I keep telling people that Health Coach Kait is the best place to go for well presented, well researched excellent information and advice. And again, another superb video, as usual. Everyone else with your level of knowledge seem to be much older than you. How do you get so brilliant at your age?
Cod livers are great. Very tasty. And yes, they are mild and nothing like what you would think after eating beef liver. I'd give them a try. Be sure to drink the oil they come in too!
Excellent video. I am allergic to fish and seafood so most of your list is off limits to me. I take an algae based Omega 3 supplement and it works very well. The small fish eat the algae and then they are eaten by bigger fish and the Omega 3 content builds up the food chain in their bodies that way. So I figure going right to the source is not a bad idea If you could do a video about non fish sources I think that would be great. Although I am not one I am sure vegetarians/vegans and people that don't like fish would enjoy it too. I had no idea walnuts were not that good of a source . Thank you.
It was Kait's cat for me. I knew I wasn't tripping when I hear and saw the plant move on the bottom shelf. Saw the paw and everything 🤣🤣🤣 Have fun little 🐈
To increase the satiety of all the fish mentioned, try adding chunks of them to a bone broth with onions and garlic and spices. If pure carnivore, leave out the plant based additions and it still works.
Eggs, salmon, mackerel, and oysters. Which one is my favorite? It depends on my mood, or is it my body's craving at the time? I eat eggs every day along with one of the other three. All of this goes along with some form of beef or animal protein. This stuff must be working because my weight is way down and my energy levels are way up. I feel like these foods have contributed to me feeling 20 years younger than my actual age. I love 'em, and apparently they love me!
Cod liver and cod oil is not known here in the Philippines. And salmons are rarely wild caught. That's why it's soooo hard to stick to clean keto here. Eggs are common and not pasteur raised
I eat eggs and salmon almost every day, and try to get oysters once a week though sometimes my local store is out of them, I also buy littleneck clams for no particular reason other than I just like them. Not a big fan of some of the strong tasting fish on the list but might give the mackerel a try.
nope, nada, allergic to all sea foods and even if I weren't can't stand the taste of any of it. I'll try to add some eggs to my diet but that's the best I can do with regard to your list
You forgot lambs brains has about 700mg per 100 gram serving. And people need to make sure they only eat Atlantic Mackerel / Scottish Mackerel which are the same thing.
Lots of eggs and sardines. Usually together. I love fish so i eat all kinds. I am gonna try some things on your list i haven't had yet. I have been taking krill oil caps from Perfect Keto also. I tried beef liver yesterday for the first time since i was a kid. 💩🤢 Just hold your nose and swallow. Nice video Kait........................... 😎👍👍
Thank you for this list We eat eggs, lamb, salmon and sardines regularly. I want to try mackerel but have been afraid to because I imagine it’s very fishy but since it’s at the top of the list I think it will be worth it. 😊
I eat 2 cans of sardines on non fasting days. King Oscar brand in Zesty Tomato Sauce claims 4.2g of omega 3 per 3.75oz serving. Their other offerings range from about 1.4-2.4g per serving. What gives?
Great video. I just want to be clear on something. The object is to get omega 3 in my body. DHA, EPA are absorbed better, so that is the way to go for more efficient use of food. Does that mean not to worry about ALA. In other words these 3 ways to get omega 3 are various routes. As long as I'm getting O3 that's what matters. Don't worry about ALA? Let me know if I need the ALA foods as well.
Mackerel, eh? Salmon has been our go-to fish for a long time, but I’m curious about Mackerel now. I wonder if our picky teens might like it better than Salmon (??).
Not happy. I ear walnuts, chia, flax, hemo hearts, canned albacore, canned minced clams. And i thought that meant i was doing okat on omega 3's. Now I'm not ar all sure. Does tumeric have omega 3's or vitamin K2???
I really appreciate the videos, I am fairly new around here. I was recently diagnosed with type 2 and have been trying to shift towards keto. The only problem is that I also don't have a gallbladder and am trying to heal up my liver. I struggle with high-fat meals, I am going to be trying to add some ox bile to my diet and get some more fermented foods in but do you have any other advice? I am determined to reverse my type 2.
Note too much mackerel is also not that good for the body. Basically incorporating these foods into your lifestyle eating basic everyday eating will be good just don’t go overboard.
if i eat a ton of salmon do i need to balance it out by eating omega 6 foods? if so what ones do u suggest ? i sometimes eat just salmon and kale and some butter if i cheat i will have raw mikl and raw coco
I'm not sure if you already have a video on this, but based off nutritional value, how much difference is there between pasture-raised/wild-caught foods to the farm-raised/vegetarian-fed options? Also, for example, you mentioned that farm-raised salmon has pollutants. How harmful is it for one to consume farm-raised salmon or other farm-raised foods regularly? I would love to buy pasture-raised and wild-caught, but I'm pretty damn broke😬.
It is more important when it comes to salmon, and less when it comes to ruminant animals (beef, lamb, etc.) 😁 I have a video on wild caught vs farmed salmon where I talk about this more.
The McDonalds breakfast ads at the beginning of some of your videos seems a contradiction and insulting to your to what you are achieving with your channel. Anyway I'm down 12 pounds and have never felt better! Thanks Kait!
Almost impossible to get fresh wild caught salmon. The farmed stuff is hgorrible. Tinned is worse even if wild. Filter feeding mollusc are now very difficult to source. Even those from the so-called cleanest waters have micro plastics. Mackerel rules!!
But guess where all these sea animals get their Omega3 from! From algae! So for vegans and vegetarians, Omega3 algae supplements are the way to go. Chlorella even contains B12, which vegans and vegetarians are often low of. Spirulina on the other hand, contains a B12 analogue, which the human body cannot utilize, so be careful with that.
Which of these omega 3 rich foods is your favourite?
I eat plenty of salmon, tuna and herring. I eat a high protein diet as I do weight training. Thanks for making this video, Kait 😁
Salmon is my favourite.
Salmon it's got to be salmon 😋
Smoked oysters or cod liver
@@MattyMMW 😋😋😋
food rich in omega-3 (according to this video)
1. mackerel 10:00
2. salmon 9:38
3. cod liver oil 7:43
4. cod liver 7:13
5. oysters 6:47
6. herring 6:33

