I love the growing and changing team BUT WE NEED AN INTO VIDEO!! Who are these awesome guys, what makes them tick? I'd love to be re introduced to all the great folks I see on camera. Keep the awesomeness coming guys!
Fantastic job as usual.......Dave, this is Dave(and Rob) from the crawler course. I just wanted to say thank you so much for the mini tour and the hospitality that you showed us after our comp. It was really a pleasure getting to talk to you a little more about flitetest, and the amazing job that you folks do for the hobby community. Keep up the great work guys!!!
For long push rods I use a straw to feed the rod through and glue it to the fuselage so the Rob has something to ride against instead of kinking and losing through Nice build guys Looks like it fly's great 🔥👍✌️
I'm about halfway into this video and I've got to say fellas this is the most fascinating thing I've ever seen about airplanes on the internet. Is it possible that production of airplanes could be built the same as the way you built yours and marketed. Very interesting.
Josh, now that you are 3-d printing so many things for flite test make sure to print TWO of the hatches with you record for hatches.... P.S. subscriber nearly since you guys started...
Thanks for a great video! This is a very interesting concept with 3D printers becoming more affordable. I would love to see you guys print something a bit stouter and put one of the old gasser motors on board after you become a bit more comfortable with the material.
Awesome bird build. For the best aerodynamics improvement always spray on two coats of gloss clear over any paint unless it's also a gloss coat. Then just one coat as the gloss clear will hide minor scratches. You'd be surprised how much flat paint increases drag on an airplane no matter what size it is.
It’s not that simple. Smooth, polished surfaces sure reduce friction drag but they can increase form drag. Golf balls aren’t smooth and polished for this reason. Turbulence can actually reduce drag.
Awesome build, can't wait to get a 3d printer! And can we point out the sweet soundtrack of these videos? Especially David Cutter's track 'parts' let's me rock slightly back and forth as soon as I hear it!
Thank you! I've got a 100x100 bed using the easythread x1. This is the most accessible 3D printer on the market. I am trying very hard to come up with a 3d printed model (and fully recyclable) for a 3s battery, receiver and I don't want to use ANY CA or hot glue (even exploring 3D printed joiners). Typing to avoid all foam - can use Tape, Cardboard (of any type), and Rubberbands are okay. Bonus points the only screws used to hold servos and motor. Bonus points for not using any wood or carbon for spars. What would you call this #challenge? I know there was the pizza plane - looking for something closer to this video :-) but minus the 125 hours of printing + glue 😃
Very nice. I just made one of my own. But i'm still trying to figure out what happened to the RC and servos. It apparently shut off automatically the first time. So I made another airplane. It still isn't going. I use FlySky RC. They seem to be good. I don't think the servos can konk out by one use of me leaving it on. So that was it. Still on the work bench.
That is what i meant. Testing it. I left it on the first time and it shut off. I thought that was recharging the battery. I am still looking into this. If the RC can come on again, great. FlySky transmitter and receiver.
Amazing job!!!!! I love the biplanes!!! They are such good looking planes!!!! One day I will learn to fly an RC and bring my dream into reality. Is the Flite Test blessing me with one of this beautiful planes? :-)
I know fishing line is strong but it also stretches a LOT specially in the warmer days of summer. I would think it would be hard to keep even tension over time and maybe allow for wing warp over its life span? Wouldn't there be a better option. Maybe hemp string impregnated with shellac or polyurethane?
Great Video. In response to what plane I would like to see next. Could you 3D print the Eclipson EBW-160 (The Blackwing) Delta wing. I am getting a 3D printer the holiday season and would love to see what the Eclipson Delta Wings Fly like. Keep up the great work FliteTest!!
And I checked FlySky. The receiver 4 channel and 6 channel can go all the way to a little over 1/2 mile. 1000 meters in the air. So that is pretty long way out. In a park, shouldn't be more than 2 to 3 hundred yards tops. That is about 984 feet. Way less.
I've learned to despise 3d printed planes. Nothing but bad luck with the warping from just sitting in my garage for a day or 2. Had one completely shrivel up. Was lpa they recommended as well
Y'all. I'm from the south now. Lots of woods and that. Wish I could do this around here. Almost every space around issurrounded by forest. I couldn't fly one. I'd lose it under tree line
It depends on the size of the “open areas”. I find fields that are 300 feet by 200-300 feet are perfect for 3-4s propeller aircraft. I fly in an area surrounded by trees, it’s not as hard as you’d think. You just need to be aware of where you are, and not fly aircraft that are outside the boundaries of the field you’re at.
These 3D printed planes are cool and all and you've been using light weight PLA a lot but the website you buy from isn't in the USA. Most of us viewers can't afford the high shipping prices and waiting a long time for delivery. Is there anywhere in the USA that has and sells LWPLA?? If so, please let us know! Great video btw!
Thoroughly enjoyed hearing the classic intro music again.
it is so nostalgic

You guys are very welcome, gave to have you around!
I love biplanes! When I was little there were two An-2 at our local aerodrome. Damn, I miss those old Soviet beauties!
The hangar looks amazing!
This is the first time we've seen any sort of 3D on FT in a long time
For long push rods I use a straw to feed the rod through and glue it to the fuselage so the Rob has something to ride against instead of kinking and losing through Nice build guys Looks like it fly's great 🔥👍✌️

Congrats on the successful maiden on the PLAne - :) :) whole lotta printing . . . but worth it 👍👍

