Please give me your opinion on something. I had gastric bypass 10 years ago. (Started at 450lbs, & got down to roughly 300 where I had maintained the last few years).
At the start of 2024, I cut out All white sugar, bread, pasta, ect - and switched to a low carb animal based diet. I'm now at 180 !
However, I've been here for 2 months with no movement on the scale. I do snack, - but if I don't, there's no way I could ever eat enough protein in a day. (Half a saucer plate of food and I'm full).
Should I cut my protein, by stopping my snacking trig the day?? My mid- meal- snacks are usually things like Greek yogurt, a Boiled egg, a turkey & cheese slice roll up, or something with no carbs and mainly protein/ fat.
I'm just ready to see progress again. I'm not where I'd like to be yet. I think 150 would be an ideal goal for me, especially considering where I started from years back.
❤ Thank you in advance ❤

People still eat according to the "food pyramid" where you have grains and rice at the base. Fat and sugar at the top which should be consumed sparingly. They got the sugar part right but fat wrong. Meat and dairy 2nd from the top which is wrong.

Long story short, eating disorder, insulin resistant diabetic. My husband has lost 300 lbs w diet and exercise. I was down 100 then I had a relapes and put 30 lbs back. I'm concentrating on fat and protine and limiting carbs. I'm down 15 in a few months. Also checking my waist measure! Increasing cardio and intermitten fasting. Gut health I'm on grassfed beef and broth and pasture raised meat and eggs.
      Thanks for these tips.
ACV! Love it I'm way less likely to over carb veg or even over eat protines. I space it out I'm very resistant and I don't want meds.
Eating liver and canned fish fir better vit D, also mushrooms
I've switched to coconut milk, almond based was causing me massive inflammation.
After eating the liver I felt so much better the next day. I am adding it to casseroles and soups. My whole fam is benefiting.
I love your channel, I wanna eat kangaroo so bad!!

I add an egg to my sprouted oatmeal as I’m cooking it, as well as chia seeds, flax seeds and hemp seeds and lather it with raw butter and maple syrup. Delicious and healthy! Served with bacon more protein

So I'm carnivore and things are finally working for me, but there is only one category you mentioned in here that I cannot get control of. I have tried everything for years. This is sleep. I wake up around 3-4am and have a hard time getting back to sleep. I am also going through menopause so night sweats and hot flashes, hot, cold, hot cold..... I average about 5-6 hours of sleep at night. So you know a secret that I've never heard of before to stay asleep at night?

Thanks for your info. I am a type I diabetic , having. O carbs at all I find it’s very easy even by reducing my insulin intake that I have sugar drops, and it was sugggested go take either glucose sweets dextrose or 5 jelly babies, I have at times had 3 sugar drops in one day. No insulin is impossible an I Would still get a high sugar reading. Any suggestion here please. It’s more suggestions in keeping an average overall reading without loss not as easy bring a type 1 as if you were a 2.

I tend to be protein centric in my diet. Right now I am getting some of my protein from plants. I'm making home made sourdough with bean/lentil flour I make myself a long with rice or oat flour I make myself. I count it as tempeh since tempeh can be made from both rice and beans or lentils mixed. I've had some issues with the recipe so intend to add things like ground then soaked in water chia or fjax seeds. I do pair with home made milk keifer, whey based proturn powder, and some form of meat, fish, poultry. Tiday I added some sugar free home made apple butter in the mix. I do count intake of cals, but not output since I know I'm very active and I'm only aiming for a mild deficit so I can mostly tone and tighten. During my stint with keto (which I'm starting to wean back towards) I didn't really do any breadsabd did over 90% of my food as whole foods. I still mostly aim for a similar ratio of whole foods. I make most things from scratch. I'm still pretty low carb even if not doing keto at the moment. But I've also got to be low fodmap, low omega 6, minimal fermented beans or legumes and a side from lentils no unfermented at al. Well peas and green beans are ok. Soy I steer clear of unfermented and keep even fermented minimal behind my range of health issues.
Diet does need to be tailored some to the individual.

Wait a minute, so you offer solutions and alternatives for 2 through 6 but not oatmeal? Why is that? While I agree with a lot of what you're saying it really comes down to being in a caloric deficit. Not one food is going to sabotage your weight loss goals and insulin levels. It all comes down to calories in vs. calories out. Do you think eating plain fatty cuts of meat on their own isnt going to mess with some of your insulin levels and cause you to gain weight?
Sure, plain oatmeal by itself is not ideal but most people have already figured that out, and add fats and protein to it to make it a well rounded full breakfast that can be extremely healthy and satiating. Maybe it's me but I really don't see that many people in the health world eating just plain eggs or just steak for breakfast. They usually pair it up with other items just like you would pair oatmeal with other items. So labeling oatmeal as something that makes you gain weight can be seen as misinformation as well
