    thanks for the write up, really helped me out. One thing you failed to mention, If you still have a front sway bar, it will need to be disconnected and rotate out of the way for the inner tie rod tool to fit.

    Very informative video. What prompted you to replace it? Noise or unnatural movement? I'm trying to diagnose a noise im hearing in front suspension and wondered what were the symptoms/reasons for you replacing both inner and outer tie rods?

      Steering just started to feel funny, and I had a noise, though I can't remember the exact sound. When I jacked the vehicle up and moved the tire, hands in 9&3 position, it would move more than it should. Then after disconnecting the outer from the spindle the amount of play was a giveaway.

    It’ll be helpful if you say the size of the tools needed. But the the size for the inner tie rod adapter is a 40mm

      It looks like they've changed their kits around. My order number shows up as the Lisle 58100 kit.

      I put a link to it in the description. It's this long pole like thing. You can use two adjustable wrenches as well, I'm just paranoid and wanted to make sure I got proper torque down.

    What size is the inner tie rod nut. Seeing 29mm and 30mm for the specialty crowfoot insert. Which is it?

      Those are too small. I bought a tie rod tool for it, but I believe I used the 42mm size.

    I know it varies from use, but at what mileage did you replace yours? I am currently at 29K. So far steering is good. Just need to have an idea of when I should expect the OEM ones fail.

      Tie rods were roughly 65K. It's important to note I off-road and they go through a lot of hell. If you have a stock vehicle they should be good for a long time. Mine were still good, but they did have more play than I liked. Now they are spares for on the trail.

      There are multiple size adapters for the tool. If you click the link in my profile it'll take you to Amazon for the tool I used. I believe it ended up using the 42mm, but I can't remember.

    How are the Moog tie rod ends holding up? Any grease leaking out yet? How many miles on them so far?

      Been doing just fine. I admittedly haven't abused them too much, but so far I have no complaints. No leaks so far.

      Do they seem less fragile than OEM rubber boots? ? Mine started leaking after lift at about 8k miles….

      @@viewoptic OEM is honestly the best option. I almost wonder if yours already had an issue. Lifts normally won't cause a big problem unless you have a lot of miles on the outers. Only reason I had replaced mine was because I tore one on the trail and I like to replace important parts together. Moog was cheaper and they allowed regreasing.

      True... It does need to be torqued to spec or it will wear out faster if it's too loose or too tight... Who gives tho... He said 57 but I think it's 74 pounds 🤣

    Keep up the videos. They’re great!
    My driver side outter tie Rod had leaking grease, but no tear in the boot from what I have inspected. No play in the tie rod and steering feels fine. Wondered if you think I should replace the tie rod since it lossed some grease. I’m pretty sure the joint is good though.
    Wondering why only driver side experienced a leaking boot without boot damage.

      Do you have a lift? Or had a lift done? It's possible you or whoever installed it may have nicked it while taking off the outer tie rod, especially if you needed to hit it with a hammer. If not, could just be normal wear and tear, something hit it at some point. Many options.
      I haven't seen anyone replace the boots on these, so I imagine it either can't be done or nobody provides parts for it. Being they run about $50 online from Toyota parts websites, I would do that. Don't buy at Toyota as they'll charge you much more. I use Madera Parts for my Toyota stuff. They usually have the best prices.
