I said it before and I'll say it again. As retired law enforcement a retired police officer, any cop that was at that school that day in that hallway or outside during the active incident should have their badge taken for being a coward. There was no excuse for them hiring this girl, they knew who she was. This is yet another failure of the School District.

It must be cheaper to hire a new trainee than to hire an experienced cop. Maybe the school was trying to cut corner by not willing to allocate too much budget/training on the police and security guards. It actually happens more often than you think. Just look at the incident, I am no police but I think it was implied that she didn't know what she was doing. So who is to blame here? Her superior for not providing proper guidance? Or the school for their iffy budget and hire decision?

AAA and 911 couldn't respond yet the swat team has tanks. If it was their children stuck in the snow on a public road with no gas , water or blanket they would have figured it out. I cleared the road that night and never charged a dime. Not one person would hook my rope to their car to save their life for liability reasons. My service dog and I were attacked by a pitbull inside of the terribles gas station in Laughlin Nevada. The first aid kit was for employees only customers must bleed out because of liability and I wasn't somebody's child. 911 showed up with a ambulance and a couple fire trucks but they couldn't help me for liability reasons because I have a service dog and I wasn't somebody's child. The hospital couldn't help me for liability reasons because I have a service dog and I wasn't somebody's child. I had to drive home and still have scars all over my face to remind what a leaderless manless swamp hell country this truly is. I am convinced the popes job is to watch the world burn considering we have jarheads testing bombs on fault lines next to a nuke plant creating earthquakes that affect Yellowstone.

And you don’t know if your own bullets are going to go through those walls and hit kids. And if that does happen, it’s your fault. And if you wait for swat it’s your fault. @@ssesssusman9417 you believe in the thing, that caused this to happen in the first place? Right, so having that means that, what? By the time you would get to these school shooters who do these horrendous acts, they’ve already caused mass casualties, mass distraction and pain.. & by the time you get there with your gun, they’ve either killed them self already, or you have this situation where they won’t let you into the school. So what are you gonna do? Start shooting at anyone who’s in your way, and then when you get to your child safely, you can’t see them for the next 40 years because you killed two officers? How does any of your “so glad we have the 2nd amendment” even make sense?
Here in the UK we haven’t had a mass school shooting since 1996. When we lost 16 children & 15 injured. And from that day on we’ve NEVER AGAIN had a mass school shooting. We haven’t lost ANY children. None. Zero.
Not only that but we don’t have as many burglaries as you do, because most of your criminals have guns so they are fearless to enter a house.
Not only that but we don’t have police officers killing innocent people because they “thought” they had a gun in
their hand. We don’t have shoot outs where innocent people are involved. We don’t have anywhere near as many muggings because criminals are fearful here & in Europe.
If they are caught in your house(and like I said it barely happens in comparison to your country) they run for their lives. They bolt. Gone. They don’t stand there in your face with a gun, threatening your life. We don’t have people holding up stores with guns and stealing everything.
But you are “so glad” to have a gun. Yet see that disgusting person who committed this crime, it was MUCH easier for him to kill as many people as he did because of the nature of the weapon. Because guns are easily loaded and it’s one pull of a trigger to kill someone. In seconds. Which means these mass school shooters can kill 10’s of children within minutes.
That kind of weapon should NOT be readily available to the public. It’s fuxking disgusting that people are PROUD to have that law, the same law that prohibited this person to do that in the first place.
Stop sending your children to school & having them do drills to practice what they would do if a shooter came in…. Stop sending them to school SCARED for goodness sake!!!! It’s disgusting.
They should be banned. You constantly think “oh this will protect us though, it would protect me and my family”. How is it doing ANY protection? Huh? How is THAT protecting anyone?
In Europe, Spain, Italy, Greece, France, the U.K…. We don’t have to worry & not only that but the amount of crime involving a gun is absolutely insane.
You think having it makes it better. Yet your crime would massively decrease & there would be VASTLY less deaths with banning guns. ESPECIALLY with children in schools. Yes people will get a hold of them to begin with, but when those go, that’s it. Done. Just like what happened all over Europe.
You guys are backwards it’s literally ridiculous.