8. anchovies 5:50
9. sardines 5:10
10. lamb 4:51

I take a tablespoon of cod liver oil every morning. I’ve found that sprinkling a bit of salt on the spoon first helps with the taste.
You sprinkle salt on your oil every morning??
Another excellent video, and my favourites are tin sardines, oysters, mackerel, herrings and anchovies.. i’m an absolute treat to kiss 😂
👏👏
I'm sure anyone would want to kiss u 😂 jk

Where do you get yours?
I had some wild caught salmon for lunch, nice!Simple salt/pepper for seasoning. Sear the skin and finish in the oven. Yum

I highly recommend cod liver! It’s a good alternative if you don’t like beef liver.
👏👏

Hahaha she only does this when I film!
Eek, eggs are the only food on this list that I eat! Maybe I need to look at a top 20 to find more. Lol. Thanks for the list!
Try a supplement! Much easier

Always learning something new. Was a fishy menu but I will try anything to see the results. Thanks for the super good info.

Hi Kait! Another awesome video!
#VideoSuggestion which foods to eat in a day that covers all vitamins and minerals
Allergic to fish.. just got my lipid profile back.. 35:1
yea - I‘ve never eaten a fish in my life and now the only option is algae supplements.
I eat 2 cans of sardines on non fasting days. King Oscar brand in Zesty Tomato Sauce claims 4.2g of omega 3 per 3.75oz serving. Their other offerings range from about 1.4-2.4g per serving. What gives?
Isn’t mackerel very high in mercury? It would limit the amount of oysters abd other seafood you could have in a week.
I’m 2 outta 11. Eggs and lamb I can get wit. The rest I’m running from
Yupppp...🤣🤣👍🏾
I will definitely be trying cod liver..seems like I would enjoy it. Egg yolks are delicious raw 😋 especially from my backyard hens.
Jealous of your backyard hens! 🤩
I just love mackerel! It's my favorite!
Thank you, presented well.
Off topic...I love your makeup!

Seasons sardines are quite good.
Holy mackerel
So lamb and egg yolks are the only ones those with allergies to fish can have??? That doesn’t seem fair
Do you have a video about vegetarian omega3?
Krill oil?
Salmon is my favorite.
Excellent informative video.
🤗🤗
Does smoked mackerel still have omega 3)

Where can i buy lamb meat? Does a local butcher sell it?
They should! Or just a typical supermarket, depending on where you live.
if i eat a ton of salmon do i need to balance it out by eating omega 6 foods? if so what ones do u suggest ? i sometimes eat just salmon and kale and some butter if i cheat i will have raw mikl and raw coco
No, no need to go out of your way to get omega 6 👍
Skip to 2:18 to get to the facts

I have psoriasis...which omega 3 food is good for me...? Please please reply
I’d focus on your gut microbiome and reduce cows milk and gluten as the root cause of your psoriasis and then add in fish oils, walnuts and flaxseed…
Really great info. Thanks for the omega 3 breakdown.
Agree

This is a lot of food contaminated with mercury etc. .

الجوز رخيص يعطي اوميغاء 3
OMG, is mackerel sierra in spanish? Please someone🥺
Mackerel is one of the fish that contains one of the highest amounts of mercury in its flesh
I do the eggs that's it
You look a lot like Dexter's sister from the series
You should not promote mackerel without pointing the high mercury content first in my opinion.
Better get that omega 3 from salmon.
The high selenium cancels it out.
Salmon
Cod liver oil is disgusting...... however if you are sick, it will make you feel so much better and faster
Hello there 😊

Allergic to everything there except egg yolks and lamb
It is going to be more important for you to focus on limiting omega 6 then 🙏

Cod liver is nasty, but i blend it every week and drink it up.
You got me to eat raw liver, but last time i had mussles i almost died, so for that reason I'm out 😂

No thanks. This site is about Carnivore or Keto. There are plenty of other sites for vegetarians or vegans.
The reality is is that there in no plant source of DHA and EPA, sorry 😔
