I work in a restaurant and a patron handed me $500 one time. It made my week and while it didn’t pay ALL my monthly bills I set the cash aside and used it for an upcoming vacation with my family. That money created memories for me and it will be that generosity that will stick with me for the rest of my life.

This is a 500 pound man living off of the charity of others, and he has the balls to complain about not making enough money. It’s not a fucking salaried job, he’s promised absolutely nothing for streaming a few hours a day, anything he does make is a donation and should not be expected. I still can’t believe people donate money to him after all of the horrible things he’s been exposed for and how god awful his attitude is all the time.

I was once told - you should stream to entertainment and fun. if you do streaming for money, you are most likely going to lose this game because of following the wrong goal.

I got a $100 donation during one of my live trivia games. It was a rough year for me and I'm a single mom. One of my viewers decided to be so generous. It did make me cry. The fact that some stranger on the internet thought I was worth supporting in that way was an incredible feeling. I had nothing but gratitude

I know wings struggles with depression but the fact that he doesn't do anything about it and constantly lives in negativity makes it hard to have any sympathy. When I struggled with depression it always made me feel good when somebody showed a kindness. $500 is a kindness.

I’ve known people to give the last dollars of their own paycheck to someone they thought could use it more than them just out of the generosity of their own heart. Some people are just plain greedy and will take advantage of the kindness and generosity of others.

What did is when I sat in my car eating my McDonald’s (he didn’t know I could see) to see him toss the bag I gave him in a nicer car than me then go back inside bothering others. For those thinking streaming is literally just free money while you just sit around and play games, I WILL say this ... there's quite a bit more to it than that, especially when you're growing a channel from the ground up. It's advertising, networking with other content creators and communities for visibility, hiring artists to make graphics and streaming interface assets for you (or making them yourself, like I and a lot of streamers tend to do), managing your own community once you start building up an audience, organizing special events for said community ... it can be a lot, and it's a VERY slow grind before you start making any kind of reliable income from it.
I've been streaming a lil' over a year now and I'm only JUST starting to get into a position where I have regulars that donate and gift subs on a continual basis each week and whenever I have larger events. I haven't even hit 500 followers on my Twitch channel yet. Is streaming a considerably easier job than a lot of other work options out there? ABSOLUTELY! But in order to do it right and be a quality content creator worthy of people's attention and money, it still takes a considerable amount of time, patience, and effort.
In other words, everything that WIngs literally DOESN'T do, and yet somehow still has an audience generous enough to donate that much money to his lazy ungrateful ass. If anyone is even THINKING about starting up a business as a streamer, this asshole is a perfect showcase of what NOT to do.
I didn't even know people ever donate THAT much money and he really had to disrespect em like that. Damn. And it's the fact that it's probably the most any of his viewers ever donated, yet he's pissed about it.

Edit: honestly, at this point I can't help but feel sad for him. He needs to come back down, find an actual job he likes and make some money that way. Expecting your audience to "pay your monthly bills" is just not the way life works. People really need to just stop watching his streams and the people around him, his wife, friends, parents, siblings etc. need to slap him back to reality (even though I think they already tried and just failed). Sadly it's been literally over a decade, there's no hope. He's completely self-aware of his situation, but the dude just doesn't want to change and has absolutely no motivation to do anything meaningful. He had so many opportunities to change, even had friends that tried helping him out on multiple occasions. If you wanna learn more details I recommend watching Fredrik Knudsen's video on him. It's sad really, he's just the full embodiment of pathetic.

as a very small streamer (roughly 60 followers + three/four friends who subscribed to me), i am ETERNALLY grateful for whoever does end up donating to my stream. my next door neighbor subscribed to me once on stream, and i literally started crying. there needs to be less streamers panhandling for money, and more streamers creating content for fun.

LITERALLY THIS, thank you. Being a streamer is putting on a performance for an audience. You HAVE to be entertaining and be an enjoyable person to want to hang out with and spend their money on. People who are only in it for making as much money as possible and don't actually enjoy the process ... it's gonna show and it's going to REPELL people, not encourage them. I feel bad for a man who fails to realise how incredibly lucky he is. The best mindset it to always look at those who have less than you so that you can appetite what you have. Even a homeless man can appreciate the fact he isn’t in a war zone. A man with a home can appreciate he isn’t homeless. I’ve never been given $500 to do as I please, from anyone, even people I know. The closest I came was my mom paying for a $250 car part when I was out of work for medical reasons. That’s the only time I was helped by family and didn’t have to pay them back. I can’t imagine giving $500 to a streamer, and I can’t imagine receiving that kind of money from anyone. The most money I have ever gotten from a stranger was a $50 tip on a $30 meal when I was a server. I cried, and that was literally money that I earned.

I'm a cam girl,I've done 12 hour streams before with no breaks and I've made a quarter of what he does per stream. If a viewer sent me £500 I'd cry,it's so incredibly generous especially with the cost of living,I have zero sympathy for him. I don't even get tips,I rely on calls and selling my content to make my money,and the few times I have gotten tips I've said thankyou like any normal person would because its the thing you do when someone gifts you something,it's politeness and clearly he wasn't raised with manners. I love my job. I get to talk to people,to work from home to fit around my disabilities,family life,housework,I get to play with my pets,the downside to it is how as a woman I'm treated or some obsessive fans with weird fetishes,but as a whole it's a great job. He has shit easy,he needs to get tf over it,say thankyou and appreciate that one wrong move and his career will be over. He wouldn't last a day in a conventional job. He should try doing a few months in a retail job and then complain about being given $500 to play video games.....