If implemented in the real world that would get civilians killed and get any Department who let it happen without first deputizing the civilians, then arming and training them, to get sued into the ground on several counts. The problem was the Uvalde PD failing to do their jobs, which was a shocking anomaly in regards to an active shooter incident, and the way most PD's are trained and routinely respond to such incidents. They should have immediately handed the job off to another Agency if they couldn't handle it. They did the opposite. And it was the leadership of another Agency that eventually took charge and ended it--but by then the damage was done. That was bad enough, but allowing screaming parents to run past them into the danger zone--not the solution. I'm just surprised people on the pro-police side come up with that nonsense as well, but I'm fairly certain that if after the incident ended they were carrying out dead parents who tried to intervene, these very same people would not stand up and declare their support for letting that happen. Such is the life of a Monday Morning Quarterback trying to score emotion based points. So to close, the focus needs to be on the Uvalde PD, those who hired that Chief and then tried to cover for him, and the example that needs to be made of them so this never happens again in an active shooter situation.

the way she says it sounds like she was comfortable with following some conception of a directive rather then doing what her gut instinct told her. I think they trained her to wait for swat or something, however it does seem that running in there with what was going on and disobeying orders if there were any is the correct thing to do. They need to train people common sense. I know of these kinds of things that in some trainings for some stuff they tell you to wait for help and stuff but then if the instructor is worth a damn he (privately) will tell you after a class that if it looks bad (consider the optics and how you are going to be judged for your actions) just to ignore the directives and that you just need to use your gut feeling. So it might be that her training had too much 'cover your ass bullshit' and not enough veterans that tell you to do the right thing and damn the paperwork. It's like hey we are training you not to do a danny glover (predator 2) but im telling you that you need to do a danny glover if it looks bad. I got the feeling she was saying like "i would just have ignored procedure if my kid was in there". But if you got that little common sense you should not be in the services, that means you have a excessive fear of bureaucracy. I am not a LEO affiliate. You need two people to pep themselves up to do whatever it takes, when you are alone its going to depend on your character. ALot of people function fine in groups but basically they should not be doing a job alone. They need to do high stress psychological response evaluation (some people just don't have what it takes to do the job as expected because of psychological response tendancies). I have a feeling whatever she did by some view of the 'rules' is correct, on paper, but when implemented in real life it ends up being glaringly incompetent and cowardly. These kind of situations require a 'gung ho' attitude.

In other words, she may have just been saying that she would've disobeyed orders if it were one of her own children inside. Now they purposely hire mentally challenged (they won't hire anyone with an IQ over 100 affirmed by the SCOTUS) bullies who are cowards that can't fight worth squat, which is who they want- to train them to cowardly shoot unarmed people and run away when faced with an actual armed suspect. Once upon a time in America the job of law enforcement was to protect. It literally isn't anymore (again in a decision affirmed by the right-wing crime-supporting SCOTUS) as their job now is to rob, rape and kill American citizens, and at that and that alone are they proficient.

They have been throwing each other under the bus for months and still cant answer who was in charge or who was supposed to be in charge on that day. As a retired LEO I am completely and totally embarrassed. After 32 years of service the men and women I worked with were solid people. It was second natural to run into danger no matter what! Our oath is to serve and protect while upholding the laws of our country. Burning houses, burning cars, drowning people, and yes armed encounters. I was with a very large and active major city. And bullets were always flying(still are) I was shot in the early 90’s trying help a person that I thought had simply broken down.
I just watched another video where officers ran out of a house and one jumped out a bathroom window (another embarrassing case). The whole part of being a Police Officer is putting your life BEFORE others..perfect strangers! I lost good friends that did that very thing!

    • @xmarine73
      @xmarine73 Год назад +20

There in lies the problem! You lost friends who did that very thing... and todays batch of officers are in it for the paycheck, the prestige, and the power. That paycheck is THE problem with the selection process. We're getting people who don't have the heart to be officers but who want that $80k+ per year with great benefits, a good retirement package, and a job that is almost impossible to lose because it protects it's own by any means necessary.
Police Unions, overzealous prosecutors siding with shady cops, qualified immunity, and an us vs them mentality have created an atmosphere, within police departments, that the officers there aren't there to serve the community any long but rather to earn money for the city and preserve their own lives while doing so. The training has changed dramatically since the 90s and not for the better. I'm all for everyone going home safe (officers included) but that means EVERYONE that possibly can. Instead, in Uvalde, they waited over an hour to make it easier for themselves while allowing the victims (many of whom could have been saved) to expire.
Shameful, disgraceful, and incompetent... that should be on the badges and patches of most departments around the country today.
