Can't believe this is the last Conan omnibus from Marvel... I've been so happy to become a Conan fan thanks to there reprints of the classic Marvel & Dark Horse comics. Can't wait to see Titan Comics bring a happy ending to the Original (Marvel) Years run... I also can't wait to see what new adventures TC gives us too!
Seeing this Jim Lee Red Sonja in this cover makes me wish that he did more Red Sonja pieces.
Volume 10 for a Marvel omnibus! Unheard of! Thanks, Omar, for the Conan overview!
Marvel comics has done an awesome job in the restoration of the Omnis I have collected over the years. They don't even look like oldies. I can't wait to see what Titan comics will do. Big shotout to Marvel comics has been doing. I appreciate them and can't wait for years to come of classic superhero icons. Thank you for a good Conan run.💯💯💯
Can’t wait to dig into this one! Love all the Conan Omnibus’s
I went with the McFarlane cover since I got the Jim Lee cover with vol 9. I’ve already preordered Savage Sword vol 1, it’s the only one I missed getting @ Marvel. I’m hoping Titan will continue both Savage Sword & King Conan omnibus past the volumes Marvel completed with those runs.
You picked up the right cover. Titan, send Omar Conan books as soon as possible. Waiting for his word before pulling the trigger.
This book looks like it delivers ⚔️
Omar - Just a thought - maybe pass Titan a note to continue the Epic’s for Conan - barbarian Omni’s are done and they might not sell as well .. ideally they continue the savage sword and King series and continue the epics - reprints can come later … if they sell well we be fit from more books … they don’t sell well, they might cancel omnis and we won’t get savage sword or King
I just bought this. One of many Omnis which I have bought after watching your videos. I jumped off Conan when Roy Thomas left but Imjumoed back in for his final run. I hope I can do the same for his later Savage Sword issues.
I ordered the Jim Lee cover but honestly I would have preferred one of the Colin MacNeil covers even though he isn't as big a "name". I loved this run of Conan, it was a real return to form and Micheal Docherty (pronounced Dock-er-tee) was a very under-rated penciller, he gave Conan back some of that grit that Buscema had.
"Devourer of Souls" sounds like a GWAR song. ;)
RIP Oderus.
If this isn't a sign to buy the book of Robert E. Howard, then I don't know what is. Just today I've been reading it to determine if I should buy it. Even though I made the wrong choice, thank you for making this video in the exact moment in time.
Wow, 10 volumes in total. I would never have been able to keep up on this series, so it's probably better I didn't get it. How many volumes is Savage Sword?
Nine so far and they are all being reprinted by Titan.
Sad to see Conan ending but excited about Titan getting the rights. The future looks bright. Now we need a 3rd Conan film and it'll be peachy😅
There was a third Conan film starring Jason Mamoa. It was panned by critics but I found it entertaining.
@@mrwasi99 I've seen it once and wasn't a patch on the Arnold version. I'm hoping for a King Conan.
While this was a fun period in the Conan canon (if not somewhat too heavy on nostalgia) I've never understood Roy Thomas' claim that the series had significantly deviated from the official outline. When Roy left in 1980, DeMatteis covered the Black Colossus period in flashbacks and then had Conan make his way home to Cimmeria. From there Jones and Fleisher basically had Conan meander around the northern lands for a while until James Owsley put Conan in Koth for the 'rebel prince' period. As far as I can tell this pretty much follows the official outline. Roy's condensing that whole period into a couple of years and then repeating the process (Black Colossus/Cimmeria/rebel Kothian prince) makes little sense to me.
With this purchase I will complete my collection of every Robert E Howard "Original Marvel Years" omnibus! I will try for the Jim Lee/Red Sonja cover, because, well, it's Jim Lee drawing Red Sonja, but the MacFarlane cover looks pretty cool too.
I don't need to pick up any of the reprints that Titan will issue (since I paid an arm and a leg for Savage Sword 1 before the Titan deal was announced) but I will absolutely be buying their continuation of the Savage Sword collections. Beyond that, I hope Marvel moves on to publishing the whole CrossGen line after they publish the Sigil omnibus. I'll need them to fulfill my cravings for High Adventure.
