Other big thanks go to the Crash Bash speedrunning community for the information and feedback, and the greater Crash community for the support.
There is far too much going on in this to unpack. Sit back and enjoy the "wtf" moments. For more details see my submission at tasvideos.org/7...
When humans are not strong enough, it requires a robot to defeat robots with speed and ease. This game is extremely difficult. Do not try this at home.
Kong is too powerful. I chose him as the player because Kong and Tiny are objectively the best characters: strong and reasonable refresh push in Panic levels, quick throw and good distance in Bash levels, and the strongest projectile in Tank levels.
Unfortunately I only found out about 2 hours deep IGT that Tiny has frame advantages on Kong in both Polar and Bash levels, which would've been small time-saves across the run. However, Kong has easier AI to deal with in the Relic rounds of the Polar and Tank levels.
This was a huge project, taking 6 months of TAS knowledge and work. After my any% TAS I still wasn't satisfied enough, and I knew people wanted it, and I wanted to know how far this category could go. So here it is. Sadly most of it is loading screens/item animations/countdown timers, and has 1 hour 48 minutes of autoscrollers (Pogo and Medieval levels), but I hope this is still enjoyable.
Thanks for watching.
I thought caddy was just overexaggerting the requirements for 200% but no, he wasn't
@@stevesamuals2651 nope 💀 he’s very right about the load screens/countdown timers, and timer levels (pogo/extras). Even a TAS can’t 200 this game in under 5 hours
@@craigelbagel0012same now I feel like I’m glad I dodged a bullet
It's much much worse. The TAS doesn't have to do with 20+ attempts on some of the harder challenges.
And Caddy did this twice! What a madman!
Yeah...When you factor humans into the equation, It took me about 10 hours to get to where it unlocked PLATINUM relics. At that point, knowing I had to do all the challenges but EVEN HARDER, I just noped the hell out of the game entirely.
This is how developers think we will play when they make this game
I think the biggest insult this game gives you is even when you are patient and resilient enough to complete the game in its entirety (200%), there is no reward for it. No alternate ending. No special level. No new character/skin. Not even a small acknowledgement of your accomplishment, like how fireworks explode in Crash 3 Warped in the warp room after 100% everything.
After all the punishment and unfairness one endures, there is no catharsis to any of it. Only bragging rights. To quote Infinity War:
"And what did it cost?"
"Everything."
That aside, this TAS does provide a certain degree of catharsis to all of us who have played it and experienced it all. Thank you for this. 🎉
You’re welcome! It sounds like you’re very passionate about the game haha
@@craigelbagel0012 It is a fond game from my childhood. And 100% everything back then was something I really enjoyed doing (except in this game, where there is no reward).
All that work and what did it get me lol
Just like Animal Crossing Wild World’s reward for finishing your house payments.
Even japanese version of this game had Fake Crash as an unlockable.
Caddy would be proud
"Why is it 5 hours, this game wasn't _that_ long was it?"
The very first challenge requires reducing the health of three AIs from 15 to 0 three times in a row.
"Oh... right."
Yeap. Every minigame has 5 collectibles equating to 10 rounds, and thats only if you dont mess up. It was a drag at times making this.
At the very least the challenge modes only need to won once
@@auberry8613 oh my God can you imagine if 3 rounds were required to win? 🙄🤦🏽♂️
@@bartdude82 Just imagining having to Win 3 rounds in a row on Sky Balls crystal challenge makes me want to hide in my closet in the fetal position.
@@craigelbagel0012 the exact reason I just play the crash bash demo on Spyro 3 and do an extra code to unlock a crap load of minigames, because this game would be way to tedious for me.
This game finally gets punished for its incessant cheating. Never a more glorious sight.
Holy shit, I commented on this video? Time flies.
So satisfying to watch this game get destroyed like this. The amount of pain and rage people who played this went through...rarely seen such a scummy AI in games. Awesome work.
The "You fail part” always made me cry and cuss as a kid doing the gem , and Crystal challenges .
Good god I hate this game. It's one of the few games I've ever owned that I've voluntarily parted with.
@@guybrush1701 Hahaha 🤣 oh come on, that's half the fun. The seething boiling rage that drives you to the edge of madness lol
@@kingtonsiljockey528 ugh, lol. I was irritated and moreso dissapointed that the case boasted it had like 20+ different minugames or something and come to find out they counted each and every fucking variation of the same goddam game a different game. That's low.
@@KingDraco5 Tell me about it i broke controller and screamed lot of times due to this game.
Ofc 3 years later when SOMEONE makes a video on how painful 200% this game THIS is what shows up on my recommendations
Im glad this video has blessed your timeline. I hope it takes some of the pain away.
Ff😂
This speedrun is basically a complete demolition job to the game's extremely unfair difficulty.
Doing that on 1:38:58 was something I wanted to do for the longest time when I was a kid and now, I finally get to see it happen.
It was difficult even using the TAS tools! Was ecstatic when I got it.
This is the most underrated tas on the entire website. The hilarious moments of inactivity and just PUNISHING the CPU is so entertaining to watch. Great job
Thankyou
No way this video was under caddy video 😭😭😭
@@idioticbrady RUclips just wants to show him up in how to play Kong well
Those ''winning by 1 point at the last second'' moments may be considered entertainment to some but to me they are considered psychological torture
>:) But remember, Kong is inevitable
@@craigelbagel0012 *enemies explode while Kong spins in the tank screaming*
I’m convinced Crash Bash was made as a form of psychological torture after watching Caddy’s video of him 200%ing Crash Bash.
2:05:30 It's just an amazing stuff there. Standing still for a minute, doing nothing and then winning by 1 point three times in a row. That's just perfection there. You've done an incredibile work with this entire TAS run, props to you.
Thankyou! Many hours of work well worth
@@craigelbagel0012 What's the strategy behind it?
@@Pepe-pq3om Strategy behind what? Making the TAS? Lots of spare time and work.
@@craigelbagel0012 No he means the strategy behind not moving until the very end. Why stand still and do nothing until the end? What's the point?

