Every time I dumb thumb it and think “man I should not be crashing at this stage” I look at these videos and understand you simply can’t get really good without crashing from time to time. Thanks Jon. So grateful for your channel and shared knowledge.
Thanks so much!
EVER!! 😂
Moral of the story don’t let Jon touch a rc plane
That's certainly an opinion.
Yes
True
Yup
In Jon's defense rc plane flying is extremely difficult
RC F-14: *_belly lands and slides to a halt_*
RCAIM-9: "Fox two."
😂😂😂😂
It's a punishing hobby. Ten minutes in the air. Ten weeks in the workshop 😂
This was great! And that F14 even though its a small model man that looks good in the air! Thanks!
Small? It's pretty big. 1.5m wingspan isn't anything to sneeze at!
@@TwoBrosRC Haha you are right! I have been building giant scale airplanes for so long everything looks small lol! Thanks!
I really like the SU 27 and typhoon models. In my opinion, they were the best looking ones
If you're talking about the one at 7:00 it's a Rafale, not a Typhoon
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Amazing compilation!
I feel better now😄
The vertical landing of the YAK-130 is Amazing!!!!! Thanks for sharing this great video. 👏✈️👍
The opening shot with the Tomcat...this jet made amazing grinding noises on the runway. I give this one 50 points.
This was really fun to watch. Though it maybe wasn't fun to produce. I especially enjoyed seeing my very own crashes of my very own planes, with slightly different surroundings and peanut gallery commentary 👍
Naw, it was tons of fun to produce. Flying is good content, crashing is great content. We're not trying to crash, but if it happens it's just part of pushing the limits for us. Plus it makes an excellent year-end crash reel.
Keep on making those videos
5:40 attempted cobra on the SR-71?
Nope. Instability.
nice UPEO livery on the sukoi!
This is crazy!
but also cool, it's also sad too see RC jets get crashed.
Sad, but still fun. Pushing our own limits naturally results in crashes, but makes for interesting content regardless!
Nice work Jon
0:07 Maverick&Rooster have landed on the deck🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ouch!!! That Twin Timber ejecting motor flying off into the lake on takeoff was SAVAGE!!😮😮😮🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great job on the crash compilation from last year Jon👍👍😎😎👍👍
For those high Alpha passes how should I practice? up high so if I stall I have altitude to play with? Or should I try and say in ground effect to help with lift?
Your RC planes channel is the best man 👍🛩️
Glad you enjoy it!
@@TwoBrosRC amazing channel um btw what is your favorite rc plane mine is my 50mm edr f16.
Jon this was awesome! You really let it all hang out man. Flying on the edge is thrilling, and man you do it well. Your average pilot would crash every time doing the stuff you do. Fun to watch and a great example of how to take a crash with grace when you're pushing it. Just part of flying with no margin for error.
It's easier to look at flying as "it's good content if it flies, it's great content if it crashes" when you run a YT channel. ;)
My wife quit fiming my crashes- i mean, "flights".
Said something about "panic attacks"...
I'm more of a "if the stick of shame can't reach it, a storm will blow it out that tree" guy, myself. Nothing a few nylon hinges, bamboo skewers and Foam2Foam cant fix up.
Post-crash is the best time to upgrade a plane, in my book. Nothing my clumsy ass is gonna do, will be worse than that asphault nose dive I'm "fixin", anyway 😂
👍
@@AL-RCjunkieTrue Al, very true!
Jon, would you like to get on the buddy box with me for some remedial training? 😂
Very funny video :) thanks for sharing. 🙏🏻
Either just flying rc or pushing the limits of it, everyone will crash. It's not if it happens, but when....
Good stuff Jon,
AirHammer out
You are the best rc plane channel on whole RUclips. I love you guys
You always make me happy to see the different planes and your landing
Super happy to hear that. Thank you! 🧡
Love your channel, it's always extremely entertaining and informative, although with this Video's subject being on crashes, I'm already quite proficient at that so I don't need any additional encouragement. 😂
Nice year👍😆😇
Wait that Su 27 has Ace combat 3 upeo livery . Niceeee
Great video, but dumb question here: As a newer person to RC flying, I've been in military aviation for a long time and I was wondering. Could it be possible to equip an eFan jet with a TOGA Mode (Take Off Go Around) perhaps a motor "overboost" mode that would give the eFan maybe 110 to 120% of rated thrust for a brief period to allow for a better recovery from a difficult landing? Same for a prop motor. A brief shot of higher output to gain altitude, or stabilize more for an approach.
That's not really an option for any model aircraft that we're aware of.