Crom! Finally, last one, went with the DM covers on all these and on all the Savage Sword, wish they could have finished out, but at least Titan wil continue
I got all the original Savage sword of Conan's I've had them for years. got the first copy that's been graded at 9.8. bought the first omnibus but didn't see no point in buying another set of savage sword. I did buy a set of the dark horse savage sword softcover books to read. The Original magazines got information that the omnibus don't have but the omnibus have other stories that I don't have so it works either way I guess. Coolest book I have for myself is the 20th anniversary book about the making of the Conan swords for the 82 movie. I'm quoted in the book. Cool knowing my name is immortalized in the book between lord of the rings and Conan the barbarian. There was a contest about the handle material wrapping for the atlantean swords length. I had made a scale version long time ago so I guessed just under 25. 96 feet. I was afraid to guess higher because I thought it would disqualify my guess if I guessed over. The correct answer was 26 ft. I didn't win much but I did get to be in the book which was cool enough.
Props to Marvel for pumping these books out over the past few years and bigger props to those with the $$$ to buy them all! They all look impressive on the bookshelf. Thanks Omar!
Saw the thumbnail and knew ASAP the cover was by JIM LEE!!
Definitely picking it up. Got to get the reprints from Titan when they release. As they’re the ones im missing.
I accept you apology about trade Tuesday. 😀But please review Spider-Man Revenge of the Spider Slayer next week. I am so excited to see your thoughts. Hoping to get my copy this week.👍 Just don't skip next week. Otherwise I'll be writing a angry letter to Santa asking for no New Warriors omnibus 3 in 2024. Santa is on the beach with sunglasses, sipping pina colada as we speak.😋😂
Does it come out on the 4th? spider slayer and last hunt were listed for the 3rd but amazon doesn’t have them available.
@@nothingisitchingme5874 I got a email from Speedyhen saying the release date from the publisher was the 5th for both books. I think Amazon just haven't had their shipment in yet.🙂
@@nothingisitchingme5874 Amazon usually are a bit slow in getting books in so probably say end of the week into next week at the earliest🙂
@@stephentheshywarrior2759 thanks for the quick answer brother 🤙
Anytime😀
I just purchased my ToddFather copy, crazy end of an era of Marvel Omnis…
What is it about the Conan material that they were able to pump them out at the rate they have while Uncanny X-Men is only now getting to volume 5? Were they just eager to get these out before they lost the license again or is it something else?
I was hoping a reprint of the 90s series including the Rune crossover. I very much doubt it will happen now.
Forget bleed-through…I’m happy when I get an Imak book without faded pages or even inconsistent paper stock. My copy of Conan vol 10 has no less than 20 pages of faded artwork, 15 of which are in the final issue. Imak is absolutely the worst printer Marvel has used (and continues to use more than any other), with absolutely zero consistency in quality control
Hey Omar, any word yet on Colossal Conan reprints from Titan comics yet?Thank you for the video.I am getting this cover as well.
It's sad that they couldn't squeeze in the few Roy Thomas Conan mini series he did for Marvel after the ongoing series ended.
Or the CtB continuation in SSOC.
I think Titan will be collecting those books in a volume 11.
Do you know if Titan will only start the "reprints" from vol 1, or will they simultaneously also start releasing from where Marvel stopped so those of us that have everything won't have to wait X years til they catch up?
good question.
They will release them simultanious
@@ajjones7013 That would be fantastic if that's true. Do you have a source for that? I can't find anything about it.
@@MrDLRUclips Well now of course I cant find where I heard it, but Im positive I heard or read that they will push out the first couple reprints and then pick back up where Marvel left off. It may even have been said in Omar's video that he did on the Titan reprints.
@@MrDLRUclips Savage Sword vol.9 is slated for next fall, from Titan Comics.
I am trying to collect 2 or 3 omnis from the conan series; Savage, original years, King conan, etc. Which two omnis are the best? They can be oop, i just want to know your thoughts. Thanks in advance !
I wish DC would get on the fantasy train and give us The Warlord, Arak, Claw, and Sword & Sorcery Omnibuses.
Warlord would be Epic in omnibus format!
I would love to have Warlord in omnis, such a great series. Arion would be fun too.
@@Krypton_Ken Arion was awesome. I can not believe I forgot about it.
@@JClif Arion is an old favorite. Honestly, I wouldn't mind an Amethyst omni or even a Sword of the Atom deluxe edition. DC had some cool fantasy books back then, wish they'd reprint those in some format.
