I hate these kinds of video, thst discuss the aftermath of a conflict wanting understanding / empathy but not explaining what the conflict is actually about.
We dont know whats happened. However in the UK its best to keep yourself to yourself. Ive always found group activities in the UK to be odd. People spend more time running others down than working together. Avoid groups in the UK.
It’s human nature, people are worried about being at the bottom of the social pecking order, so they find a target to keep them safe and everyone else focused on that target. If the target gets driven out, it’s soon going to be someone else’s turn, probably one of the people picking on the last victim.
@jackworsley2562 so what actually happens is someone tries to become a leader. They then turn the group against a individual. This is a phenomenon known as group think. It's a sad part of human psychology.
It all started when we got the news that the barn would be demolished in January and Ade asked me not to promote it anymore on my channel. As we were over booked anyway. I knew then that my time was up as I was no longer needed and the space I was taking up was more valuable to Ade than me. So I was expecting something like this to happen. So when Becky’s van got damaged I wasn’t surprised by the way Ade handled the situation and turned things around to make Becky seem reasonable for damaging her own van turning everyone else at the barn against her literally making her feel unsafe and unwelcome so when she stood up for herself making a video on her channel this upset everyone at the Barn made things difficult for me so I decided that I would leave as soon as I could and started to film this video that same day Ade and his so called community ask me to leave given me 5 days notice but made things so difficult I left in 4 days. @@BigVanSmallWorldthe only paperwork you need for a situation like that is insurance provided the vehicle is safe to drive. MOT & Road Tax are needed for normal driving not for emergencies or for moving home.
@@alanhat5252 The only exemption that exists to drive without a current valid MOT and tax, is when going to a pre-booked test, or driving home from a test failure. I'm sure you mean well, but such advice if taken, could well leads to someone else's day in court.

One new subscriber.. one thing I’ve learned from disputes is, you can’t reason with unreasonable.. I’ve learned to be pleasant and extra nice to difficult People because it really annoys them and the can say anything.. no one needs toxic people, and most are like this because you were valuable and they want to justify their actions

Also Mel there are some big storage units the containers near me. They have onsite shower , water fill and toilets ect. 24 hour access as an upgrade with security cameras. In Southampton

When I first heard that you have been forced to leave as your partner didn't feel safe, I feared something terrible had happened. Sorry it has come to this Mel but I subscribe to you to watch you convert your vans regardless of where you are. Walk away with your head high and don't look back. The other barners will be moving on soon anyway when it shuts down so no loss there and you know who your friends are. I've not (had time to) check into this channel for some time, so I'm astonished about the totally different vibe (it was my happy place). Being suddenly homeless /baseless can be quite stressful (been there, sans véhicule)- and all matériel goods become a burden. Hi why don't you get a TENS machine you can get them from a chemist they're not overly expensive and they do help back pain just do not put it on any bony areas like your elbows or head putting it on pulse points also can be very dangerous only suitable for like backs and places like that they are good I use one.

This is no way to treat people one had shared so much and broken bread with. How they treated you and Rebecca in no way diminishes you or takes anything away from you. Thanks for sharing the reality of things. There's always 2 sides to every story but it's nice to see some reality. If you're ever in West Wales can accom You were more than reasonable asking for 30 days. Meeting halfway to give you extra time especially over the bank holiday would have been a nice thing to do.
So, what I take from this video is that the reality of van life is not as most van lifers portray i.e. all the gear you don't cart around with you 24/7 has to be stored somewhere.

The Barn always seemed to be an idyllic place as you portrayed it, so I’m sorry to see that it has lost its shine right when its days were numbered anyway. I commented on Rebecca's channel too. But she's shadow blocked me (so essentially only I can see my comment) whilst I'm aware it didn't fit her narrative. It does seem like there have been childish remarks on both slides. You mentioned a couple of times that the lock isn't locked..maybe someone forgot. Busy working busy getting on with stuff, busy removing stuff....hence why you left the light on. People forget when they are busy. You introduced it as a community some years back and even today you refer to it as a community, yet this is one of Rebecca's talking points (should be run as a business not a community) and all the while she claims she was instrumental in the set up and helping the place thrive, yet doesn't like the way the place was ran . You said you would be civil, yet you wasn't. I'm sure the other bloke (guy in the digger) wasn't civil either. But he's not airing his laundry on a social platform and name calling others via his platform. I've watched both you and Rebecca for years, yourself for a long, long, long time. But this just seems like as someone has already said. Primary school children on both sides Mel. I wish you well and look forward to seeing great work from yourself. I don't mean to offend and that's not my intention, but airing laundry when you have a disagreement isn't the way to go about building a community on social media which is what you have here. I know nothing about the situation or background to this though I wanted to comment on your point about sharing or airing dirty laundry on social media. Typically, what you suggest is a fair comment, though in this scenario, it does seem appropriate. Why? Well, Mel's journey with van life and the period he's been at the barn, has been showing (on social media) how people can be a powerful force when they work together. It would have been an unusual outcome to not equally show how that powerful force can also be reversed when it comes to disagreements. So even without any personal perspectives on what went wrong and how/why, it at least demonstrates the realities of life. If he hadn't shared this episode, it wouldn't be a truthful representation of how he feels and how he sees this through his own experience.and perceptions. So, my point isn't about the scenario but in the context of his channel being about the "life" associated with vans and conversions, it seemed not unusual that he would show this part of his life in the same, albeit proportionately limited, way he had extensively and positively covered his experience there over time.

