Everyone: "this plane is insanely fast!"
The chase quad, keeping up: 👁👄👁
yeh, the plane is amazing. but damn the skill of the quad pilot..
the chase quad Hitting all the Gaps as well !
Yeah but 4 rotors vs 1 tho
huge props to the chase pilot, literally flew through a tree to get the shot. Great job, keep it up!
Those trees eat quads! Lol
@@BuddyRC watching videos like these just make me appreciate the speed of these quads 10x more
if u arent half auti u can do it ez.. wt f
3:50. A tip,. The pegs they have you print are 4mm,. I just use 4mm carbon fiber tube cut to size.
or tighten the belts on your printer - I did this to mine and it rapidly improved it I really recommend it
I like how the FPV antenna kinda look like exhaust piping from a radial engine. Would be cool to color them metallic silver if it won’t interfere with their signal.
I agree, with that. it would look cool, especially since they work with a lot of prop planes, which originally were, exactly a radial engine. so, it would look really cool. I studied planes, growing up, so I'm sharing some of my knowledge with you.
Yeah, double it up! This plane looks and flies great. I'm still hoping to see an FT 3d/foamboard hybrid plane some day. Printed formers, foamboard skin, printed accent pieces like cockpit, firewall, gear etc... way less print time than doing the whole plane and you should be able to create some great shapes. Seems like it would really be a FT sort of thing and whoever draws up the 2d plans for laser cutting should be easily able to make the jump to 3d for this sort of project!
I'll never give up on balsa, but man, being able to print out a micro fuselage would be super useful.
I'm amazed with all of the foam/electric rtf kits available, how many classic balsa kits and plans are still available. I'm considering buying a lockheed constellation short kit, but I haven't messed with balsa in so long. EPO has spoiled me.
Balsa is beautiful, no doubt. But there's nothing that says you have to do one or the other! :)
Have mine printed in polyalchemy's nightshade elixir. Need to up it to 4 cell, but it is quick with a 3 cell. Great flying plane
Polyalchemy is such beautiful filament, I have used that color and love it. I noticed they have a good bit less layer adhesion so I would be careful with that. However, I used that filament a few years ago, so they might have changed up the blend some and fixed that issue.
Whith FPV system it is a flying brick with high velocity. Very dangerous but looks beutiful.
@@user-dg5br2lx1k 😂 death machine
What is probably more amazing now is there is 1 guy printing 3d planes that are turbine powered! Unfortunately he won't sell his STL files but his channel is still cool to watch.
I’ve been watching you guys for a couple years now. I did not realize how close I was to y’all. Love the builds and love the ideas you guys come up with. Keep it up 👍🏻
*sees windshield wiper on screen*
Literally *wtf, when did I get a windshield wiper on my phone?!* 😂😂
Oh, that came with the last update. You must have missed it. 🤪🙃😁
Love your videos, even more so because they are a firm favourite of my Dad who has Alzheimer's disease... When I have him to stay with me for the day we sit and watch your videos for hours and it is so nice to hear him laughing and be amazed by all the amazing projects. Thankyou so much for the quality time I get with him. Keep them coming ! 😊
First flitetest video I've liked in a long time, you've come back to your roots!
Curious if you guys had ever considered taking model airplanes, helicopters and turning them into actual flyers. I would love to see a video of that.
Great looking models and cool to see 3D coming more available yet I still love foam board modeling and sure there's folks who still love balsa. Grateful there's options and love FliteTest and all the work and fun they continue to share, too cool!!
So awesome, I can't imagine flying something like this without FPV. Also a great job tracking it with the drone.
FliteTest always pushing the boundaries, good job guys 3D printing is getting better and better with new materials too.
Almost first!!
Missed it by that much? 😜
What's fascinating me more is the little drone trailing it, and even keeping up at the 100 per hour mile speed.
Mike is rocking the chase quad!
@@mrb2917 but the quad is ugly
I'm a simple man, I see flitetest notification, I click instantly
And we love you for it! ;)
Can’t wait to see one about an edf plane. They need to get back to that. Or a rocket powered bell x-1
@@joshuamelvin OMG NOW MY LIFE IS COMPLETE, I LOVE YOU JOSH BIXLER!
