I started collecting mid 80's as a 9yr with garbage pale kids. Used to trade with the guy next door to me. I priceless memories. Collected all through high school ( 1992-1996 ) chicopee comp Colts ( blue-n-gold ). Out of all the cards I have or possessed through out the yrs, is an Albert Einstein.
Such amazing cards. This is going to be awkward ( maybe not ), everyone dreams of having a Mickey Mantle rookie card. My dream card is the ted williams rookie. He will forever be a God in boston. It's good to dream.
I could help you add to your collection.
Ty F how? I dont trust many people when i comes to card collecting. Had a bad bad bad experience with a fellow collector who decided he was going to help himself to my collection. Made me stop collecting for almost 15yrs. Started back up around 2-3yrs ago
I think i got some cards you may be intersted in david there not graded but there in thier original packaging its from the 1985 86 star set and its the chicago bulls which contain rare jordan rookies that were given at the bulls games during those years
Hey I pulled a 1/1 framed auto from 2020 Topps Definitive... should I get it graded? And what do you think its worth raw?
Thank you M.H.
Cards were the first hustle I paid attention to. Studying beckett and watching the market. Cards and sports are what tought me math and how to read. School wasnt much in my young life. Thankful.
What tought you spelling?
I collect Autographed memorabilia & collectibles and I have been doing that for over 30 years. I’m 39 years old but each time I get to meet one of my heroes in person from my childhood it brings me back to that simple time in my life.
Love how the tag pic says “Baseball Card Collection” with a Wayne Gretzky Rookie Card.
Lmao good catch
Except for anyone who knows anything about the hobby also knows that "baseball cards" is often used to describe a collection of cards, even if there's multiple sports within that collection.
@@pirkkala You're an idiot!

Valuetainment No Johnny Bench or Pete Rose or Joe Morgan cards 🤔🤔🤔 Reggie Jackson missing too
@@shanenolan85 while those have value, they pale in comparison to those cards. I'll bet none of those players you mentioned have a card worth over a grand. Sad but true.
What brought me here was the interest in cards that we share.....what kept me here was your public speaking and ability to tell a story. Very impressive sir.
After about 40 years of collecting Hot Wheels, I decided to sell a lot of my collection and open the rest. It was fun having them i the pack, but physically holding them in my hand quickly took over as I started opening them one by one. I had the same feeling doing this as you described in this video. No regrets at all. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Good video.
I love this video so much. Watched it like -six- seven times already.
Same
I use to collect baseball cards in the 80's when I was a kid. I now collect/play Magic The Gathering. For some reason your video popped up in my feed, you just brought me back to my childhood. My biggest regret was not taking care of those cards, I know not the greatest era for collecting, because I had a Mark McGuire USA card. It is now lost for ever. Seeing your cards was amazing tyvm for sharing.
I collected baseball cards in the late 80s to early 90s. Then got into MTG during revised!
Pat did only this video so he can extend his collection. Lol.
Lol. Good catch. 😉
🤣😂🤣
What did you do for a living before RUclips pat ? This collection is huge .
I used to get home, get my homework done, and run downstairs to the corner grocery store and bag for tips so I could buy my comic books and baseball cards. I still collect sports cards, comics, and coins. I loved the hobby then and still do today. Cheers Patrick for reminding me of the child that lays dormant in all of us.
what
Cole Derp what you mean what? Can’t read?
he got a grocery store in his basement
Dude you just made me feel ok about buying cards on occasion, love the channel and all the mob interviews
Beautiful collection Patrick. I was a serious collector in the late 80’s early 90’s. I recognized many of your cards. Beautiful. I’m drooling over here.
I’m your age and a business owner also collected cards my whole life. Mainly vintage graded nowadays. Love this! The market all depends on what Ebay is paying. PSA is mainly what I buy.
If you have vintage auctions set the bar not eBay. Modern is 90% eBay for sure. Most modern cards won't last if you look at it in totality
During this pandemic I’ve been buying the Topps 2020 Series 1 cards...need 10 cards to complete. My older brother started collecting in 1961...I started in 1966 but have the entire collection. Unfortunately, we kept them all in a big box (not stacked) at the time and my two older sisters would throw away any they saw laying around as they cleaned the house. I have hundreds of thousand cards...yours are worth hundreds of thousands. At one time I did have 5 Ryan/Koosman RC’s...