Holy man what a beautiful model, yall should totally make a 1/3 scale corsair and put it in battle with the giant B17
@2:36 very brave in doing that, Me... I wouldn't even dare on LW-PLA lol

Bi plane! My first R.C. aircraft was a Mark's Models Bi plane... Awesome job Guy's... Awesomeness!
Cool plane as always .what goes up must come down . Hopefully on its landing gear.👍
Yeah

Love the intro brings back memories.
Mono flexes like a big dawg! Use braid! Keep up the good work. Awesome plane. 👏 ✈️
Josh loses his hatch. Ah yes, that meme will never die!
i'd like to see you guys maybe build the P-38 in 3D printed because thats one of my most favorite war birds of all time
Awesome build, can't wait to get a 3d printer! And can we point out the sweet soundtrack of these videos? Especially David Cutter's track 'parts' let's me rock slightly back and forth as soon as I hear it!
I can’t to see you guys in person because I can’t wait to start building a plane with you guys and flying it!
How about the 3d Labprint B-25 with the working bomb bay doors. Might be an interesting project.
Need some Sub-250g 3D printed planes!
Very well done built to last
8:23 That T-shirt 🤣
I’m really impressed with this one! It looks terrific, and flies beautifully. Yet another reason to invest in a 3-D printer, methinks. ;-)
Thank you!

Have you ever considered using bicycle spokes as alignment wires? They could be tightened post installation to provide additional strength.

As 3D printer you need a CR30 for printing the long pieces in one single piece. And maybe a voron which is super fast, but tedious to assemble.
Amazing job!!!!! I love the biplanes!!! They are such good looking planes!!!! One day I will learn to fly an RC and bring my dream into reality. Is the Flite Test blessing me with one of this beautiful planes? :-)
Would love to see you build either the EGW-80 or EWW-180, in the both EDF and Prop versions.
You should add air soft guns to the anti air cannons because it’s easier to hit and cool at the same time
Wow
2:59 reminded me of the ft3d paint job 😁
Great build guys, I looked at the link and sound great designs, think I need a new 3D printer thou 👍🏻
You guys should make a FW190 and battle
Happy halloweek ! ☺✌🎃
Wow! This bi plane flys nice!
Yeah make it easy at home
Sweet! Can't wait to build one of these!
Yeah realy me too
Awesome flight! Looks like a great plane

Spectra low stretch is very strong

Great looking plane
How about printing our and flying a T-50 Bobcat/Bamboo Bomber? Or, a 1956 era, Piper Apache?
Hallo, ich drucke das Modell gerade, ich freue mich auf den ersten Flug. Viele Grüße aus Deutschland.

What a beautiful plane!
3:17 I thought he was skateboarding on grass and I was like HOLY SH*T but then I realized it was a one wheel
IPlease fly vr guys like always and please show plane perspective you guys are awesome really helping everyone explore and experiment
Instead of using normal fishing line try the braided stuff. A lot less strech under load so it should work even better.
Great build , how about a 3D build of a V-22 Osprey.
Please make an F4 Phantom RC sometime soon!
I've learned to despise 3d printed planes. Nothing but bad luck with the warping from just sitting in my garage for a day or 2. Had one completely shrivel up. Was lpa they recommended as well
You could make a 3d printed EDF jet. An L39 Albatross, or something similar.
Nice printers !!!
Awesome Plane and nice build video! I hope you will review our models in the near future. Kind regards.
Guys, great video, as always.
I wanna see what 3d pilot can do with this 🤩
Wow, i have note seen flite test since some years and congrats Josh you lost quite a bit of weight 👍👍
would like to see you all do a 3D printed P38 or a P51
Once again since i subscribed i never expect what you upload

@@AerospaceMatt yeah I have about that space to take off and land one. I'd need something lofty that really goes high up. Be able to keep an eye on it
Where's your hatch Josh? 😂
Dude that makes me so fkn happy
Yes man
That'll be perfect in a california summer
Perfect work❤
What temp did you print that at mate? cheers for the vid, they're always an inspiration.
SO GOOD
Yeah true
excellent job boys yak 54 or tundra next print
123 hours!!!! geeze i could build that from balsa in half that time
Are you comparing human working time with machine working time?
Nice plane 😁👌
EXCELENTE
Make a b17 with functional guns and some f16 and f35 and have a dog fight . Clash of generations !
you should make a Douglas XB-42
how much filament was used in 3d printing this plane?
They should some planes for endurance flying and see who can get the longest flight time
When you said 100% plastic I was expecting 100% recycled plastic like milk bottles and cola bottle and stuff
You guys should make a big passenger plane like a beoing
Very nice. But is it a PLAne or a PETGne?
3D print a WWII Lancaster which was the best bomber of the war.
Happy halloweek ! ☺✌💜👿😱💀👻🐱⚾
so cool
Excellent💯

Make a 2" scale BFC-2 Goshawk.
I like the new intro
You have to put a newb in the rc cockpit to fly this plane
I wouldn’t be surprised if the prop was also 3D printed
Build a flying aircraft carrier with Rotor blades and launch a plane from it
Nice
They should make the F4 phantom or the F 35 or f-15
Yeeeees a new video horaayyy
Yeah
what is the model of the Drone you guys use to chase your planes?
Satisfying 🤤🤤
You guy should make a ac130
Can you guys make a very small plane
