- Is Patagonia any good? I've been on the hunt for a lightweight, insulated jacket for winter. Patagonia clothes are high quality and durable, but do they fit well on the smaller frame? Let's find out!

FYI, I'm about 5'6" with shoes on and about 120 lbs (at time of recording). My chest is about 34" around.
Why are you so small
@@gregkis if I was any bigger it wouldn't' be fair to other men.
@@BrockMcGoff haha nice
My bf who's about the same height and weight buys children size XL or L sometimes. His chest is 36". Do you find it very difficult to find good blazers for the chest size?
I'm the same height but closer to 110. Finding 28" waist size for pants is a nightmare 😫
I love Patagonia. They're such a great company. Quality clothes, great service, a cool history, and very charitable. Unfortunately, I can't afford it
save up buy it used on eBay, that's what broke people like me do
Check out their Worn Wear website.
Same :/
I just browse craigslist. Today I picked up a new jacket still with tags on for 100$ sometimes they go even cheaper
I’m watching this video because I just finished buying a jacket some joggers and two shirts most of my clothes is form this brand I really believe in what they try to do
It looked like all of the XXS stuff fit you really well, especially that gray zip up. I only have the Isthmus Parka from Patagonia, but I freaking love it.
Thank you Brock, you have added another brand to my list where to buy clothing, as a short young man I have not many options from where to choose. Thanks again.
The search for good clothes that fit guys our size well is a life long pursuit. This was helpful especially since you do have to appreciate a brand that goes XXS with clothes that are current and classic. The jackets are good for a desert winter climate. Good job.
A little late to the comments here, but just started watching your stuff. I have tons of Patagonia products and can’t say enough about how great they are. Best part is if you ever get sick of something, they accept trade-ins for store credit at any time! My favorite Patagonia items are the Nano Puff Jacket, the T-shirts, and the winter base layers. I don’t know what it is about their T-shirts, but the cut is just perfect for me. And when one of mine randomly lost color in the wash, I brought it back to Patagonia, and they gave me a brand new one. Customer service and quality can’t be beat!
exactly what i was looking for. im glad i found this channel
The xxs seems to fit you best with right length & fits better than xs 👍 I had no idea they even make those sizes. Thxs Brock!
I need some jackets like this. I'm 5'5" so I'll feel your pain when it comes to sizes. Thank you for this video!!
Nice video, couldn't find much helpful info on sizing till this video. Now I feel comfortable sizing down to XS when usually I wear S in all brands
Temperature will begin to drop soon. This video is very helpful. You're the best brock!
I used to work for an authorized Patagonia dealership and after learning about the brand and talking to customers about it, I learned that most of Patagonia's line tends to run on the bigger/ bulkier side. I bought the Stretch Nano Storm and now having worn it for a while now I wish I had gone down a size, XS instead of S. The Nano Air is a good choice for guys who run hot easily because wind blows right through it, the trade off is it has very little water resistance though. It's hard to find a jacket that's light but also waterproof enough to keep you dry when it rains. Arc'teryx makes jackets that fit shorter guys really well and are slimmer than Pataognia. You should do an Arc'teryx video then compare the two brands, weighing the pros and cons of each.
The nano jacket was pretty dope! I like this type of series! Keep it up
I've got the third coat you tried on the "Cobblestone" colored one. It was a bit pricey at the time I believe $200+ but WELL worth it. Feels and works great.
Love this channel. Im short as hell 5'3 and was just looking at Patagonia jackets. I usually just shop in the boys section. Great video.
I really enjoy all the videos you've been putting out lately, I especially like these try on and outfit idea videos, they're incredibly useful and have helped me in more ways than you one! Best men's lifestyle channel on RUclips for sure
+GraVeu thanks, much appreciated!
I like the last one. I think I'm going try some. Thanks for the video.
The only thing is licensed retail stores like REI don’t ever carry patty in XS OR XXS, and even small is somewhat rare. The smaller sizes have to be direct from them in their own stores or online from Reno
Your video was so helpful thank you so much bro!
I have several Patagonia pieces, mostly I began my addiction with their socks and underwear. Then I splurged on a couple of tee's and a few sweaters. Next I moved on to warmer weather items..... I fell in love with swim wear and light weight outerwear. I'm about 5.6 and a half & about 165lbs and I enjoy a medium.... I discovered ORVIS in Pasadena & through ORVIS I discovered BARBOUR and lusted for their water proof wind proof sweater. My sweater is a navy pullover crewneck with a windproof style lining & I paid about $200. It's one of my favorite items for travel
Liked them all, except the first was a little short. Loved the nano air hybrid jacket. And you should keep them all! I might get something myself.