Dude... AMAZING COLLECTION. I love your knowledge and appreciation for them as well. Respect brother! This is an epic collection.
Thanks
I grew up collecting in the 90’s and held on to all my cards. In 2006-07 I started to open a few packs to bring me back to those days. I ended up buying a price guide and checking out all my old childhood collection only to find out it was mostly junk. So I rested on it for a couple years until I heard the name Connor McDavid and his name was being used over and over in the same sentence as Wayne Gretzky. That is when I started to collect again 15-16. Up until now I collect vintage cards and all the iconic hockey cards I can get. I break, open packs and trade as much as I can to get the cards I want. Also, the ones I remembered as a kid, the ones I could never afford or get from packs etc. Anyways I’m glad to see the same passionate people out there about the hobby. Hopefully the child in me will prove my success and be able to pass it down generations. 👍 Thanks!!
Imagine being disappointed to pull an Alexander Ovechkin instead of Sydney Crosby!
Frickin LOVE it. Going back to your youth & not forgetting your roots. In life you do get beat up a lot. At the end of the day though, your likes and or hobbies takes you away from all of that nonsense!
I collect Arcade machines and Pinball machines . Every so often I have an Arcade Nights event that I invite all my family and friends to come over and enjoy them. Best time ever!!
Joseph Styles sounds awesome. Not a collector and don’t really know much except, I love playing the Indiana Jones pinball adventure machine. That’s the only one I would need.
7:30 that Gretzky is amazing! Nice card in your collection.
Thanks
The reason why there are so few 10s in both O-Pee-Chee and Topps is because they were cut by wire...not large cutters like usual. Often the sides are frayed and to get one completely perfect is near impossible. Very cool video!
In the late 90s in Rochester Hills Michigan ... There was a mall called Meadow Brook... I was a teenager and collected cards... The local card shop was called Competitive Edge... All the local collector kids became friends w Randy the main worker... It was owned by a guy named Mike... Anyway Randys(not sure on last name) good buddy collected Gretzky cards ... he had every Gretzky ever made ever... he would collect them every season etc... Anyway... im 99.9% positive he had both the Topps and Oppee Chee Gretzkys... At the time I couldn't tell u their price etc... I just remember he had them... anyway he kept them prestine... Every now and then he'd bring them to the store and we would look at them ...
It was such a cool time to be a kid... Collecting cards... going to the mall... Aladin Castle Arcade , KB Toy Store and Comic And Card Collecting.
Anyway ... Im sure w social media Randy and his buddy could be found...
I'm fb friends w a friend of a friend that might be in touch w them...
Anyway... I remember seeing Gretzkys rookie cards... and being amazed... I collected hockey and basketball... Eric Daze and Saku Koivu were my guys...
Still remember when the mall closed down in Fall of 2000... I had turned 18 ... A part of that kid in me remembers being bummed... Great memories w friends, fam and siblings
Anyway great stuff
Man I remember collecting basketball, baseball, and football. This is some major nostalgia for me.
I worked hard as a kid to pour my money into collecting every Ken Griffey Jr. Card I could get my hands on. I only lack the 1989 Upper Deck rookie card. The first card ran by UD so there are a lot of misprints and off center cards. Finding clean ones with high grade is something I gave up on.
The most beautiful swing the game has ever seen. So effortless, and his defense was out of control.
EBay has them
Cards are totally different bro
@@danielbusby5773 I will give it a second look. Thanks for the recommendation.
Yeah just make sure they have 100% feedback and you'll be good
Beautiful swing
The card values keeps on reaching a new stratosphere every year it’s bananas . I love opening packs tho more than just buying a single that kind of takes the fun out of it for me . I think you’re card collection is probably the best I’ve ever seen and I’ve been involved in the hobby 30+ years just wow
The Ending is SOOOO *REAL* 🔥🔥🔥 awesome collection!!!
Thanks

Hi Great video. I collect all sports cards. After 24 years I got back into the hobby. I use to collect when I was a kid. What got me back into it is, my wife and I was at a thrift store. My wife found a bag of baseball cards for $5 with 200 cards. We bought it when to the card and open the bag we found Kenny Griffin Jr Rookie card, Jose Canseco rookie card, Cal Ripken Rookie card, after that we were hooked. I also found out that day that my wife of 15 years use to collected sports cards too. Now we do it together..
