The Eclipson motorized version of the Schempp-Hirth Gö-1 Wolf turned out as a very tribute the original 1930's design. Wolfram HIRTH, and Martin SCHEMPP would likely be in awe to see this 3d-printed edition of a a wooden glider they sold for approximately £150 (1930's valuation). The company still exists today, producing high-tech composite Schempp-Hirth sailplanes. Fun Fact: On April 3, 1934 the first production Gö-1 Wolf's to leave the "Sportflugzeugbau Göppingen" (Sport Aircraft Göppingen) factory flew across the English Channel to participate in Alan Cobham’s Flying Circus (an airshow of the era). The pilot, a then 19 year old Joan Meakin, was first female pilot to ever fly across the channel. Doing so in a motor-less aircraft and doing aerobatics before landing made international news. A couple month later, on June 16, 1934 Joan Meakin's glider was towed to a height of 4,500 feet above Bristol airport broke the loop record made by Faur Hanna Heritsch’s of 15. Joan made 18 loops before landing. The loop in this video (11:12) is a fitting tribute to early aviation history. Thanks for the video and the files! I have started printing already using the Polylite prefoamed LW-PLA. It is printing so smoothly. No stringing at all, very light and very strong. Can’t wait to get it in the air 😊
@@SiN360-s8c I went with the recommended "printing parameters" settings for regular PLA for the Go1 Wolf. My temp setting was 205, bed temp 60, and speed 40.. The best printed parts ever for me!
With the upcoming FAA registration requirement for drones (and the power grabbing bureaucrats call model airplanes drones for their rule) to carry a device to tell who is flying them and a license requirement or fly in an approved location like a model club flying area, I decided to take the least expensive way out and start building planes that are 8.8 ounces or a quarter kilo or less which are exempt. My first is a 66% Go 1 Wolf and it came in at a ready to fly weight of 7 ounces or about 199 grams. I'm also working on a Eclipson Focke Wolf and it is ready to install the electronics.I used San Smart LWPLA I'd post a picture but don't see a way. Nearly all the big pieces print in vase mode which is nice. There is a vide on RUclips that shows how to design for vase mode using Fusion 360 which is free for non commercial use.
Ücretsiz baskı için teşekkür ederim. Diğer modelleriniz de çok güzel. İlk önce ücretsiz olanı deneyip sonra diğerlerine bakacağım. Tekrar teşekkür ederim.
Finished printing mine, almost done with the assembly. I am thinking of using a ZOHD flight controller to make it more beginner friendly. It also has an auto launch feature, looking forward to trying it out.
hello, I printed out your free model go 1 Wolf for testing and I'm struggling with bad cooling of the engines and electronics in general, the cone blocks the entire nose and actually the plane doesn't have a solved cooling in general .. and it's about 15 degrees outside now in October but apart from that the plane flies amazingly, it's my first 3d printed model and I'm happy with it, the repairs are great after the engine overheated it went down with a corkscrew and I just have to print the nose again and put it on and I can keep flying it's great.
I am sorry but we can not recommend any specific components if we don´t test it first. If you wanna be sure there will be no issues you should order the standard power pack that we recommend, The same pack is used in most of our planes. www.eclipson-airplanes.com/standardpowerpack
Good idea e good video. Now, how about removable wings? I would like to transport it by the car, so i need space to store it at home BTW it files very well 👍
Hello, Stupid question, I have a ender 3 pro with a flexible build bed, how can I remove the printed object? I left it cool down, but it's really hard to take it off. Can you please help me? Do I have to put some stick glue on the bed before printing? Im not using any glue at all. Thank you!!
I tried flying this plane for my first ever flight yesterday. It lasted 10 seconds. I suspect it was tail heavy. Im struggelig finding information about the balancing point for this plane. Are those small dents underneath the wing, close to the fusalage, the balance point indicators? Thanks! Otherwise very cool looking plane.
Thank you so much for this free model! This was a great first experience for me, although I crashed it within 3 seconds 🤣 A few comments though: I used the suggested Flite Test pack for this plane, but it looks like the prop is too large. The plane can only take off by releasing it/throwing it. And Landing would be a problem as well because the prop has to be in a horizontal position or otherwise it would crash. Also the screw of the Flite Test motor was not long enough to fit the prop including spinner 1+2. Did I miss something? Reprinting the broken (2) parts as we speak nevertheless
Hey I know this is really late but someone suggested a folding propeller in the Facebook group however I do not remember the size but for any belly landplane I would suggest one
This video shows in moments 0'36", 4'42", 5'10", 6'04" and 6'35" how small parts in the form of rectangular plates are used. What it is? Is there an option for part 7 (canopy) to mount an FPV camera?
Beautiful! Just finished printing mine. What are you doing with the graphics .. Print on black and glue? or something else? Thank you for answering me.
HI just wondering how you attach the ailerons. I see you glue the hinges into the ailerons and then it jumps forward. Do you then glue the other end of the hinge into the wing? Just unsure how it works as a hinge. Thanks again
@@jean-christophea498 Thanks for this. Looking back over the designs I did notice there is a Label on the drawings saying TPU . Oversight on my part but at least its clarified. Thanks
I print 6mm pla+ rods. And it works. As my ender 3s1 is too small to print in one part the 6mm tubes needed for the main wing, i cut the rods with interlocking.
I so happy to see traditional hinge setup for the ailerons, its much more easier to do , I wish the Eclipson 3D was the same. Thank you for this fabulous model! Btw..any chance to make a two piece wing mod? 🙏 I would gladly pay for the mods