I wanted to know if you ever flown the plane FMS Super EZ, and if you did what you think about it?
All the work lies in that dangerous photographer. it is amazing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🙆♂️🙆♂️
Yup, I've really enjoyed building the 3dlabprint stuff. Built the PBY Catalina and working on the B-25 now. Can certainly see the progression in design. Looking forward to getting around to an eclipson at some point too!
That’s hard to do but y’all mastered it, keep the content up
Clicked on the vid the exact moment I got the notification! 👍 are you guys ever going to be building a giant ft-edge 540 ? It would be sick!! 🤙✈️
same
The modelling community is really embracing 3D printing! Can't wait what you will be showing in 5 years
I’d be surprised if it couldn’t
Awesome video guys always really enjoy all your content also big shout out to Mike flying that mini quad bro keeping up with that model R doing those gaps right with Josh awesome flying 👍🏼.
Okay, this video has sold me! I'm buying a filament 3D printer to go with my resin printer!!!!!! Thank you for keep being awesome @FliteTest
"Now it's as simple as adding electronics to it" Boy, there's something you would not have heard anyone say in the 20th century!
You guys have been the Kings/queens of foamboard for so many years....... surely you must be close to designing your own 3D printed stuff?
Love it! Keep up the great effort you guys! I might have to make one of these planes myself and I will definitely use your promo code for the Colorfabb lite weight PLA! I absolutely love the colors too!
Good job Eclipson. Awesome Mike skills!!!
Two words, Pond Racer! I’d love to see a 3D printed version of that thing for sure and I’m positive it would be absolutely ridiculously fast
Would love to see a STOL aircraft in this kind of build! Awesome video, guys!
Looks cool
"the weight, you have to just feel it for yourselves"
Scales, this is FliteTest. Flitetest, meet scales.
Love that the first few seconds are the answer to the title and I don't have to watch any of the rest :)
I've now printed 5 Eclipson planes, 2 model A,'s 3 Model C's. One really cool thing, when you order it, you get the files right away. I started printing my model C's 10 minutes after ordering. I print in standard PLA though, the price and shipping to Canada of that Colorfabb filament is just way to high. I'm looking forward to a summer's worth of planes, all 3D printed.
Any issues with PLA in the summer? I'm in the southern U.S., so I'm wondering if the airflow from flying would keep the material temp low enough to keep it from getting soft. Of course I wouldn't just leave it sitting out in the sun.
@@rsmith3834 I had to keep mine out of direct sunlight, except when flying. Otherwise, I had no heat issues, and we had a hot summer ( not as hot as South US though )
It would do a lot of good if you invested in a filament recycler, you seem to love your printing! Take all that support and failed print and just re-melt it, and try again!
freakin amazing! love that cockpit camera.
You guys always lift my spirits up great video
Y'all should build an He-100, cool plane from history.
Sounds like FliteTest has a huge project on their hands to convert all the foamboard designs to 3d printed STLs. Printing a trainer out from these guys right now.
3D printing planes is super intriguing... need to try it soon :D Awesome video!
Awesome flying, guys! 😃
Stay safe there with your families! 🖖😊
Im just as impressed with Mike's flying the quad copter to film it.
Do flying house
They did
Absolutely Superb!
That's amazing! Makes me want to get into fpv even more now.
Why!?!?!??! Why must you make me want to do more in the hobby! Lol you guys are awesome!
The most impressive thing is the quad keeping up! Nice job guys👍
Mike killing it!
@@BuddyRC yes sir!
great video
Hi brother
I've been seeing these rc plane videos a lot lately and idk if I wanna get sucked in to another expensive hobby, but it looks super fun
Flite test is all about cheap fun in RC, look back into their long history as they have literal $5 builds out of dollar store foam and these 3d printed planes are not expensive either (looks like less than a $30 roll of filament to me). You have to buy a transmitter and power package (receiver, battery, motor) but these have come way down in cost. You can get into the hobby for a couple hundred bucks (mostly the transmitter) and fly for years with very little added money spent. Most parts can be salvaged in a crash. I say go for it
@@eulachonfish dang, I just might. Thanks kind stranger
Seeing this new plane design. Kinda makes me want to get back into R/C flying. 😃 I especially like tge green / black contrast. A little hard to ignore. Easy to see in the air.😀👍👍 Damn that thing screams.
can we get some props for Mike? He followed you through that stupid stuff and made you look "qualified to fly" like a pro!!!! #CamaraManRocks!!!!