Unfortunately DC are pretty awful at collecting books in comparison to Marvel
I got the Jim Lee cover to Omar.
Are you going to make an overview of Books of magic omnibus 3?
So as someone who has wanted these but didn't have the budget to start, what would you recommendations be? Should I start now trying to get these, or being out of print are they going to be so expensive there is no point in trying to start collecting them.
Or should I wait for Titan to reprint them. Is Titan going to reprint them. Is Titan the name of the publisher that has Conan now?
I'd wait for the Titan reprints. Maybe they're gonna use a better printer for their Conan books ...
Wait for Titan, the Marvel Omni's are just going to go up in price.
Thanks for the advice guys. That is the way I was learning. The reason I slept on the Conan omni was because I have the really hot take that I prefer the Dark Horse recolor/Roy Thomas text bits in the Conan trades and I wanted to collect those. But then I ran into some of them costing way way too much and had to stop. So I could totally see that happening again if started late with them now.
It's Doherty, the 'c' is silent.
Are these coated or uncoated paper? By watching the video I'm pretty sure they're glossy. But I need to be sure. The Brazilian ones are uncoated, the colors are underwhelming and I'm about to import a Marvel original to check it out.
These are glossy paper stock.
Make sure to pre-order your volume 1. Conan, in case you missed it the first time. They have two different BWS covers available this time.
Is that captain marvel omnibus (visible at 2:49) out yet?
Hi Uncanny Omar! How many Conan Omnibus Volumes are there so far? Thank you so much
There's
10x Conan The Barbarian
8x Savage Sword Of Conan
1x King Conan
1x Conan by Kurt Busiek
Titans will reprint a few of the early books, and simultaneously continue the series where Marvel left off
What target audience is Conan for? Is it only for mythology and folklore fans?
What's Target audience. Conan books have always been popular, millions of books and novels sold. My favorite was Savage sword of Conan it was more R rated stories and graphics.
I love the time period of the dark ages, swords and adventures. I'm not big into superhero type comics.
So Marvel jumps the price up to $150 to gouge the Conan fans one last time ? Classic Marvel 😂
My thoughts exactly. Any opportunity to say eff you to the fans
Do you know when House of M is going to release? Cheap Graphic Novels have it at 01/10/2023 and IST has 01/04/2023. So I am confused.
Never pay attention to IST's release dates. They lost track of the changing release dates when covid hit and have never attempted the correct them in 2 years. If a date changes, no one at IST is going to lift a finger to do anything about it. Previews World and Penguin Random House Comics Retail are two of the most accurate sources. Though for the last year, Amazon is extremely accurate. If a date changes, Amazon is on it within 24 hours
know o thy prince! in the land of the hardcoveryia ...hither came omar .. a bronze chested bearded collector !
I have the omni now as well. This is by far the worst printing and the thinnest paper I have seen. The printing problem in #269 is present in my copy as well. This is a shoddy product and if it wasn't the last Conan in the series, I would send that back. If this gets the norm, I will think twice ore more to buy another Marvel omni.
I have a question omar. Does conan get red sonja pregnant?
No.
@@davidgraham8299 Oh thank god.
the Conan Omnibus became such a rip off around Vol 7. barely thicker than a Masterworks.
I agree, this could have been completed in less than 10 books.
@@vincentimbesi3947 or they could have found a place for the Conan the Adventurer follow on series
It was since since vol 6, they basically became half the size (with no price drop). They could've completed the entire run in 7-8 omnis easily. And vol 10 is an increase in price from the previous ones. A final "thank you" from Marvel to the fans for their support
@@WigglyMcWiggly They sure squeezed every penny out of us!
@@WigglyMcWiggly yeah vol 10, close to $100 discounted!
Barf…it’s no Ghost Rider.
You really like Ghost Rider don't ya.🤔
@@stephentheshywarrior2759 if u wanted to grab an Epic or Omni of 90s GR…can u? Or r we just limited to Spider-Man and Conan? That’s the point.
Outside of ASM Spider-Man isn't collected well either. Spectacular has never been collected fully and Web of Spider-Man has been completely neglected in omnis, Master works and epics. But I can see where you are coming from. Also want to see Alpha Flight.
@@stephentheshywarrior2759 you can reach on any shelf and grab spiderman or Conan of any era. You cannot do the same with GR.