You should do a short guy tie video, where you go over what brands of ties, what specific ties from some brands, sizes, thickness, lengths, and knots are best for short guys !
Patagonia Nano Puff in Small, I'm 5'6" 160. Perfect fit
These try on videos are great ! The 2nd and 3rd piece I️ think are keepers for you
EVERLANE! definitely your type of style so go for it
I think the quilted bomber was the best, and bomber jackets tend to have larger sleeves so that's given.
Yeah it actually looks pretty cool.
LOVE Patagonia Brock 11.5/10 video keep doing what youre doing!!!!!!!
Big fan of Patagonia’s stuff, if you’re looking for a brand similar to them that tailors to a slimmer body style, it may be worth checking out Arcteryx, Black Diamond, or Mummut. All are designed with what I call the “European” body style in mind (usually thinner).
I'm really similar height and weight. Just picked up the Patagonia Quilted Bomber in XS and the size was perfect too.
I like the second item and the last item a lot.
All of it looks great. Patagonia is timeless like Levi's and a white tee.
The better sweaters are amazing! Love those.
Just picked one up new without tags on ebay for $30
For being xxs it sure has long sleeves.. still nice of them to even consider making it!
I really liked all of em, minus the Henley. If I had to choose my favorite though, it'd either be the bomber or thumb-slot one. One thing I have the most difficult time with in clothing are the sleeves. I'm 6'2" with lengthy arms and it's really hard to find things that fit them. I think I'll give Patagonia a try, though! Very eco-friendly brand too, which is a plus for me. :)
keep the Neo Jacket and the gray sweater. I used to have problems with the arms fit, but I started to go to the gym and now almost everything fits a lot better.
Grey jacket looks good on u
the patagonia looks really nice on you
LOVE Patagonia, I'd recommend you try a down sweater
Nice one Brock. These videos save my wallet a lot.
I’d keep the gray jacket
You definitely gotta do another one of these with their newer stuff.
Could you do one on UNIQLO clothing next? Maybe try on some coats for the Fall/Winter from them?
+Kha big Uniqlo haul coming this week!
Uniqlo is the best for short men but I still feel like they run a little large
Jello Mosquera Completely agree with you. I feel like it depends on the article of clothing though. The sleeves and length on their button downs are too long for me but I have one of their Blocktech jackets that is the perfect length and decent sleeve lengths (with some stacking).
I'm curious to know about their coats and jeans especially though.
I liked #2 the Navy jacket and #5 the long sleeve t.
Keep those and return the others.
So weird, but I was just thinking about Patagonia brand today how it would be nice if you did a video... and here you go... but frankly... I'm finding it hard to like any of the items... I think you can definitely find better items for a lesser price.
What did you end up keeping? The jacket with thumb holes looks great.
Great series, I am looking for a great casual outdoor slim fit jacket. I’d be interested in seeing your thoughts on other athleisure outdoor gear from Arc’teryx (atom lt jacket) , Hill City (ultra light hooded jacket), or north face (ventrix)
I did just want to comment on the Nano air hybrid jacket. It's an amazing piece, but please keep in mind that it's a performance piece, this thing is not meant to be super warm, instead you should think about being comfortably cool.
Designed to be worn under HIGH intensity, it's not going to be as warm because of the mesh back. The thumb slots come i hand if you wear gloves and want to prevent the sleeve from rising up.
If you're looking for something warm, light, and stylish, look at the Nano jacket. You could also just try the regular Nano Air Jacket. 😁
They all look fine...but one should dress for the occasion, it looks the best when your personality, lifestyle and clothes are aligned or at least they're running the same theme.
The bomber looked good. It's supposed to be short in the waist, definitely a keeper. Hopefully you returned everything else...
I'm imprssed! I really didn't think they would be a big brand out there that would cater for smaller body men like us!
If you could, i LOVE Express items. The Extra Slim fit XS sizes fit the best on me off the rack! Do a review on Express would you kindly?
Sleeves are intended to be long on many of their mid layer jackets like the Nano Air. They are meant for climbing not just stylish mall walking.
For a warmer version try the regular Nano Air and get the hood.
Great outfit, all sizes get well, perfec Match!!
Have you tried Topman xs clothes? They also sometimes have xxs. I'm 5"5 and 122 pounds and their xs fits me great. They also never put dumb looking logos on their clothes.
Love the first one, might cop that when I have the money.
