Funnily enough I never owned Dior Homme Intense or Parfum, just smelled in a shop on strip; I know it's silly but one of the turn offs is the stupid non imaginative name.
Terrible shame about the presentation. Can't say that I'm surprised though. A lot of unacknowledged cutbacks in the luxury sector since the pandemic, and even then, most quality boundaries are illusory. Barring budget constraints, the people that make celeb scents or dupes get their materials and perfumers from the same place niche brands do. @@ethanrrs yeah I thought it could be a super bad batch. I’m probably not going back to this fragrance for a while but I might try something else. I’m trying to see if I can find a discovery set.
@@SeldomlyOften they do make sets on their website that you can choose what samples you'd like from what I've seen, and I'm sure you can find pre-made ones online. I think I might go for that too to try the ones I haven't seen at the shop I visit in NYC.
I also heard layering the original with the extrait does actually work really well since the original projects a bit more and is more top-note heavy, and the extrait helps with the trail and longevity -- but that would be something id personally only try from discovery samples/travel packs and if it ends up becoming a favorite I might hit up discounters for the original and keep reupping on travel sizes of the extrait to add body to the scent as needed. But thats just a thought I've been playing around with in my head
@@ethanrrs yes, I also heard great stuff from people layering extraits to edps, Serge Lutens even has an extrait line (they call confit) specifically designed for layering like that 👍
I get where you’re coming from with regard to poor quality control. Seen this with Profumum Roma, particularly the quality of their glass bottles they consider acceptable. I have a bad one. Still it’s the fragrance inside that counts!
@@cowboycrunchies I was lucky with my Profumum Roma but I totally understand your point. Yes, it’s the liquid that counts but when a bottle is expensive and the house is touting luxury, it’s a matter of principle 😉
great review!
i feel exactly the same about this fragrance.
not worth the price at all.
It just feels so… “forced”
Yes it does
I bought a bottle of the extrait this year directly from BDK and it is the weakest, most disappointing perfume in my collection. While I like the smell, it became a skin scent almost instantly and I couldn’t smell it after 5 min. Overpriced and overhyped. I have never tried the edp version but BDK gifted me 10ml tabac rose which actually lasts…Best to test first to see if it lasts on your skin.
@@Apg794 Tabac Rose would have been my second choice for an attempt at BDK. I’ll try to get a sample, thanks for the recommendation!
I can barely smell the original. Is it just me? The Extrait is a bit stronger but the original is a very weak skin scent from the start! But online policy say it suppose to project better!
@@polanialmoni6274 the scent profile itself is very subtle per se, I feel that is the main “issue”. This might be designed to be a very elegant background fragrance.
@@SeldomlyOften is the Extrait worth it? Or maybe a clone?
@ not to me, didn’t work. I would try a clone but have no idea what to recommend.
Lmao. I just received this, and it's amazing. Packaging and all. Look at my comment below. I came around to and love it.
@@marklopez3459 glad it won you over and glad your bottle has great presentation! I ended up trading mine off. I might go with the normal Gris Charnel at some point.
Nah....redundant if you have the diors. Infact, dior homme intense & parfum are much better and stronger. Nice and spicy in the opening but majorly falls flat. Tested this extrait for 2 weeks.
Funnily enough I never owned Dior Homme Intense or Parfum, just smelled in a shop on strip; I know it's silly but one of the turn offs is the stupid non imaginative name.
Honest review, as always.
@@rogerlid2118 thanks! I really appreciate it 🙂
Salut! Tu parles français?
@@franceiroca Bonjour! mon français est vraiment mauvais malheureusement 🙃
Bottled in the same factories too; although you may indeed have an anomaly on your hands. Haven't tried the extrait myself, but I had a sample of the OG and enjoyed it for a while. Not something I'd get a bottle of though.
The OG is just a better product, fits the brand a lot better in my opinion. This one really felt forced.
The QC is another story, very disappointing.
I prefer gris charnel edp over extrait, overall they are weak performers. As a house i find them meh. I prefer powerful perfumes and this house can not deliver that
@@Principemostprincipe I tried the original and it’s better, still not wowing me though. Agree 👍
@@SeldomlyOften nothing from this house wows me tbh. Whole house screams mediocrity and i think they are targeting female audience
@@Principemostprincipe I'll probably try to grab a discovery set, if they even have one just so I can have a better idea of what is going on :D
@@SeldomlyOften try tabac rose its excellet release if you not afraid to pull off feminine leaning fragrance
dude hahahaha, so hilarious xD
@@gozu3454 hey! What specifically did you find funny? 😬
bought eh BDK GRis Charnel - non extrait for my sister - does it project and everything is nice?
@@gozu3454 the regular is way better in my opinion, the lesser concentration gives the frag some air to develop and breathe. Better projection also
