Hi Santa! What you described is exactly how i feel about Gris charnel. My bff on the other hand calls this fragrance her perfect man. Lol. She finds it more of a special occasion fragrance. I shared this video with her, called her, and we had a good giggle on how we view some of the same fragrances. She just recently got into fragrances, but she now understands why I love it. Our favorite thing to do is get samples and discovery kits and see how we interpret the scents.
As a man, the sentiment across men’s fragcom is definitely that the extrait version is the way to go for men but for me honestly, not everything in my collection has to scream “masculine manly man.” I got the original and I love it, it’s that perfect in between unisex and is a fragrance you let people discover rather than it yelling that it’s there.

I got all woods and no sweetness.. fast forward months later I sprayed it and was like .. OMG.. where have you been all my life.. lol.. I had to get a full bottle and absolutely love it. It is def unisex imo and worth the hype😊
I smelled Gris Charnel a year ago but I didnt like it expect I do want to try it again because noses do change. I dont love a cardamom bomb but some perfumes have cardamom in and i don't mind. I may like it i just got Xerjoff Ouverture which also has fig and the creaminess i it. I am wearing Byredo Eyes Closed right now. It is spicy with holiday spices but it is not too much like Ivory Route and it has baking spices not cooking spices.
One of my favorite scent - its almost become my signature. I love the fig scent thats in there - very unique but your review is point on! I have the extrait but prefer the original.

This fragrance has some of my least favourite notes - vetiver and fig leaf (not sure if it's the fruit or leaf) are just not my vibe. So I've never given it a fair shot.
