I have the Marvel version of this, but happy to see it reprinted for those who haven’t gotten it yet. Great stories and my dream scenario for the Avengers Secret Wars movie is for a portal to open up and out comes Arnold Schwarzenegger as an aged King Conan with his army to help out the Avengers.
Did anybody notice the big coloring mistake on the Titan dust jacket?? Between those "blue" people lots of yellows supposed to be from the background, but instead all is colored blue.
So glad this is available, as I missed out on the Marvel omnis. I have the Titan Savage Sword 1 omni, so looking forward to this one too. I really think that Titan has better production quality control than Marvel for their printers. I’m willing to accept delays for better production quality. Marvel should be as demanding of their printers. These aren’t cheap books, but I feel like some Marvel omnis have cheap production quality. Also glad to see they included the Elric stories. Yeah, it’s Elric with a goofy hat, which is not really Elric, but oh well. All good.
I was just finding my feet with omnibus collecting when marvel pushed the conan line none other, so missed out and wasn't going to be scalped by resellers. So when titan announced this like 2 years ago, I knew I needed to start. Now I have this omnj along with savage, I cannot decide which to read first. Nice review as always and I thank you for excellent review. Sadly my wallet still hates you 😂
Noticed that the front AND back of the hardcover (under the dust jacket) have shifted the logos off center. I'll be keeping my dustjacket on, so pretty sure I'll forget about it.
Very excited for this as I don't own a Conan Omni yet. I do have a box set I haven't read yet from Ablaze called The Cimmerian, what's the difference with that title ?
Ok I heard u say a vol.11 starting the new series ... that totally threw me off 😂 now are we talking the dark horse stuff or are we talking 90s Conan which I hear so mush about but never read
Oh, yeah, I see Omar answers this off the bat. I wonder how they'll deal with the three What If crossover issues. (The first didn't really have any meaningful Marvel character appearances.)
Also, I think it's interesting you're pointing out the front and back logo being different size and placed different from each other. Allthough that is true I'm sitting here reading Marvels omnibus vol 4 and it does not look like anyone of these. Both the front and back logo are placed differently from where both Titan and Marvels vol 1. So I guess they never paid much attention getting those things correct.
Had this and 4 more Conan books pre-ordered for forever now, watched their release dates get pushed back like 5 times. I'm really hoping this time they make it to my home. Sorry, but the release date change right about the time they are to be released over and over has made me grow weary of Titan Comics even though I want so much to support there omni's. Here's to hoping they accidentally finally release these. Edit after just starting to watch the video and you're mentioning SS on the 1st or 2nd.... Savage Sword on CGN is now October 15th.... see what I mean.
For once I got the new book BEFORE Omar did a video on it! She's a beaut. Two years' worth of BWS' developing art skills from near the beginning of his career... just lovely.
@@NearMintConditionthat was marvel’s prototype of Conan and was a test run for them. On a graded version of the comic it says it s a prototype of Conan. Marvel owns that book and it has nothing to do with mainstream Conan.
Didn't they say they were recolouring this to be more accurate? I swear that was said when it was announced. A little disappointed tbh but great overview as always, Omar!
They absolutely said that. To the point I was considering buying this as an upgrade. My wallet is very relieved that it's the same as the Marvel omni. :)
When this was originally released from Marvel, I was busy and went online to order it 5 hours after it was released, and the DM cover was already sold out, so I was left with the standard edition. I'm not a fan of that cover, but that's how the story went. The Titan cover choices are far superior to what marvel chose, whoever that was I give you the finger. What some awful covers especially for 5-7. Barf

@@TristanHogue-d4yno the marvel version is better. You get chamber of darkness #4 with the marvel omnibus and that’s the prototype issue of Conan.

The colouring on the cover is all over the place when you compare this to the Original. Good job they didn't rush it out!

I love Conan but I think these earlier stories are a little too tame for me. The art build of the book look absolutely stunning though.
Where is a good starting point? Also, how do the conan stories compare to salvage conan? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