Mott W ... WoW 😳 that’s a cool story 🤙🏽 glad your back in the hobby
I came to watch a psa collection and stayed for the straight guru speech. I needed that. Thank you. I collect funko pops, instruments, vinyl records, cassettes, and music memorabilia. Im also working a 9-5 where im just below a salary position. Im getting closer and once i get there ill have the disposable income to really collect how I want so I can nurture myself and my collection.
So crazy how Pat said “if you know anyone that has that (Honus Wagner) card, let me know.” This guy is ready to spend 7 million. I love it.
28 years old and I just started collecting cards again. It takes me back to the thrill of being a child, holding something I really wanted. Now I have a handful of PSA 10 cards that I've really wanted for some time :)
Need to watch the ESPN 30 for 30 Shorts: Holy Grail: The T206 Honus Wagner. It is about the history of the Gretzky/Mcnall card. Very interesting history about that card and in the doc they tell you the current owner of that card. Trust me that card has a shady past to it.
Card & memorabilia collector for over 40 years, with the Michael Jordan Fleer Rookie card & Wayne Gretzky Rookie cards as the highlight of my collection. I have 6 MJ cards ranging from PSA 7 to PSA 10 & 3 Gretzky’s all PSA 7. Then I have about another 2000 cards of football, basketball & baseball, with some hockey thrown in. They’ve all come with me moving across the country 2 times, they’re in 3 large totes. Only problem is going through them all and sending the either PSA or Beckett, that’s a PITA, but it’ll be worth it. Thanks for the video Pat!
Hahahehehehehe i collect stationery for writing,i collect letters, i put the answered letters from world leaders in my album for documentation, without documents there is no history!
I’m 20 years old recently started collecting baseball cards. I love getting into this hobby
Starts lowering voice at 10:55 lmao
Remember the Shaq rookie Topps gold. Not the regular tops the gold tops. He was in the post!!!! Man alive you're bringing back some cool childhood memories for me.
This guy put on black gloves to touch cards in cases 😄
yeah u cant get smudges on there obviously it decreases the grading kid.
Even if they're in cases! Still have to handle gently and with care!!
No finger prints to clean.
for real , are the hard plastic holders worth money? Well this card holder is card holder #1 ,the proto type.
you would too if you had those cards
Sports cards have been on the rise for the past year like crazy. I own stocks, gold, real estate and sports cards. My cards have killed it. The crazy thing is that there’s way less than 1 percent of the population that even collects. This is far from a bubble. We haven’t even bought the gum to chew the bubble that blows the bubble. Thanks to guys like you and Garry Vee. The market is making huge strides.
Nice! I have baseball cards and comic books, some as old as 70 years.
Nice
I have Comic Books, but none are 70 years old. What is your oldest and most valuable comic book?
passive income tom.....can we meet somewhere so you can load them up in my wheelbarrow and then i can take off and you do nothing about it?
Get them graded!
I have a Beckett 9.5 2011 Topps Update Black Mike Trout and a Beckett 9 2011 Topps Update Hope Diamond Mike Trout.
Roger Maris: One of the reasons Roger was able to hit 61 home runs was that he batted third in the line up and Mickey Mantle batted behind him. You did't walk anybody to get to Mickey Mantle. I long predicted no one would ever break that record. Of course, I didn't know about steroids. Mickey did like Roger and you probably couldn't find a better batting "coach" than Mickey Mantle. The rumor was that Mickey asked the pitcher (with some promise) in that last game to give Roger a pitch he could put over the fence. But don't let that diminish the status of Roger Maris and his 61 home runs. No one else has got there without the use of steroids. He was the right man at the right time. How can any baseball card collection be complete without a Roger Maris card? Patrick, thanks for bringing back the memories.
Roger Maris was the Al MVP in 1960 (and '61) so he was not a flash in the pan. Interesting trivia, do you know who signed
Roger to his first professional baseball contract? It was the great Hank Geenberg who was in the front office of the Cleveland Indians, at the time.
Cindy Crawford or Elle McPherson when I was in school.
Kathy Ireland too
@ 6:50 Patrick starts gazing at that Babe Ruth card with stars in his eyes. I could feel his passion through my screen. Gotta love his sincerity. Seems he goes 💯% in everything he does. Now this is what I call a role model.
I collect Benchwarmer cards, they do keep me dreaming and motivating me.
