A few years ago my husband and I were living in apartment complex. I had to call maintenance while hubby was at work. The maintenance man came and started to explain the issue, then stopped himself and said "Are you sure you don't want me to come back and talk to your husband about it when he gets home?" .....I responded (noticing his wedding ring) "would you like me to call your wife instead and tell her how you treat women while you are at work?" 🤷

Yep you have to be street smart nowadays. Make sure your phone is fully charged, be alert and make sure you are cautious at all times especially when you are alone. Don't stop to talk to anyone either, just go home and get there asap

Jeannie's example isn't misogynistic; it's a cultural respect issue. In certain cultures, you just can't come in and address someone else's woman or female relatives like the homies. My experience of misogynistic behavior is when a man speaks and thinks for you and he doesn't even know you. Example: Boardroom meetings. "What she's saying is... or I think she means... or not this word, that...". No, to-may-to/to-ma-to the same damn thing. It's an all boys club, your views don't matter, you're the token feeling. Certain male doctors are dismissive, symptoms in your head, and they know what's best. 🙄 They met the wrong person. I also despise having an idea or solution and be dismissed; only for a guy to take the same idea and be praised.

The annoying men habits is really a "selfish" habit and applies to women too. People that only think about themselves is not thinking about any body. They leave little swigs so they're not accountable for utilizing it all or responsible for replacing. Imagine wanting a PB&J sandwich and someone leaves a half teaspoon of preserves from a 32 oz. jar; and you didn't get any yet. You call them on their selfishness, and they replace it with jelly? I wish they would talk about different tactics traffickers use to trap or kidnap people. They are really smart with the methods they use and the victim may not know they are about to be trapped. For example when they leave random objects on your car, or when they approach you in the store, or get you to smell something that makes you blackout.

I'm assuming social media made things easier. Hook ups/dating apps; girls seeking validation, love, insta-models. Girls being duped by "alleged" boyfriends. Other girlfriends putting them on willingly or unknowingly. Sometimes a young lady could be doing all the right things and snatched from the street on the way to school. And it's not just girls, our boys too. Adults need to go back to the "It takes a village" days... and mind other peoples business by looking after each other as a community. As women we need to set better representation to lessen the objectification.
@Nomad Seducing young girls & kidnapping are completelydifferent from trafficking. There are different types of human trafficking. Unlike kidnapping where the victim stays in one location, trafficking involves the victim moving from location to location. Its not always sexual. If you look up videos on RUclips there several people sharing their story on how they were trafficked or almost got trafficked. And most of it involves the person approaching them in the store or mall and trying to start a conversation with them. I feel like they use this method the most because it easier for them to trap people this way.

My husband and I recently moved in our new neighborhood and one of the neighbors brought cookies. My husband answered the door. So I decided to return the favor and thanks for the welcome by making a pie. My husband and I walked to her house and she wad only mostly looking at my husband and when we introduced ourselves she looked and smiled at me briefly then shook his hand and started looking at him. Idk if it's because he handed her the pie or she just got me fcked up
And another time where some of his old friends or family would speak to him when they saw us in public but not me. Just know that's not gonna happen again
Definitely had that kind of experience in the hardware store. I went with my mom and we bought trim. When we asked for it to be cut, the staff member tried so many times to discourage us from doing it and there was a couple in front of us. He never said anything to them and just did what they asked of him but with us he was very dismissive and kind of annoyed. After a few questions I said I know all of this and I don’t care if it cost me more. I want it cut so please do so. That is when he finally did it. The women in front of us gave us a sympathetic look. She probably knew how it felt. So annoying.

On my behalf I don’t like to speak to the men that my man is talking to, I’m very selective with who I speak to. I will say hello back/ acknowledge them respectfully but I will stay in my own space rather if they’re tying to speak to me or not. That’s how I am.

It depends. I can't say it's misogynistic because 2 salesmen were attentive to your uncle. It's really what was said to believe it is. The single salesman stated buy it if you like it. He didn't override your thoughts, think, sway or state what's best for you or lead you to the mini vans. Sometimes a 1st visit isn't taken seriously - browsing. The 2nd visit may be attentive to seal deals. Depending on the date visiting dealership/quota, you may have several hungry salesmen.
