I'm a working dog handler with over a decade of experience. The handler was correct and its annoying listening to non-handlers in the video insist he send the dog.
The handler didnt want the suspect to have enough reaction time to line up a shot at his dog. He wanted to be close enough so that the dog could disrupt both escape AND return fire from the suspect. If he would have released the dog from way back there you're basically just needlessly sacrificing the dog.
To be clear working dogs ARE secondary to human life but that doesn't mean you just toss the dog into the grave without a care.

The fast forward thru the long chase episodes and even the overlayed information and narratives such as the phone call, to move it along at at good clip instead of just dragging it into a chase video five times as long. As an Ohio resident, I am very proud of how the troopers handled this dangerous situation. Their concern was for the safety of innocent people and they desperately tried to end the situation peacefully. They did what they had to do to protect innocent bystanders that were ahead. It's sad that the suspect did not want to comply. One trooper went ahead, crossed the median and blocked traffic so no one would be in harms way. All the troopers involved should be commended for the professional way they handled this situation!!

@11:21 the way the smoke blocks his exit from the car then he appears is ERIE AF. It's like a dam movie scene where the un- faced villain comes into frame for the first time.

I've been stopped by police for speeding but like this murder suspect I had choices. He chose to try to escape police endangering himself, the police and lots of innocent people and it caused the police to shoot him to protect the innocent. I chose to just pull over and cooperate making things easier for all. We all have to be held accountable for our actions.

Not sure who the ranking officer on scene was, but I didn't hear anyone take charge of the scene. I heard cops discussing things, but someone with authority should've been running the show. The cops seemed too hesitant to stop this guy as he walked towards the stopped cars. They took too long to pit him as well. This is a nineteen minute video. If it involved the Arkansas State Police, it would've been a five minute video.

I heard someone asked for the LT to make the “call” on how to end this dire situation.
The LT would have been the highest-ranked than whoever was on the ground - unless even he wasn’t authorized to make such decision due to someone higher-up who would have to be consulted with first. I’m no law enforcement so I’m not sure what kind of protocol these officers had in place for their unit.

With today's environment considering police, they have to make sure they follow department policies and procedures when they use deadly force. The old saying, better to be tried by 12 then carried by 6 has changed to will be convected by the media and 12 or carried by 6. God bless the police officers, they have a no win job today.

@@ER-uy7ctIn my opinion alienation is at fault. You work all day, you dont feel connected to your job... you have no spare money, no free time, you'll never be able to afford your own home... its incredibly hard to find a good partner nowadays, so you dont feel accountable to them, you dont feel accountable to your nation as they're engaging in imperialist wars abroad and are an oligarchy that does not serve you.
its no wonder people end up like this. Especially in a country where violence is so glorified. It doesnt have to be this way... in the USSR there was not even one school shooting. And guns were pretty accessible. China has had like 2 deaths via police since 2019.
If the young men of today get fed up and create an America that is truly for them, these issues will be solved.
