Agree greed has really set in and is destroying the hobby lets just go back when there were no chase cards just one rookie card for the players and maybe all stars I had fun back in the 60’s when I pulled my favorite card chase cards gotta go rare cards should not be produced on purpose just makes other cards useless
With prices, CT scanning, weighing boxes/packs and sure trash coming out of these boxes the only thing keeping the market alive is these breakers buying up the product.
There is plenty of money to be made buying retail and selling singles. Buy cheap boxes that are $20 or $25 Sage or Leaf football, Chrome Olympic, Donruss baseball, and sell singles for $2 or $3 each 60 cards/ box, 20 will sell. Some sets come with 1-3 autos (sage, leaf) worth $5-$20. Takes time to list, that’s the hobby part.
Good video. I agree, the machine will always take over but those Halloween cards are fun. Ripped 3 boxs but only 1 trick or trat parallel. Aaron Jones, cool looking card. Probally still not wortg more than $40. You should do a video on the eminem x Complex cards made by G.A.S. The autos of going for thousands. Parallel cards going for hundreds. Goat of rap worth investing in? Just curious your opinion.
I do opc hockey every year .i build the set and the retro set .its the low end product about $60 a box .last year they hiked the price too $180 a box because of bedard.they lost a customer that for the last twenty years bought 8 boxes every year to build the sets..stupid decision from upper deck.
"I coulda been a contenda." Who the hell would even want a hobby box? What kind of idiot even knows what a hobby box is? I don't. AND I'm someone who has spent more on baseball cards this year than I made in the 1990's. Lost Zero. Not 1 card after 1969 either AND that was a rare Topps Super. It's a collection and a hobby. That has to be the best clip showing what a complete dope looks like🤣🤣😂with slot machine crack in the back and busting the TV with a Card ladder and whatnot. So many losers so little time

I don’t buy packs or boxes anymore. I don’t want that junk in my house!!!
Not sure if this is a hot take or not but grading has ruined baseball cards. It created the industry that allows for prices like this.

@@evokondo2637 that is incredibly difficult to make money that way. If you can more power to you.
That sure don't sound like 'plenty' of money to me
@@barfyman-dm6zx your right I have no idea what I am talking about, turning $20 into $40 is not plenty of money because it requires work.

I can afford to give cards away for free, but I can’t afford hobby boxes.

I’m buying boxes now…. Not opening I just think 2023-24 will hold value because the draft class
@@treverfogarty8514 I think having a calculated strategy n holding boxes to sell is not a terrible idea at all..opening to rip is a different story
Go to a show. Look at the 98 percent of people who show up. Not the classy bunch.
