Great info Angie. I used the ultra hold Heat N Bond on felt to make felt eyes for my amigurumi. I made quite a few eyes but never thought that leaving the paper on would dull my blade. But I guess it's like scissors you don't want to cut paper with your fabric scissors.
Hey Angie! So glad you made this video. I actually like the fraying around the image for certain projects, gives it a distress look. Either way, thanks again! Happy Crafting! 🤗
Hello Angie. Love your videos! Do you have a video on how to use Design Space to prepare an uploaded pattern for cutting on the Cricut Maker? I can upload the file, but have no idea what to do next. Thanks!
Hi, i am trying to use the the sewable interfacing on my crciut explore, i got the pink mat, the pink blade, but for some reason when my cricut cuts it tugs the fabric with it when it goes to make the next cut. its a 6x7 design as i am making greek letters, maybe i put the interfacing on wrong?
Thanks for this great video. I am new to Cricut and will be cutting fabric exclusively to decorate hats - so no sewing, just fabric paints to edge them. Just want to confirm, when using iron-on bonding with paper, do you put the paper side down or the fabric side down to cut? In the video it looked like you put the paper side down?
I saw some denim earrings and was wondering if I back them with HTV and cut them, would that work in a similar way as using interfacing? I wasn't sure how the denim would differ from faux leather.
Do you think dissolvable interfacing would work ? I make clothing and don’t want all my pieces to have interfacing (I am interested in the cricut venture, not the maker, which is why I ask)
I’ve tried to go over the same image twice when it doesn’t get done properly and it’s still it will like not cut the same. It’ll cut slightly off, so I was testing that out before doing that on like a huge project.
@AngieHolden I'm kinda new to the fabric part I've been use to vinyl so forgive my ignorance lol the bonding stuff won't stick to the blade and ruin it will it? I'm wondering why they make a bonded fabric blade if a regular one will work?
@AngieHolden thank you I have both and I have used both now after your answer and I think the blade works better anyway 😄 have u ever used the knife blade to cut wood
Years ago I did a Silhouette of lucille ball using cricut and heat n bond purple. It did great. All the little cuts in her hair and face showed. BTW this was made for a mug rug so it wasn't huge. Good quality fabric works best.

This was a great video. I have not tried fabric yet, so this info will help me get the best results. Thanks!!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you!!! Pretty excited to try this now
Thank you Angie 😊.
No problem 😊
Omg thank you so much. I didnt know its exactly like the fine point. Thats why it doesnt show up as an option in the design space
Happy to help!
Thank you so much for sharing this tips💝
No problem 😊

Great idea!
Thanks for these great tips Angie.
Oh wow! I really needed this info! Just to be sure, you said to use the rotary blade if we have a maker. Thanks!
Yep I would always use the rotary blade if I had the maker.
Great, great video! Thank you, Angie!
You are so welcome!
This was great. Thanks so much.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I seen a video recently by someone where they used freezer paper instead, it seemed to do well.
Yep you can do that!
I’ve learned so much from you thank you
I'm so glad!
Thank you so much for that great information!
You are so welcome!

I have serveral of them. Not sure what you are trying to make?
Hi! I m trying to learn how to use sew in interfacing . I get the leaving the backing on but do I still mirror the design ?
You would NOT mirror the design if you are cutting backing side down. If you put the fabric good side down, then you would mirror.
This was a great video!!! TY I'm curious do you think I could try the misty fuse? Have you tried that one on the cricket for appliqué?
Not yet!
Great video wow❤
Thank you 🤗

It can tug on it with that blade and machine. Make sure it is stuck down well to the mat and make sure your design is not too intricate.
Thanks
So sorry I can’t find the setting on my cricut maker,, what setting do I use is my question
I would use a bonded fabric setting if you can find it! Or a light cotton setting would probably work.
I can’t find the info I need. How small can this blade cut? I want to make very small script names.
Fabric cannot really be cut into thin lines with a Cricut.
Thanks very informative. Where did you get the shelves that your Cricut are on?
Just from wayfair!
Would I be able to cut designs and embroider around it on my embroidery machine. Using the heat and bond sewable? I'm thinking twill for a jacket?
Yes you can!
Did you use the rotary blade on that perfect cut? Thanks for this great information!
For bonded fabric, you can get pretty good cuts with the fabric blade but yes a rotary blade will make the best cuts.
@@AngieHolden thanks!

I did put the paper side down. That is what I would recommend.
If you keep the paper on, does the paper go on the mat or facing up? Thanks!
I do paper on the mat so facing down.
@@AngieHolden thanks!
Can you use the cricut to cut sqaures for quilting?
You would want the Maker or Maker 3 and the rotary blade for that.
I saw some denim earrings and was wondering if I back them with HTV and cut them, would that work in a similar way as using interfacing? I wasn't sure how the denim would differ from faux leather.
I haven't tried that? Maybe?
Do you think dissolvable interfacing would work ? I make clothing and don’t want all my pieces to have interfacing (I am interested in the cricut venture, not the maker, which is why I ask)
Good question! I think it would actually! You just need to make the fabric stiff enough to cut. I do think it would have ragged edges.
Is that HTV on your shirt? How long does a shirt/htv hold up, typically, please? Thanks! Back to the show!
It is HTV on my shirt. Depends on how rough I am on it but 20 washes I would say?
@@AngieHolden Thanks. That not very long. Oh, well.
I’ve tried to go over the same image twice when it doesn’t get done properly and it’s still it will like not cut the same. It’ll cut slightly off, so I was testing that out before doing that on like a huge project.
You would need to hit the go button on your machine a second time BEFORE unloading your mat to get it over the same area.
So a regular fabric rotary blade won't cut with the bonding on the back?
Yes it will!
@AngieHolden I'm kinda new to the fabric part I've been use to vinyl so forgive my ignorance lol the bonding stuff won't stick to the blade and ruin it will it? I'm wondering why they make a bonded fabric blade if a regular one will work?
The bonded fabric blade was made for the Explore machines which will not accept a rotary blade.
@AngieHolden thank you I have both and I have used both now after your answer and I think the blade works better anyway 😄 have u ever used the knife blade to cut wood
Can the rotary blade used on explore air 2?
No it cannot.
Thank you
But what if you’re cutting fabric for quilting? You don’t need it to be bonded?
Then you would need the maker. I have a video in doing that.
How intricate a cut can you make with bonded material?
Fairly intricate but super small pieces just will not work.
Years ago I did a Silhouette of lucille ball using cricut and heat n bond purple. It did great. All the little cuts in her hair and face showed. BTW this was made for a mug rug so it wasn't huge. Good quality fabric works best.
Thank you my sublimation yen! You’re the best!
You're welcome 😊
What if you're cutting a pattern for clothes
I would use a maker and the rotary blade so you don’t have to bond your fabric.
so helpful!! Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