@@BigVanSmallWorldthe only paperwork you need for a situation like that is insurance provided the vehicle is safe to drive. MOT & Road Tax are needed for normal driving not for emergencies or for moving home.
@@alanhat5252 The only exemption that exists to drive without a current valid MOT and tax, is when going to a pre-booked test, or driving home from a test failure. I'm sure you mean well, but such advice if taken, could well leads to someone else's day in court.

Also Mel there are some big storage units the containers near me. They have onsite shower , water fill and toilets ect. 24 hour access as an upgrade with security cameras. In Southampton

When I first heard that you have been forced to leave as your partner didn't feel safe, I feared something terrible had happened. Sorry it has come to this Mel but I subscribe to you to watch you convert your vans regardless of where you are. Walk away with your head high and don't look back. The other barners will be moving on soon anyway when it shuts down so no loss there and you know who your friends are. You and Beckie have successful channels with your subscriber base who will mostly stay loyal. Keep it up mate and I for one will keep subscribing and enjoying what you do.

I've not (had time to) check into this channel for some time, so I'm astonished about the totally different vibe (it was my happy place). Being suddenly homeless /baseless can be quite stressful (been there, sans véhicule)- and all matériel goods become a burden. Hope everything is resolved with minimal damage, and nothing is posted (by any party - or viewer) that will be regretted down the line. Take care, and here's to brighter beginings

Hi Mel sorry to hear all this , I have been there before and know how you both feel. The feeling you get going back somewhere you don't want to be. It's time like this you realise who your friends and enemies really are . 5 days notice is not enough. I would have jumped out and lampedusa the prick. It's your stuff and he has no right to make your life hard. It'll make you stronger and maybe a small place for you both is a good solution 👌
Hi why don't you get a TENS machine you can get them from a chemist they're not overly expensive and they do help back pain just do not put it on any bony areas like your elbows or head putting it on pulse points also can be very dangerous only suitable for like backs and places like that they are good I use one.

Some "friend(s)" he was(they were)... You and Rebecca had added so much value to that barn. I had begun to like some of those guys even... This is no way to treat people one had shared so much and broken bread with. How they treated you and Rebecca in no way diminishes you or takes anything away from you. Please keep up the good work and 'em videos coming and hold your spirits high. You guys deserve to be treated so much better.

So, what I take from this video is that the reality of van life is not as most van lifers portray i.e. all the gear you don't cart around with you 24/7 has to be stored somewhere.

The Barn always seemed to be an idyllic place as you portrayed it, so I’m sorry to see that it has lost its shine right when its days were numbered anyway. Move on to better things, take the good memories with you, and leave the negativity behind for others to sort out - ultimately they will all have to leave too.
As a iod Brickie I spray my back with deep heat in the morning before I start using my back which helps stop the back problem.

I commented on Rebecca's channel too. But she's shadow blocked me (so essentially only I can see my comment) whilst I'm aware it didn't fit her narrative. It does seem like there have been childish remarks on both slides. You mentioned a couple of times that the lock isn't locked..maybe someone forgot. Busy working busy getting on with stuff, busy removing stuff....hence why you left the light on. People forget when they are busy.
You introduced it as a community some years back and even today you refer to it as a community, yet this is one of Rebecca's talking points (should be run as a business not a community) and all the while she claims she was instrumental in the set up and helping the place thrive, yet doesn't like the way the place was ran . You said you would be civil, yet you wasn't. I'm sure the other bloke (guy in the digger) wasn't civil either. But he's not airing his laundry on a social platform and name calling others via his platform.
I've watched both you and Rebecca for years, yourself for a long, long, long time. But this just seems like as someone has already said. Primary school children on both sides Mel.
I wish you well and look forward to seeing great work from yourself. I don't mean to offend and that's not my intention, but airing laundry when you have a disagreement isn't the way to go about building a community on social media which is what you have here. Very best of luck Mel.
I know nothing about the situation or background to this though I wanted to comment on your point about sharing or airing dirty laundry on social media. Typically, what you suggest is a fair comment, though in this scenario, it does seem appropriate. Why? Well, Mel's journey with van life and the period he's been at the barn, has been showing (on social media) how people can be a powerful force when they work together. It would have been an unusual outcome to not equally show how that powerful force can also be reversed when it comes to disagreements. So even without any personal perspectives on what went wrong and how/why, it at least demonstrates the realities of life. If he hadn't shared this episode, it wouldn't be a truthful representation of how he feels and how he sees this through his own experience.and perceptions. So, my point isn't about the scenario but in the context of his channel being about the "life" associated with vans and conversions, it seemed not unusual that he would show this part of his life in the same, albeit proportionately limited, way he had extensively and positively covered his experience there over time.
