellow '71 Plymouth Satellite (Daisy Duke clone!) with a 440, my guitar & amp, my job at a Dodge dealership..
🧟♀boating with my bro, friends & cousins on the endless summer weekends..The music! The movies!
🧟♂The 80's were amazing. It's funny how my brain recalls the 80's better than any decade, since.
🧟♀Night of the Comet? Comedy/horror GOLD. It's sweet that it is on RUclips here, for free! _Sequel time!_ ..better late, than never!☄
Awesome movie! Got to watch this later with my son and he fell in love with it! We watch it at least once a year.
I remember watching this when it first came out when I was a kid. It was my favorite movie for a long time.
I'm watching this on TV right now, thought I would look them up. One of my favorite movies, I have the DVD, but still like to watch when it's on. A great movie! Great cast! Great music! Ladies, you look great! Thank you!
I love this movie
I grew up with "The Last Starfighter", and I would say "DragonSlayer", but "Night of the Comet" was a movie I didn't discovery till around 2000s for me.
It's been a great movie fo rme, to re-live the 80s, the teen and girl-fun. I kind of became a bit of a loner in high school actually; i missed out on teen and girl-fun. And, I got into zombie movies with the 2004 or 5 "Dawn of the Dead."
I'm coming from a science and intellectual type of person. I read a lot; but, I got into these zombie movies. I love Night of the Dead, and the 1978 Dawn of the Dead, and then I found "Night of the Comet." These are great social commentary, as well as re-living childhood spirit and fun! Well, Night of the Comet is
It's kind of a spoof, but not spoof for spoof sake. It's got that comic book feel, but it's a zombie movie.
I guess I good way to put it, girl fun, is to experience freedom to rock out!
She had a small role in the 1981 Sylvester Stallone movie Night Hawks.
She's the girl behind the counter that Rutger Hauer flirts with while he planting a bomb in a store, might be the first movie she was in.
Night Hawks is a very good movie, definitely one of Stallone's best
i so hope you girls make cameos, if theres ever a remake!
Love this movie 😇
LOVE this movie! Probably watched it at least a dozen times. Just watched Chopping Mall and then this over the weekend.
...Catherine Mary Stewart = "The eyes have it"! 💖 🤗
Super fun movie
Catherine Mary Stewart - such a crush.
This movie, Terror Vision, Night of the Creeps, Critters were some of the my fav 80’s Horror Movies oh snap Fright Night the original from 86’
I absolutely loved this movie back in the 80's lol!
I loved it so much that have it in my collection.
I saw this movie years ago and omg I loved it! Loved these girls!
I will always love this movie.
Good lord they’re as gorgeous here as they were in the movie, maybe more
This is a damn near perfect horror movie. Only thing missing was a shot of the comet
I loved this movie simply because of the comedy element within a scary movie and sam and reggie were soooooo awesome!
Both ladies are still beautiful. I have everyone of Catherine's movies. She's one of my favorite actresses and still makes my heart race heart race when I see her.
💖🌹🥰🌷😍🔥
Ever notice her in the 1981 Sylvester Stallone movie Night Hawks? She only has a very small part, may be the first movie she was ever in.
I think it's one of Stallone's best movies.
@@dukecraig2402 thanks for the heads up I'm definitely going to check 👍

She plays the girl behind the counter in a department store that Rutger Hauer flirts with to distract her while he plants a bomb in the place.
Fun movie Mary had the best hair ever 😍.
I love this movie. I have been joking that the eclipse, with every going out to see it, is just like the movie.
Coolest interview! I don’t know how many times I watched thie movie. “ not even an egg McMuffin?” My favorite line.
Watched this on HBO probably 1986 or so. Still a great movie
It's one of my all time favourite movies. My friends and I probably watched it at least 25 times way back when. We could quote the dialogue along with the movie.
It was the same thing with the original "The Hills Have Eyes".
my favorite movie I can watch it every day
Still one of my favorite movies.
Love Night Of The Comet. They both still look great by the way ❤️🔥
I still use the phrase "Beat feet Uncle Hector" to this day. I get "Huh?" a lot. I tell them it's from Night of the Comet and they usually respond with "Oh yea". I've always loved this movie.
As soon as Kelli smiles...❤❤😍
I really loved this movie when growing up in dublin ireland😊
Great interviews. Thank you.
Yes great indeed.
This era, this movie.
Awesome ☻
