Explaining to folks here why a young dude only got 2 years of probation is probably gonna be a futile exercise, but let me try anyway. Supreme Court says you are allowed to do a "pat-down" if you have reasonable articulable suspicion that an individual may be concealing a firearm or other deadly weapon. However, the officer conducted an inappropriate "search" by entering the homie's pockets... absent a pat-down... this is a violation of the individual's 4th amendment rights. I know this is alot for some of you to take in, but my point is... that is why you see so many of these cases plead out to "next-to-nothing" petty sentences.

So, anyways it would cost the insurance like 5000 to fix it cause i guess all the other damage that happened to the car is now my fault.
The car was worth like 1000, so 5000 to fix. ANYWAYS, i was looking at 35 years to prison.
35 years dude but i ended up getting two years of probation and community service had to pay like 600 cause some other dude apparently came by and just smashed another window and they caught him too.
Lol this was 15 years ago though. I was in college. I worked and didn't have a record.
If you think about it. I didn't really do anything. Like, i didn't harm anyone.
I would assume that resisting arrest and illegally carrying a firearm and acting like that would be worse? I guess that kid didn't cause any property damage so on paper i'm just as bad or worse cause I actually caused damage to someones property? Oh i was forced to take some weird class for anger management cause I must have lied about the reason why I broke that window and they sent my ass to some therapist that charged 100 an hour and i needed 4 sessions. I THINK the state paid for that since i was 18 and no one else in the city needed it so the funding was there but all from breaking a damn window and moving a car. I just wanted to see if i was strong enough to push a damn car and i was. I paid for it.

Like if they are harassing someone for doing something perfectly legal then you could probably avoid getting taken in if they are a reasonable but uneducated cop and you very very specifically quote the section that states it's perfectly legal.
But you could also just let them arrest you then fight it in court hope that works and then hope you can get restitution greater than the cost of fighting it in court (more viable if you yourself are a lawyer) and that it doesn't mess up your record too much having an arrest for a crime you are later exonerated for.

I haven't heard that saying. I was raised with, "the empty can rattles the most", meaning the stupidest person is the loudest. Like really. Get an empty metal can and put a single nail in it. Shake it real good. Pretty loud, isn't it? Put a whole bunch of nails in the same can. Like, try to fill it. Shake it. Barely heard anything, didn't ya?

Digital world. I drive without my wallet 99% of the time. I have been pulled over and not had my wallet. I give officer my name and they have a pic of me on their pc and officer warns if you give a fake name that it will result in a charge. Some jurisdictions will have you submit your DL online or take it up to the courthouse. Insurance is on my phone and in my car.