The TAS Kong is how I remember the actual AI acting when I played this as a kid tbh
Ah yes. 5 hours of a single childhood game to fall asleep to.

MUAHAHAHAHA
BAA! BAA!
Yeah, finally is here!! Very entertaining TAS with funny moments, among my favorites: Win a match in platinum relic challenge walking backwards in KEK Kaboom, push CPUs out of bounds in splash dash and more. In fact, you were my inspiration to make random tases of this game. Great job dude.
This was the catharsis I didnt know I needed.
Ive finally shed the trauma of my childhood and will become a productive member of society now.
3:54:42 *Michael Jackson enters the chat*
Great job on the TAS! And the thumbnail is legendary.
The thumbnail 👌
The quality is infinity.
2:51:35 bro deleted everyone from existence
TAS Koala Kong: “Today, we use our power to fell a good… and seize our destiny!”
Crash Bash: My difficult is inevitable
Kong: I am Kong.
*Decimates game in 5 hours*
Seing the game instead of you get cheated is such a marvelous sight
Finally, this game has been conquered for once and for all.
Congrats man!
Kong is the hero who will save the universe from Crash Bash AI.
3:44:16 you actually do nothing for a minute and yet still win against Tiny. What a flex. Great job!
Gotta love the “I fell in a hole but I won” thing in future bash!!
Such a great part of the game 🤣😂
It was a nightmare to get 200% back in the day. This video is giving me so much satisfaction.
As it was for me making it. Thankyou!
I love the pained sounds that Koala Kong's polar bear makes
Seeing those Dot Dash races ridiculous glitch where simply passing a certain area of the checkered line has been a satisfying watch being able to use that to tas advantage.
Honestly, the dash stages were some of the most fun to do, trying out all the lap glitches. Im glad you enjoyed it.
Sponsor Blocker detected every loading screen, meaning I could skip each one and reduce the vid to only 4 hours. That's how much time is eaten up by the Loading screens.
@@amaeo5170 I’ve never officially timed them but I am not surprised in the slightest. Usually the arrow keys work just as well for me too.
My sponsor blocker didn't do that, but that's still hilarious

Well when items, like wumpa or bombs, spawn on top of a placed mine, it instantly sets it off. Probably to avoid overlapping of items.

