I just want to take a moment and deeply thank David Gabriel and the entire Marvel Collected Editions team for all the Conan Omnis we got. You all rocked getting as much as we could in this timeframe. I was all in on getting all of these and will absolutely pick this final one up. I will keep my hope forever that one day you get the license back and continue on with what’s left in Omni form. @@swampcrypt Sadly no. Marvel did not renew the license to print these comics. Titan has picked up the Conan family of comics license for January 2023 onward. These comics may be printed by them in who knows what format however it won’t be continued by Marvel in these beautiful oversized Omnibus formats.

Ive seen tons of comments in the past of a Conan omnibus...i had no idea he was that popular. Now if only Arnold would make a "King Conan' movie!
Just getting into Conan right as Marvel is losing the rights. I was able to pick up the first omni of the original Conan series for $200 on eBay. The most I ever paid for an Omni, but worth it. I love John Buscema, so I may get the standard edition of this book too.

On a related note, I was lucky enough to meet Ernie Chan a few years back at the Calgary con - he was such a nice guy, and I was fortunate to get an amazing Conan sketch from him - RIP
I can’t wait for this. I never read King Conan. Like you Omar, I am going to miss these omnis. Thank David G and his team for these.
One step closer to the end....I'll miss the Conan Omnibuses. I have literally all of them (after paying an arm and leg for Savage Sword #1) and they comprise almost half my omnibus collection. I hope Titan continues them (for Savage Sword) when they get the license.

Sad we're only getting one of the three planned volumes for this series! At least this is relatively self contained and supposedly the strongest of the run. Definitely picking up the rest of the Conan omnis Marvel is putting out! Hopefully Heroic Signatures and Titan decide to continue this and the SSOC lines.

@@Dominik-jv5vm Marvel dosent have the rights to Conan/Kull/Robert E. Howard anymore, Titan books does. That and in Europe Conan is public domain. Marvel didn't wanna spend anymore money on the license. Titan should have their first comic out on Free comic book day and then in June/July they will start their regular series, and they will be reprinting and completing the Marvel Omnibus line as well.
The only way Arnold could ever have a slight chance at redeeming himself in the eyes of his former fans is by returning as King Conan as old man Arnold. It won’t excuse the fact that he was a corrupt AF and orchestrated the release of a murderer who killed an innocent teenage boy, though

Went with dm cover but this and volume 8 of original years are my favorite modern covers for the Conan lines
I am trying to collect 2 omnis from the conan series; Savage, original years, King conan, etc. Which two omnis are the best? They can be oop, i just want to know your thoughts. Thanks in advance !
I have this on pre-order, Roy Thomas and John Buscema are easily the best Conan Comics combo. Naturally I bought the Buscema cover, I don't know why anyone would buy the other one tbh.

Have had this preordered for a long while..actually I have all the remaining Conan preordered...not gonna miss out.I really hope Titan Comics gives us some kind of deluxe hardcover covering the Dark Horse material by Busiek and Truman.

First, I'm so happy to get a new omni overview from you Omar! I've missed these as it seems so long ago since the last one. Can't wait for this omni to come to me as well as the last few that are coming before the end of the year. Very sad that Marvel won't get to finish Conan the King and Savage Sword runs but I'm happy for what we did get! Thank you David Gabriel and the folks at Marvel.
I just bought this. The original artwork of the cover of Issue 7 is just beautiful.
My only quibble with this is that this could have been done complete in two large omnibuses instead of three of this size 🧐

I will bet titan will go with scans from old comics with a bit or restoration. Not the way marvel does with super bright on glossy paper

I'm thinking about picking this up but knowing that it's not the complete run and how Marvel has lost the rights to do more is putting me off purchasing it. I wonder how Titan will handle Conan.
Titan has claimed they're going to launch new titles for Conan, Kull etc. and also reprint old material as well but they haven't said what or when so hopefully we will get Conan: The King vol 2 and 3.

