When the SM64 120 TAS came out in 2012 I thought to myself "I wonder what a DK64 101% TAS would look like" and after over a decade Ballaam has finished what I thought would never happen. Congrats and amazing job Ballaam!

He's not trying to profit off others' content, he's trying to help those videos reach a wider audience while clearing up misconceptions that would lead people to make ignorant comments like yours. Almost all of his videos are made in collaboration with the person who did the speedrun/TAS.

It only takes 1:17 for walls to immediately be dismissed as legitimate barriers in this game
Makes me wonder if the intangible walls on certain multiplayer maps are an in-joke from the developers.

GGs, crazy how optimal the LOTAD was even with the route changes, a lot of cinematics and loading in this game but 13 minutes is still crazy

A few people are asking about a commentary VOD, so i figure I'd pin this.
We had some issues with the commentary stream, since we used Discord YT share activity and found out during the comms stream that it is pure trash and no-one should ever use it again.
2dos is currently in the process of fixing up the VOD so that its a better end product for RUclips. Should be live within the coming days and ill add it to the description when it is.

Finding this just made me day and week now that I can watch it and learn so much more about the game. I can now think about how Rareware might have intentionally played us all leaving some or all these glitches for us to find one day to pass down not knowing the full extent speedrunners would develop and evolve DK64.
This is the one game I can watch get speedran over and over. It's so fascinating to watch just how much this game breaks from even a little nudge, and how that affects progression.

This was the first game I owned when I was a child. I distinctly remember getting nauseated from the camera. Maybe that subconsciously formed my dislike of Donkey Kong as an adult lol

It's taken for the purpose of swag. There's no way to speed up the timer, and there's nothing else that's beneficial to the end time of the run in terms of that room to do

I wonder if the any% glitch that gives all power ups would speed it up at all? There was a glitch found that would give a slew of upgrades along with all weapon upgrades by using the cutscene menu and that is the glitch I am referencing.
MMM, the glitch you are referring to, is banned in 101%. This is because the game doesn't save Colored Banana or coin flags during MMM, so means that duplication is possible and far too easy to do. Additionally, it was banned as getting all the moves from the mystery bosses goes against the spirit of 101%

There appears to be times where the TBS cam doesn’t show up despite it seeming like TBS was being used. Is that deliberate? I’m currently at the factory section of the video and I have noticed it a couple of times.
I didn't do TBS cam for the sections which are less significant

Given this took 2 years, and AC would be longer, almost certainly no. AC also kinda removes a lot of the nice timesavers, like rabbit Race Skip and Caves blast Skip. Small banana routing would also be a bit less entertaining as there's no decision about what 25 per kong to skip, or whether it's best to trade some bananas from another kong.

So do you still have the save state from the first run and the second and do you think that someone could ever do the work to get it to sync properly?
Also, is the issue related to a subframe problem and how controller inputs impact processing time for when the game actually calls the RNG seed function? Like, I kinda think I get why there was the desync with a new computer but also don't.
1) I think I do on my old SSD but it doesn't matter
2) It is possible to resync this, but it's a lot of work and I don't expect anyone to do that work.