2:25 my husband has that rc plane, I gotta warn him about that landing gear lol
First one was a smooth belly landing that saved the plane as much as possible without its landing gears out
On behalf of the ‘radio control model plane manufacturers association’ RCMMA, we would like to thank Jon for his business 😂… kidding aside, what a fun video, loads of respect & thanks for sharing
Found it comical to see that little Aim-9 fall to the ground in the first clip lol
Me, too! 😂
Best RC Channel on RUclips... Thanks so much for all the cool stuff ❤🎉
Glad you enjoy it!
Now I think they should install GPWS and T-CAS systems into the RC remotes especially for Jon
Smashing good video, thanks.
littlebit sad to watch. but i laughed so hard. thats really funny! thanks!
First RC club i belonged to had a huge oak tree covered in Poison Oak neighboring the primary/paved runway, which ate about half dozen airplanes every weekend flying there. We held a picnic before shutting down for the season. And we gave a special award to an 11 year son of a member (who did NOT fly), because he was both nimble AND the one in 10,000 people WHO WAS NOT ALERGICT (sp?) TO POISON OAK TO GO GET THE AIRCRAFT OUT OF THAT TREE!!!
That was an amazing year and I loved watching your videos. And as you probably know me from asking you to review things. Here’s another ask. The new FMS 80mm F-86 just came out and I’m in love with it. Any chance you could maybe review it?
Already got it from FMS! They sent it a little too late to get up last Saturday. We're trying to get it posted next week.
Hey guys, looking at getting a first plane for me and my boy to play with. What's the go to entry level unit that's good value for money.
I'm liking the look of some of those fighter jets in this vid
We generally recommend the HobbyZone AeroScout via bit.ly/3rkx506 - this'll get you up in the air with everything included. For personalized help, join us on Discord via bit.ly/TBRCDiscord and we'll be happy to help walk you through it.
Curious on how many tree top recoveries you guys have had ? And how high up you had to go ?
Jon must be a millionaire with him popping up that much 😅
That P-47 pilot did not want stay in the plane. 😂
Can you blame him lol 😆
@@ghoward6797 My Arrows T-28 resists any battery bigger than a 3S 1800 by forcibly ejecting the pilot at speed.
@6:02, the Yak-130, one of the most perfect EDF's every conceived of.
Thats how you do it!! Straight down, Nose Down, Fast as you can, I call it the Humpty Dumpty Landing, Or doing the Humpty
Jon can turn a plane into a boat! So cool!
👀
Love the fact you understand that crashing is parr of the fun and learning...all my jeans have CA marks from many many 3d crashes
Fortunately i discovered realflight Simulator
I think you guys would absolutely LOVE a decent balsa 3d plane ....plus some SIM time wouldn't go a miss 😉
We're well past the point of needing a simulator. There's no sim out there that's a substitute for flying outdoors. We've flown several balsa models:
ruclips.net/video/Y6aZ3OnQaqA/видео.html
ruclips.net/video/PmUFXd8Bzgk/видео.html
ruclips.net/video/SPBNU5k6ZgM/видео.html
With several more coming down the line in 2024 on the channel.
john: 20 crashes
everybody else combined: 10 crashes
When you fly hard, you make mistakes. Nice of you to point that out though!
@@TwoBrosRCyeah i know everybody does crashes im guilty as charged
NONE of us are perfect! Besides, what fun would that be🤷♂️?
6:24 that's the UPEO livery! never knew you're a fan of Ace Combat! 😮
Did you miss the Mobius 1 F-22? ruclips.net/video/dvJXxblRdRA/видео.html
Or the Mage 2 F-16C? ruclips.net/video/xRzBSQ9JOQA/видео.html
Or the Razgriz Rafale? ruclips.net/video/OaDu4jJY90s/видео.html - that's toward the end, but it's there.
Ace Combat is a huge inspiration for us. Hop on Discord via bit.ly/TBRCDiscord and chat about it!
Serious question, why land on asphalt instead of soft grass when there is a malfunction with the deployment of the wheels?
That wasn't a planned landing.
@3:30. Thanks for this. I'm relatively new and the F16 is the easiest plane for me to land because I used a higher AoA to slow it down on landing. I've been getting a little bit more extreme on the AoA and just experimenting. Thanks for showing me what would happen if I go too far. (Actually, I think I did stall it on one landing but it just plopped down on the gears and stopped.)
Happy to help! It's endlessly fascinating to watch aerodynamics at work.
Great video. What camera are you using to take the video?
We film with a Sony AX53: amzn.to/3RMFJOv
Thanks
I loved the comment, my friends and I love RC and crashes
Thanks for This video
Uh, sure!
That must have been a lot of work
Some very interesting landscaping techniques demonstrated in this video.
Uhhh... Sure
@@TwoBrosRC I was referring to the several planes that clipped parts of trees and bushes off.