Gosh I so wish I was into the omni game back when these all started being printed in this format😄 would love to have collected these. Not sure if the current situation is going to allow me to ever get started so Ill have to hold off for now but who knows if I see some in the wild I might try pick some up on a whim😁 great overview as always Omar👌🏼🤟🏼

Well it's been a long run for Conan the Barbarian too bad we can't get the same for the Conan the King Run but let's see what Titan Comics does and they bet not give us the collection of Conan in paperback again like Dark Horse comics I want hardcover damn it!!!!. But I will get The Andrew cover on the 23rd of August along with my favorite Norse God The mighty Thor omnibus volume 1 and quick Question Omar do you think since we getting a volume 4 of the Mighty Thor omnibus do you think there will be a Volume 5 some day?

Marvel has not had the licensing rights to Conan renewed. Nevertheless, they published the first part of the King Conan series as Conan the King Omni Vol. 1. Who will continue the series now? Do you have some news for us or did you heard some rumours or confirmed news?

Marvel omnis are increasingly coming out with super thin paper and bleed in is becoming pretty bad.

Wait, so I was planning to ask during the AMA but does this mean the Conan omnis will for sure never be reprinted, at least in the immediate future? I may need to gird my loins and pick up Savage Sword vols 1, 2, 3, and 4 in the aftermarket, I absolutely cannot miss out on these.
These versions won't be reprinted. Titan has the license from Jan 2023 onwards. The material likely will be reprinted sometime, but who knows in what format; won't be in this form viz Marvel Trade dress, branding etc.

Those Prince Valiant books are superb. Some of those Silvestri faces are hmmmmm. Would have been better as a B&W.
I dont understand why marvel doesnt just rush out and release volume 2 and 3 in december. I remember dark horse did something similar with their last 2 colossal conan books

Basically marvel chose not to renew the right so Titan comics have them from January.

I wouldn't let it go. The stories in this volume are self-contained and the stories in the later issues aren't as great as the ones collected here.
Marvel could have removed the volume 1 from the title since no more omnibus will be released.

Ok so I've just learned Marvel has relinquished distribution rights. I've collected all the Conan omnibuses to date. Anyone have an idea as how many were to go to complete Savage Sword and Original Marvel Years? Shame to be stuck with incomplete series (again), but I guess it's great to have the volumes we do. Also I will save money as these were expensive. I imagine it's unlikely Titan will continue.
I read somewhere that in order to complete the Savage Sword omnibus run there would have to be 16 or 18 I can't remember the number now, they will be finishing the Conan The Barbarian omnibus series with number 10 coming out in December, nothing however has been said about King Conan (as opposed to Conan the King which was the first half or so of the run)
Sucks Marvel lost the rights. I was hoping for a reprint of the first omnibus but sadly no. I’ll just have to read it digitally as I will not be paying second hand prices. Glad we got what we got though.

We're on Vol. 8 of Savage Sword of Conan. Does anyone know if we will get the full run printed? That's my favorite omnis for Conan.
Not by Marvel. It’s a wait and see for SSOC omnibus volumes 9-15 or 16 will be done by Titan. As well as Conan the King volume 2 and 3, plus Conan the Savage, Conan the Adventurer, and material from Conan Volume 1 as well as the CtB minis that were done mid 90’s.

This only does 1 - 19, I don't know if they put any annuals in there but on that basis they would have to print 3 omnibus volumes

@@ComicSwag Titan have already said that they are going to finish off the omnibus editions, it's a matter of when, they want to start a new run of Conan comics abd magazines along with Kull, Solomon Kane and Dark Agnes, so it's not going to be any time soon unless they do a deal with Marvel to carry on and finish off the Savage Sword omnibus run and any other loose ends on the Conan omnibuses, just because they don't have the licence it doesn't mean that they cannot print them off to finish the series, it may come down to a double name deal... "Marvel and Titan" logos where it was just Marvel before just to finish the projects, a bit like the one shot deals with Dark Horse and other independent comic companies which became running series in their own rights (Batman vs Predator, Batman vs Judge Dread, Batman, Superman vs Aliens etc)...just my opinions but it would make sense for Titan to do that way to keep the fans happy and ease the Conan readership over to them......
