      By gawking you mean just filming. Unfortunately, this is what the social construct has become. Not bragging but, I was the last generation whom was able to appreciate my youth, development, and graduation throughout high school without any cellphones or cameras. In the past, they were just "rumors"; true or not. Now, I can't imagine how people can stand around and record a person's downfall just for content.

    • @benfaulkner4710
      @benfaulkner4710 8 дней назад

      I understand your frustration with vandalism; it's a serious issue regardless of the cause. However, let's not lose sight of the bigger picture here. These activists are drawing attention to a global crisis that affects everyone. While their methods may be controversial, their intent is to spark a much-needed dialogue about our reliance on fossil fuels and the urgent need for environmental action.
      Instead of focusing solely on the act of vandalism, consider the message behind it. The climate crisis is an existential threat, and traditional methods of advocacy have often been ignored. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
      That said, balancing activism with respect for cultural and historical landmarks is crucial. There are ways to protest effectively without damaging irreplaceable heritage sites.
      Your point about the need for legal repercussions is valid, but it’s also important to engage with the underlying issues these activists are trying to highlight. Arresting them won’t solve the climate crisis, but listening to their message and pushing for systemic change just might.

    • @benfaulkner4710
      @benfaulkner4710 8 дней назад

      It's understandable to be annoyed by actions that seem extreme or counterproductive. However, let's dig a bit deeper into why activists might choose such high-profile targets.
      The main goal of these activists is to raise awareness about the urgent need for climate action. Traditional methods of advocacy, such as petitions and peaceful protests, often fail to capture the public's attention or drive meaningful change. By targeting a globally recognized site like Stonehenge, they ensure their message reaches a wide audience and sparks conversation.
      While their tactics can be polarizing and may seem like mere vandalism, the underlying intention is to highlight the severity of the climate crisis. They aim to disrupt the status quo and force people to confront the pressing need for environmental reform.
      It's important to remember that these actions are born out of frustration with the lack of significant progress in addressing climate change. Though controversial, they are a call to action for a problem that affects us all. Instead of dismissing their efforts outright, we should consider the desperation driving these actions and focus on finding effective solutions to the issues they are trying to bring to light.

    • @RockLibertyWarrior
      @RockLibertyWarrior 19 дней назад

      AMEN. Been saying this for years, all this has nothing to do with the "environment", if it did, the globalists would stop driving their four cars, flying their private airplane fleets, they'd stop running their air conditioners in their multiple mansions etc. Its all about control, and they use well meaning people to suit their agenda.

    • @benfaulkner4710
      @benfaulkner4710 8 дней назад

      It's a common misconception that banning oil, gas, and coal would automatically lead to mass starvation and death. The truth is that the transition to renewable energy sources is a complex process that aims to ensure energy security and sustainability while reducing our reliance on fossil fuels. Here are a few points to consider:
      1. Transition Plan: Most advocates for renewable energy support a gradual transition rather than an abrupt ban. This transition includes developing renewable energy infrastructure, such as solar and wind power, while improving energy storage technologies to ensure reliability.
      2. Economic Opportunities: Renewable energy sectors offer significant economic opportunities. Investment in renewable energy creates jobs in manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and research and development. This can offset job losses in the fossil fuel industry.
      3. Technological Advancements: Advances in technology are making renewable energy more efficient and cost-effective. Solar and wind power costs have decreased dramatically, making them competitive with traditional energy sources.
      4. Environmental Impact: Fossil fuels are a major contributor to climate change, which poses significant risks to food security, water resources, and human health. Transitioning to renewable energy can mitigate these impacts and protect vulnerable populations.
      5. Energy Independence: Renewable energy sources can reduce dependence on imported fuels, enhancing national security and energy independence.
      Regarding funding, it's not accurate to assume that all climate activism is funded by billionaires with ulterior motives. Many grassroots organizations and individual activists are driven by genuine concern for the environment and the future of our planet. While there may be funding from wealthy individuals or organizations, the overall movement encompasses a wide range of supporters with diverse motivations.
      For a more balanced perspective, consider looking into reports and studies from reputable sources like the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which provide data and insights on the feasibility and benefits of transitioning to renewable energy.