Jon is that one friend that breaks all your toys when you were young 😂
What’s the scale of your model? I have a 1/32 Tomcat that I wanna convert into an RC plane but mine might be too small lol
No idea what the scale is - but you might find out looking up "F-14 Tomcat MotionRC"
The moment that Missile disengaged I thought to myself boom there goes another million dollar aircraft lol
0:15
А що заважало просто спіймати Томкета руками, раз шасі не вийшло?
It's heavy, bulky, and not designed to be caught. Plus it wasn't an intentional landing.
❤❤❤❤❤❤ good job at making the videos keep it on❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
One of my favorite rc plane channels to watch
I love the comments on this video after crashes, like : -cool.
🆒
Why they dont use flight stabilizers??
We do. What makes you think that we don't?
@@TwoBrosRC some silly landings..i
i have the eflite SAFE system and never had bad landings..
Great music selection!
🎶🎵🎶
Jon has had more crashes than I've had hot breakfasts
2:46 wow, flip over
I loved this movie
Jon: The Last RC Plane Detroyer :)
in 1:22 this rc plane is just flying to the guy even though the guy has control 😭😭
Rules : 1) They are called “retracts” not “extends” for a reason… 2) Trees are closer than they appear. 3) Fly around and find out 4) Everyone in the comments section is an expert.
1) and 4) go well together lol
that plane crash at 0:54 kinda reminds me of that airshow disaster
I don’t know how the model f14 is controlled but why were you trying to do a low and slow flyby with its wings swept back
Because that's how it can perform a high alpha pass.
the wings coming out AFTER landing in the first clip was comedy gold
Dayum Jon😂😂😂
The rocket falls 💥 0:07
Whats that 2 engine blue STOL plane?
Twin Timber
@ Thanks very much
Good video your not flying if there not a crash in your fun lol 👍👍
Congratulations. I would LOVE other channels would do similar to yours. That is to write the posible cause of the Crash, thus It would help everybody to learn and avoid similar Crash situations.
Thanks a lot Jon
People make mistakes, Ryan. We're only human after all.
Why the f14 landed with the wings not extended?
Because it was performing a high alpha pass that got too low.
I know nothing about RC planes so I'm hardly in a position to criticise; but could someone please explain why in the first clip you would elect to belly land on the tarmac instead of the soft grass beside it?
We didn't elect to land. It was a high alpha pass that went wrong. The description is in the top left.
Damn crazy coney island pilots.
Ryanair : Jon you’re hired

i luv jon
Damn jon destroying every plane he touches
Yep, that's Jon (if your only experience with us is our three crash reels)

4:39 at least jon landed it
That p47 had a pretty good landing up until it hit the grass
I have been an rc pilot since 1988 when i was in the airforce, stationed at hill afb then, we had a big club in ogden. It was an expensive hobby, 2.4g wasnt thought of yet, everything was nitro or gas, and very few mini or micro models. I came back to PA after getting out of the airforce, got into spad building and flying, then electric came out with foamie park flyers. Ive been in and out of the hobby over the years and seen many changes. I wish i had the oprotunity to fly and test a lot of models from the manufacturers, ive gained a lot of experience, and i still have the general thought process of "crashing is bad". Now, ive had my share of crashes, but after i became a competant pilot, most crashes were of mechanical or craft failure, not pilot error, and none were ever a laughing matter. This hobby has sadly became irresponsible and chaotic that a crash is found to be ammusing. Its only ever been ammusing to a spectator after the fact and never to the pilot or people closely related to the project as it was usually expensive. If i had this chance that many do, id take it serious for the viewers, and especially the potential consumers, and would give a thorogh and serious demonstration of the products on different platforms. But i do enjoy watching your videos, and seeing the new products coming out. Thank you. If theres any information you could share with how to get started into demonstrating rc products and aircraft, please feel free to email me at crahot@protonmail.com i do have some older videos on my page of some of my flights and planes ive built.
Crashing isn't ideal, but it's all part of the hobby. Even full scale aviators crash. Nobody is perfect. We laugh because it's a fun, enjoyable hobby with minimal risk to ourselves. It's better to find enjoyment in unfortunate situations than it is to seethe and rage about it.
With regard to demonstrating model aircraft, 99% of the time it'll be from building a social media presence that's large enough to attract companies that want to work with you.
the first one is the perfect example of why land with spread wings
Not really.
Nemo purged out of the simulation be like 00:49 (only Ace Combat fans will understand)
Oh no! The pilot released the missile too late.
Should be called: “2023 compilation of jons crashes”😂
👀
I was gonna say..when i was on the waist cats on IKE the F14s came in open wings to catch #3..

@@TwoBrosRC Just what I wrote. Nice compilation too.
That first one really hurt to see
why not landing in the gras if the gears are damaged?
The gear wasn't damaged. It was a mistake.

They should see the rest of what we post.
