Probably the best conversion i've seen...it's a shame to call it "homemade" 'cause you did a pro work!! Functional and rational!! Well done man!! Enjoy It!!
Hi James, great video mate! Just the right amount of visual information and some truly great ideas (like the ceiling net - love it!). I know I'll be coming back to your channel to watch other videos. Thank you!

Putting the Aluminium insulation down first actually has the opposite effect. Any heat just conducts straight though. It’s meant to be used on the inside as a vapour barrier, not touching the metal outside.
It all depends on how you use your van, I don't sleep in mine more than 30 nights a year so condensation has been a problem with the methods used. Check out my my recent van build review video, where I do an insulation check: ruclips.net/video/OdbZVA8h0UE/видео.html
Your videos have been SUPER useful for me, as I'm in the process of converting our little NV200 too! We're about to do our first trip to test it out (even though it's barely half way finished). Fingers crossed my bed build doesn't fall apart mid trip! :)
Glad you're enjoying the videos, hope your trip away goes well. We did our first trips away long before the van was finished, just couldn't wait to use it!
Wow!!! This is the first compressive conversion video I saw where someone paid attention to insulating the Van. Coordinating the interior with the carpet, even the door pockets speaks volumes for attention to details. The trifold bed is a welcome feature. Could you please include the details or better yet provide link to actual video?
I just got an NV200 myself. Oh boy, do I have a project on my hands.... and I'm nowhere near the craftsman you are. Might just hire a professional, lol.
FANTASTICLY Documented. MANY THANKS. >>quick question>> Im about to embark on a converstion myself When securing the plywood to the ceiling are you drilling into the reflectix? or straight up into the roof? doesnt seem like enough thickness to hold up such large sheets of plywood, but drilling into the roof would provide leakage problems, hence my question :- if you could clear up my confusion i would GREATLY appreciate it. MANY THANKS again for such a well thought out video
Thanks, glad you like the build! I've got a full video on the roof set-up, which show how I attached it, here: ruclips.net/video/3SnHXMrDhAQ/видео.html
I always wanted to live tiny house or RV. But I can drive .N.E more I'm blind a bit ) so I'm stuck in a district I hate,im still looking for a unit of my dreams...yeh right time to go for a walk in my concrete jungle full of toxic air, im so jealous but happy 4 u.
AWESOME! As I prepare to build out a vehicle, your channel has been a go to for ideas, vision, and instruction, as your creativity, attention to detail, and willingness to share are absolutely incredible and very much appreciated. Thank you!
Amazing build! The floor work, insulation and carpeting is professional. From the video, it looks like that how the NV200 should come out of the factory. 🙌🏾👏🏾🙌🏾👏🏾🙌🏾👏🏾
The quality of the finish and attention to detail is exceptional. Looks less DIY and more like a high end professional build from a company. I am wondering if that passive minimal window ventilation is sufficient to draw out stuffy air and minimize condensation. I am stuck about the decision whether to make a hole for a fan or not.
you have great skills very neat and tidy, overall design not my cup of tea but them skillz? you have them. Props to you and hope you enjoy your van for great adventures.
Hi James! You conversion is wonderful. A nice and precise work. Love it. I will soon receive a berlingo van XL and this inspire me a lot. In How many times did you finish this conversion? Thanks. Nicolas
Awesome 👍🏻👍🏻 Carpet here carpet there carpet everywhere😂😂 And that stoage division under the bed with board 🔥🔥 One question though how r u gonna cook??
That film must have taken a lot of editing effort, is rhere a way i can send you a picture of my back unit and spice rack it would look good on yours. Also i have been meaning to ask from the start what is the reasoning behind putting the bed on the primary door side, is it surf board related ? I used my all in one diesel heater most days last week too. Ed
Thanks Ed! Drop me an email, I'd love to see your set up: lensofjames@gmail.com. Yeah I put the bed on that side so the surfboard could still fit down the centre
There is a slight insulation factor (as with wood) and noise too, but overall it's a lot lighter to carry around than wood cladding and I like really like the look of it.
Just wondering, how different is it now sound/noise wise? I am mostly considering doing this sort of conversion because I hate the tinny sound inside my family van
You did a great job on your build. I am also undertaking a conversion project and really liked the carpet on the walls. How is it that you attached the carpet to the walls so well?
Hi Clare, I got the foil bubblewrap insulation from Toolstation and the carpet/adhesive from www.vanliningcarpet.co.uk/. I've got an insulation video here: ruclips.net/video/bF8xk3fDJb8/видео.html and a carpeting video here: ruclips.net/video/0DuEBg1Gsro/видео.html with links to the products in the descriptions 🙂
Have you not put accoustic sound deadening in with the insulation on the roof? Nothing really stops rain noise but the accoustic panels stop the booming/echo you get.
@@JammyDodger45 lazy, put no insulation in at all, cant be bothered to take roof covering off, just after something to put on outside of roof when parked up, was thinking of getting that artificial grass and gluing that on, it may look silly, but should cut down the booming of rain drops :)

Hi, I haven't got a vent - haven't found the need for one based on how much I sleep int he van, but I've got a video coming out soon which gives more detail on my decision. Cheers, James

Agreed... how big is bed?!
Hey mate, I loved watching your van build videos! I hope that you keep making videos no matter what you move on to.
You're a genius, well done!
So glad I stumbled on this! I purchased a NV200 recently and plan to follow suit (albeit with personal mods) keep on keepin on Lens of James!
Thanks, good luck with the build!

What an amazing guy. You are a genius to do all of this!!! Wish you could afford to hire you!!!!👍😁
Nice job ! But...I won't spend my life in a van...too many volatile organic compounds to breathe. Floor, carpets, plastic parts, glue.....

Pretty sure you have the skills to be a carpenter by trade! Some lovely neat and well thought through work here!
Your “insulating” will make this thing rust out real quick. It needs to be able to breathe. All you did was trap moisture.
Great work mate 👏🏼 can I ask what that drill bit is called that you used to drill the curtain pole hole please?. Thanks 😊
Great job 👍👍can you tell me what the material is called to cover the interior please?
That bed! Genius! Many other nice features, too.
The best and simplest 👍🏼 that’s How i want it too👍🏼
Also.... you made the carpeting look very easy... have you done this before or was this just a learning curve??
Hi, I think the timelapse makes it looks much easier than it was...it took me one day to do each side of the van!

what happens when you need to fix the door latch or wiring inside the door??? because it will break at some stage

Joli !
How much would you charge to build a van out?
I'm not too sure, this was a labour of love so although I spent £1500 on materials I couldn't put a price to the hours spent on it
So many ideas I’ve never seen before, fantastic work
a masterpiece!
Great work!

Nice, but I still don't know HOW to do it ☹