Heck yeah!
2X version WoW!! You just gotta be loving your jobs!! Too fun
since i saw this video, i realize the ufos do exactly the same thing as the drone... those ufos are drones who follows airplanes to watch them closely. incredible. awesome video.
Awesome plane Great flying Josh 🔥👍✌️
I might give 3D printed planes a try
Do it. I have 5 from eclipson.
Great Video as always, Many thanks
Nice video Flite Test!🛩
What motor, ESC and prop did you use?
Wow that was fun!!! Josh Bixler always doing sketchy things!!! Yeah, 2X that baby!!!!
When it saw this call in thought was "Ripslinger" with the color scheme.
I did too!! It looks like it!
Josh's little buddy sounds "special" when he laughs. Gerrrherr!!🤪🤪
Relax big guy. It's a fu#%ing toy plane. Lol
OMG, this is the future, you are onto something great here.
So, I am A 5th grader looking for a testable question for a project and I am super into planes so when I come across Eclipson, this helped me alot.
this is amazing!.such a wicked lookin plane!
Love myself a good flite test video
YES!!!
I'd love to see an FPV race with these!!
Finally some more racing content!
That looks awesome. I like building as much as flying, I'll have to try one for sure.
i hope something comes up to where i can try that filament.
this is awesome guys!
i love 3d printing
It's awesome, looks very familiar to the EFX- which is an absolute beast.
This plane looks so beautiful!!!
Wow I just clicked on this because it was in my feed...and it was totally worth it!! What kind of headset is that? That's awesome!! I wish I had a 3d printer I would do this!! This quality of products must cost a lot, the radio alone is probably out of my price range. It's ok though cause I have some cheap airplanes that I haven't gotten a chance to fly.
WOW, love the PLA colour. Put an LED in if and fly it at night/dusk that would look insane! (UK)
I would’ve liked to see you guys push it to the limits and do some high-G maneuvers to really test how well the airframe can withstand them. Still and amazing video nonetheless
Looks beautiful…love it…
that plane looks like the Durafly EfXtra! Nice job and great flying
instead of using superglue or cement for the 3d printed planes, use pla 3d gloop. it’s an adhesive that was designed specifically for pla and it’s fantastic. it’s actually amazing
Or $1 tubes of epoxy, 3d gloop sounds expensive.
this looks like allot of fun
Nice video
That aeroplane is an absolute work of art!!
Yes mate best yet 👍👍😁
Yes please make a 2x version. I was just saying another cool thing about 3d printed planes is that you can make it any size you want.
Wow. THIS is why I've been trying to get into fpv. That looks exhilarating
perfect man.
I think if you have battery issues you can design a place and put another battery inside and use it like an airplane drop tank and release it when it is dead.
Awesome plane! Reminds me of the durafly EFX Racer, but more refined
That thing hauls! You need to get a radar gun and see what it's doing.
Who else feels like their day is incomplete without watching enjoying this content 💕
Omg... I need to invest in a 3d printer 🖨 That was awesome 👌 I want it!
I love you guys
I believe you could go even lighter on the weight than this giant machine. Good work🚀✈
I miss the days of flying pizza boxes and coke bottles. It's cool seeing the realism and the limits of amazing DYI.
But I want a contest of a flying glass bottle. cheapest planes build off. making everyday objects flying.
Just more of the good ole days that inspired me to build my first.
If you can make a mailbox and a microwave fly then I can build something too.
Not everything merits hysterical laughter!
Those colors bring me back to racing rc10's in the 80's and 90's
Id love to see you guys sell pre-3d printed parts like the precut foamboard models! then we still get to add our own motor and go fast bits
The near midair at 7:32 😂😂
The bugs in the grass: *AIR RAID AIR RAID GET THE AA GUNS READY*
Sweet plane awesome areobatics !!😊
