    If you know the size of the square unfinished then you can do a grid pattern as you have done, but instead of separate squares just do a huge square with lines all the way down & across with no gaps. It saves fabric & lots of time. Like cutting brownies in a pan. Easier to set up too.
    Also use transfer tape on mat (mat is sticky & holds transfer tape) then peel up paper so sticky part is exposed, place fabric on transfer tape. Keeps mat clean & sticky longer.

    Is the Cricut in this video the most recent model they've released? The Cricut Explore 3?