I like the hybrid jacket and the long sleeve T, with the Henley being bigger would you layer it over a button down shirt/dress shirt. I'd love to see a video reviewing just Henleys.
I need to do a henley round up - very tough to find good ones that fit smaller guys.
Hey Brock I've been following you and you blog for a couple years now. I'm 5 foot 5 inch and 150 lbs. Even though I don't even feel that muscular it has become even harder to find clothes that fit. Sometimes XS and S jackets/shirts often fit me length wise but in the chest and shoulders they won't fit, but almost all size medium tops look silly on me. Even more of a problem: I can occasionally find pants that fit lengthwise/at the waist but my thighs have become too thicc to even fit in pants. Finding tops is nowhere near as bad for me as finding pants. I have never liked how loose fitting jeans look but now I can barely fit into slim jeans. Specifically, the way that loose jeans hang over my tiny feet makes them look even smaller than they are. Do you have any tips for short guys/broke boyz that are not so slim?
P.S. keep up the good work
All looked pretty good but nothing outstanding. I absolutely love these try on videos! - If you're looking for an interesting brand and one that might not be as well known in the US, you could give Jack London a try, from my homeland of Australia! I've had pretty good experiences with them from the perspective of a smaller guy. Keep up the great videos!
My man! With the cold just hitting NY I was looking into buying a new jacket. Just in time since I was thinking about this brand
Nice!
I have a long sleeve men size small shirt. It’s blue with the Patagonia logo in the back. It was my little brothers. But my mom accidentally put it in the dryer and the sleeves became to short on my brother so instead of selling the shirt my mom gave to me. I have never owned anything by this brand before but always wanted to but wasn’t willing to spend the money on it.
Hi Brock I really love their jackets... The long sleeve T and Henley I'm not liking the fit... It can be much better
Are you looking for a light jacket? Or a midlayer?
It would help if you could describe what the jacket was meant to do per the company's directions. Most of these were mid layers, designed to probably "hug" your body, if you will, to go under jackets. Looking for a real light, real warm jacket? Might wanna look into hybrid down jackets that can withstand high winds and rain. But it can get pricy, so many prefer to just layer.
I love Patagonia always, fits me best and really feels great. Very well made and excellent service. I own nothing but Patagonia because I trust their clothing especially when going outdoors.
I’m 5’4 and I usually get men’s small and those fit good but now I don’t know what size to get for the Patagonia hoodie I’m getting
I'm conflicted about the Patagonia logos on the chest. What do you think of those?
To the person in this video. How tall are you and what is your weight? Im a 5'3 Male 115 pounds and just ordered the patagonia Re-tool snap in XXS. Usually wear boys XL or Mens XS. Think it will be fine?
Honestly never heard of this brand but that Patagonia Better Sweater is sweet. Think I'm gonna order 2 of those for when I come back home. The quilted bomber jacket is nice too but the color is throwing me off.
It's good I just bought the grey tech jacket
perhaps you can try japanese brand montbell - they supposedly do great outdoor wear for smaller builds, check out their asian fit items. i'm also curious about how items from arcteryx, and mission workshop fit, if you intend to do more active/outdoor/tech wear videos!
XXS? Damn that’s small. The Nano jkt looked really nice on you, i May just try one of those. Thanks
you are really small :o) I have the Patagonia Nano Air Light Hybrid jacket blue like the one you tried in XL, and the vest. I love em
I'm 5'0 and I wear a xs shirts I love them try the brand esntls you'll love the bamboo t shirts
I’m thinking of getting the Patagonia Men's Diamond Quilt Bomber jacket in medium. Not sure how’d fit. I’m 5’7 165. What do you recommend ?
when you do patagonia, check out icebreaker, fjallraven and Arc'teryx
Just want to say I really like these kinds of videos; the content is really useful.
The XXS bomber (first) and long sleeve t-shirt (last) fit the best for the type of garent they were and how they're meant to be worn, but the style and look are not my type. The second jacket wasn't to shabby, only problem I have with it is that the length was a bit long, and when you're dealing with zipper you can't tailor that part either.
Other brands I would like to see: Topman XXS, Nudie (denim jacket type Billy), Levis, Uniqlo XXS, Taylor Stitch, Bonobos
Two jackets, sweater and the t-shirt looks really good on you, except the henley, it's a little big.
Hi, how would you recommend the ll bean Hybrid Fleece Full-Zip? and would it compare to the Patagonia one? BTW, the first and last one fits you well. The others, nah!
More try on videos would be appreciated. You should definitely try American Giant.
New subscriber, love your videos!