      Are you seriously equating vandalism with spray painting babies? This kind of hyperbolic nonsense is exactly why rational discussions about serious issues like climate change and environmental activism get derailed.
      Instead of making ludicrous comparisons, how about focusing on the real issue: the urgent need to address climate change and the desperate measures people feel forced to take to get attention for it? These activists are highlighting a legitimate crisis, while you’re trivializing it with absurd hypotheticals. It's time to wake up and engage with the actual problems facing our planet instead of resorting to baseless and inflammatory rhetoric.

      Your outrage is a classic case of missing the point. These activists aren't targeting Stonehenge because they have something against ancient monuments. They're using it as a platform to draw attention to the catastrophic consequences of fossil fuel dependency. If it takes disrupting the status quo to make people like you notice, then maybe it's working.
      And honestly, your fantasy of them getting "a few years in jail" is laughable. They’re trying to save the planet from the grip of industries that are poisoning it, while you’re more worried about a few stones. Your priorities are as backwards as your understanding of the protest.
      If you’re so concerned about pushing people away from the cause, maybe educate yourself on why these drastic measures are deemed necessary. People are already being pushed away from their homes and livelihoods by climate change, but sure, let’s focus on the graffiti.

    What does Stonehenge have to do with oil? It's really stupid and goofy, like when they threw tomato sauce at an oil painting. I'm all for people protesting, but if you're going to do some vandalism...maybe vandalize something that actually has some direct ties to whatever you're protesting.

    • @benfaulkner4710
      @benfaulkner4710 8 дней назад

      Vandalizing Stonehenge or any other cultural icon is not about the target itself but about creating a spectacle that forces people to pay attention. Activists often aim for high-profile actions to get media coverage, which spreads their message further than traditional protests might.
      Protesters believe that by causing a disruption, they can spark a conversation and bring awareness to critical issues like climate change. The goal is to make people uncomfortable enough to think about the problems and demand change.
      While their methods might seem misguided or extreme, the underlying tactic is to draw as much attention as possible to their cause. Whether or not you agree with their approach, the idea is to use the shock value to amplify their message and urge the public and policymakers to take action on urgent issues like fossil fuel dependency.

      Your comment about hypocrisy is not only misguided but also deeply ignorant. Yes, activists may still use products derived from oil because our society is currently heavily dependent on it. This dependency doesn't invalidate their message; it underscores the urgency for change. They are highlighting the need to shift away from an unsustainable system, not claiming to have fully escaped it yet. Instead of deflecting with accusations of hypocrisy, try engaging with the real issues: the devastating impact of fossil fuels on our environment and the urgent need for sustainable alternatives. Your shallow critique adds nothing to the conversation but noise.

      Your comment reveals an utter lack of understanding about the issue at hand. The fact that modern society is heavily dependent on oil and gas doesn't invalidate the activists' message. It highlights the very problem they are fighting against: our overreliance on fossil fuels. Yes, their clothes were likely made using oil-based products-because our entire manufacturing system is entrenched in fossil fuels. The point of their activism is to push for a transition to sustainable and renewable alternatives, so future generations won't be forced into the same destructive cycle. Your guarantee only underscores the necessity for change and reinforces their cause. So, who’s the real hypocrite here? The activists trying to make a change or the people mocking them while benefiting from a flawed system?

    • @benfaulkner4710
      @benfaulkner4710 8 дней назад

      @@stanleycostello9610 Oh, bravo, Sherlock. You've cracked the code! Yes, trucks currently transport items to stores, relying on fossil fuels because that's the infrastructure we've inherited. This is precisely the problem these activists are trying to highlight and change. The goal is to push for a future where sustainable methods replace these outdated, harmful practices. Mocking the status quo while failing to recognize the need for systemic change only shows how short-sighted and resistant to progress you are. So, who’s the real idiot here-the ones advocating for a better future, or those clinging to the past?