Thanks. Great list 😂
Also this list has been great to go back and watch some of the best/funny moments.
Also the ending is possible outside of TAS, using Memory Manipulation in the save file name screen (it's a long story) you can do some funky things.
I changed the music to the credits music, made the background spin really fast, and made the bossfight insta win so we could watch the final cutscene without having to beat Oxide again.
After 26 years I’m just now finding out this characters name is Kong and not Carl 😢😢😢
After watching almost all of this, i can say that the gems are the most satisfying to watch, since they can end so quickly, also applies to the more obnoxious crystal challenges.
0:23 It was more than just a fart
Is this intro a bit out of character for a game about an orange rat? Surprisingly- *_no it isnt_*
3:10:37 The rare instance of the AI pondering if it was right to bully the players all these years.
Amazing playthrough, my man! This was a cathartic watch 😌
Thankyou! Also very satisfying to make.
People who want a remake of this game are 1000% nostalgia pilled. This game is legit a repetitive, frustrating and unfair mess lol.
I think the premise was good but the execution not so much. I think a remake would be ok if they changed quite a few things about it. But a remaster wouldnt cut it personally.
Tbh, I think a remake would give Toys For Bob a shot at making this game good. Plus, it'd have potential for a fun title like "Crash Bash: Re-Mash!" Or something similarly silly
I love this game! Thank you for the TAS!
You're very welcome! Glad you found it :)
I felt personally avenged on such outstanding performance on such unforgiving game, lots of rage moments came because of this game. Congratulations on your achievement!
Thankyou :)
19:52 maintaining exactly 69 points and winning has to be the greatest flex of all time
I agree thankyou
I remember how horrible was the AI in this game. I've never been able to make it to 200%, it's so hard. :D TAS runs are amazing.
God. This looks hellish
Amazing work on this TAS ! It was really entertaining :)
thankyou so much!
I'm watching this after watching Caddy's video.
@@fghdkjlfkghfc just watched his video as well. He’s not lying about load screens or pogo. Even I struggled.
So much shit jammed into this game that even doing a TAS, the theoretical perfect run, takes 5+ hours. Jim Caddick, we salute you and the sacrifice of ~20 hours of your life to get this twice.
Fun Fact this game with the TAS takes longer to Speedrun than it does to 100 percent complete every single Classic Crash Platformer on the PS1.
I didnt even consider this but damn youre right...
Crazy that seemingly a third of this TAS is just spent staring at the loading screen alone
Sadly, yes. Emulator loads arent great. And well... some of the rounds are just so fast.
I hope you still enjoyed the entertaining parts :)
YES! I have waited for YEARS to see a TAS of this game, a playthrough which finally gets revenge on just how blatent and infuriatingly obviously it cheats! Finally some TAS justice!
And people who think modern day FIFA/COD etc are bad for rage quits have never played this game!
haven't played it in ages, how does it cheat?
@@AstridLilith I assume the game takes information about the player such as their direction, items etc. to anticipate what their intent is.
So if you play the game normally, the AI will constantly predict you which is very frustrating.
Kong probably understands how the AI is designed and can beat it at its own game by feigning his intent or predicting what it will do instead.
@@hugoclarke3284 well, depending on how much that improves the AI play I don't think that's actually cheating. without that, the AI would probably suck. if you're right, maybe it should be more balanced? idk, but thanks for explaining
also, tricking the AI using that is really clever. I wonder how doable that is in non-TAS runs but I don't have very high expectations
The "cheatiness" comes into play the further you go, not only does the AI get harder, the STATS are getting tweaked, you making less damage in tank/brawler type arenas and they do MORE damage. Same with "sumo ring" maps, where your "weight" is reduced and theirs increased...
@@AstridLilith The guy above me explained it better, in case you didn't see. I also remember the AI targeting YOU, SPECIFICALLY, and basically gang up to beat the crap out of you. What's supposed to be a 4 way brawl becomes 3 vs 1.
when it takes a bot that is programmed to be literally PERFECT at the game 5 hours to complete, i shudder to imagine what it'd take for the average person to do it
if only there was a 1 hour 37 minute video explaining it
oh well
2:19 tiny just willingly let that bell in, it wasn't even launched
Now that I know as an adult what a nightmare completing this game is, I'm glad I just settled for beating the final boss as a kid. This is such a nightmare that even speedrunners hate it and even the TAS has issues, that's saying something.
Oh man nostalgia. Playing it with friends like 10+ years ago
Great Tas Even Though it reminded me how Painfully Tedious it is and alot of Fails I had years ago Awesome Job on this Tas
I swear to GOD the AI in this game is fucking sentient and it gets PISSED everytime we reawaken them back into this fucking game
Just watched the whole thing! Truly a joy to watch, U added a lot of TAS swag which was really cool.
Crash Bash is the only party game that make you suffer only to unlock 3 extra mini game to play, what a great game!
Oh. My. God... This has to be the *GREATEST* TAS in Crash Bash history! Never expected to see the AI being bullied, humiliated and reduced to oblivion lmaooo There were so many flexes as well, loved it! The narrator should have added 'BRUTALITY' after every "Kong/You win(s)" xD Great work!

@@Kummahndough because this is done on emulator, the loads are about twice as long. But if you include countdown timers and item animations then yeah it’s a lot.