Quick question:
have you ever tried shopping in the women's section? (Slim fitting sleek silhouettes and modern bold look would give you that look that you may like)
If not, any reason why?
Keep making these fitting vids!
+Multimedia Productions I have with limited results. One of my favorite pairs of sweatpants is from Uniqlo women’s. Only problem is the pockets are tiny. Apparently women don’t carry anything 🤔
brock ur channel is very good , but i have few questions .
I have tough time finding t shirts. I'm 5' 2" and everything seems to run a little long. I also have a big upper body so xs dont fit well on me. any suggestions on a brand to go with ?
Correct me if I'm wrong I think Lacoste makes size xxs. Have you checked them out?
I'd love it if you could give some european brands a try. Naketano, Superdry or Hugo Boss just to name a few that I I would like to see!
Mack Weldon sweats
Try the Arcteryx Atom LT Hoodie
keep the 2nd jacket and the 3rd sweater, the grey one and the last long sleeve t-shirt.
Don't forget Brock, that Patagonia also has an "Asian sizing" that's different (in cut and obviously size) than their American sizing.
I’ve thought about trying to order from Asian versions of some of these brands. Seems like shipping and returns would be tough, though.
love patagonia. one of few outdoors inspired brands that manufactures apparel that's made for skinny americans, a minority.
Tf you talking about most Americans are slim.
I like the look of the Hybird jacket but I'm not sure about the thumb slot
I feel the same way about it...
Thumb slots are cool... Just unique and I remember when I had a coat with those ''built in gloves''.... It's so cool I miss it. But sure, they aint giving you ''stylish clean simple traditional'' points.
I found the thumb sleeve to be quite useful when you're climbing or reaching. Its a added benefit to maintain the heat.
keep the grey and white Henley and the nano air
the first was probably the best, but no home runs out of the bunch..
Agreed. And it's only worth keeping the home runs!
no dude the first was the worst of all
Yea, I thought the first was the terrible too. I actually liked how the last long sleeve looked. That looked great.
So do you like these items for their style alone compared to J Crew/Banana Republic/etc which probably make more stylish clothing (henleys, luxe fabric, slim fits) for everyday wear, or does Patagonia fit a specific style niche in your wardrobe you don't currently have? Sounds like you were looking for a lightweight, common-wear jacket but I'm just wondering why given that a J crew quilted jacket or field jacket with a layer under may be more stylish / versatile. Just curious why you chose Patagonia!
I think given the price, most of Patagonia's gear is driven toward the active camper/trail-runner (from a functional perspective) and all activewear companies' (TNF, Marmot, Patagonia) causal wear tends to be inferior given that its not a focus for these companies.
I have a few lightweight jackets - field jackets, leather jackets, a nylon windbreaker. But I want something with more insulation, very lightweight, very high quality and super durable. In my experience, brands like BR don't really make stuff like that. Could definitely just layer up under a field jacket, but I'm looking for something more technical/sporty.
Will try Marmot soon. I tried Arc-teryx (or however you spell it), but the sleeves were way too long.
Stay stylish
How tall are you and how much do you weigh?
I'm only 5'1" 130 lbs, but their website recommended the XS (not XXS) in the performance better sweater
Dude, Arcteryx for that win. Atom LT is THE best jacket.
+Christopher Lippa I tried that one. It was awesome, but the sleeves were a bit long (and probably really tough to alter).
Have you ever tried American eagle clothing ? I️ know it’s a more youthful brand , but I️ find their garments fit me well (I’m 5ft 9in slender build) . They have XS clothes and their shirt lengths untucked are perfect for someone like me. Also, they have THE MOST comfortable slim fit jeans I’ve ever owned.
I haven't tried their outerwear in a long time...will check it out.
The Modest Man I'm 5'6" 125lbs and American Eagle jeans are the best fit I can find, and their XS sizing in shirts/outerwear are often a good fit as well. Definitely worth a look.
American Eagle pants 10/10 i recommend. I talk to people in my local area & they say the same.
Pico how are you 5’9 wearing a xs shirt
ethan It's a crop top
I love pat and they used to have a prodeal with us when I worked for the government.
Dang Brock you have really bulked up sense your appearance hear, Great Job!
*since *here
@@gregkis Google's fault.
i like the shirt its a shame they don't sell it anymore
Absolutely love their clothing and the mission they stand behind, but unfortunately their sizing can be a bit of a pain to find the perfect size.
You shuould keep the Nano Air Hybrid Jacket (XS), looks much better on you than the first one which is too small for you and looks as if you were a teenager. Please do Mango or Gap ;)