That guy holding onto his Gretzky card is smart. I should have done that with my 50’s reissue Daphne Blue Fender Stratocaster. I bought one years ago for $500 new when I was in high school. Today, it’s worth about $800-$1000. I still miss that guitar to this day.
Very nice man! I collect Collectible figures, statues, Funko Pops and other pop culture stuff.
I like to collect Authentic Jerseys. Not Mitchell & Ness but the actual player jersey from that Era. Just recently picked up a rookie Amare Stademier Jersey.
Nice
The only thing I collect are rejections from woman 🙈😅
Hell yeah me too xD great for strengthening that mindset and living carefree of other people's opinions.... and great biproduct if you don't get the rejection
Lol
Hahaha 🤣😂
I just came acrosse you channel and I love the advice of being childlike. Having something from your childhood to keep draeming. That's what I'm doing with sports cards now.Not just an investment but something to keep my young minded and dreaming. Like you said after getting beat down over and over it brings back your innocence and perspective. Awesome I subbed just for this.
Im doing the same exact thing with POKEMON cards. Some vintage Pokemon cards are already going for 6 figures.
Stopped collecting them many years ago. Had about over 1000. But today I prefer Yu Gi Oh over Pokemon so I may go back to collecting cards again for the sake of it
David growing up without a father , I always looks for guidance from entrepreneurs ..your always giving great advice and always full of good insight ..god bless brother keep it up 🙏
Used to collect Match Attax and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards but unfortunately lost them many years ago :/
I agree with you that you have to have a passion for something. I don't collect stuff today, but my passion is roller coasters. If I were to collect something it would be all the theme park maps of every single year of every single park out there.
I've been collecting/investing in pre 70 HOF'ers in investment grade (centered with good eye appeal) in PSA and SGC holders. From 1887 thru 1941 I prefer SGC, from 1947 thru 1970 it's PSA. Prices have really shot up in the last 3 years and I believe the future is very bright as an alternative investment plus, I enjoy old cards. Great show
Mario Lemieux, yes I will debate it.
Amazing collection!
Orr beyond both but lemieuxs 199 with far less supporting cast than Gretzky is immense
I still believe “ GORDIE HOWE “ Is the babe Ruth of Hockey ,,, Hands down !!!!
Every single part of his game was simply amazing !!!
I collect watches & am starting to build my collection.
I am only starting my career but look forward to building this over the coming years.
What I really loved are the pokemon and yugioh cards from when I was little, back then I would have also loved sports cards but I didnt get how you played with them haha
This is your best video thanks for sharing have a great day buddy ⚾ big Mike
I think Gary Vee will love this!

Recapturing your childhood is priceless. That’s why I like to collect as well! Cards also capture history as well....you can imagine Yourself a child in 1909 collecting T206 cards and finding your fav players!! It’s an awesome hobby IMO.
7:50 Pat is sleeping hard on Mario Lemieux.
And Bobby Orr
You know nothing about hockey! Bobby Orr and Mario Lemieux were as good if not better then Wayne.
Agreed. Lemieux was much better than Gretzky. Bigger and more athletic. If he didn't have Hodgkin's Disease slow him down, it wouldn't even be a debate.
Orr and Mario never had the longevity of Wayne. It's not even a debate with Gretzky since his stats are so statistically deviant.
@@leonchan2816
Lemieux had a higher PPG average (only player ever to get above 2.0) before he got cancer. Plus the Oilers won a cup without Gretzky only two years after he was traded.
Lemieux > Gretzky.
Dropping some real wisdom I see! Very nice collection and video. Thank you for sharing!

I have been collecting sports cards and sports memorabilia for many, many years. I PRIMARILY collect anything related to THE UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME. I also collect items related to BOTH The University of Oklahoma as well as The University of TEXAS!!! My Maternal Grandfather was a HUGE FAN OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME!!! We watched a lot of games together during College Football Season together. We ALWAYS watched THE TEXAS/OU Game Every year together as well. I worked quite of these specific games as well. I also collect Professional Sports Teams as well including The Dallas Cowboys, The Boston Celtics, The Dallas Mavericks, The New York Yankees, and The Los Angeles Dodgers. I spent several weeks out in Los Angeles, California back in The Summer of 1977 and went to a couple of gai. Dodger Stadium is a very beautiful baseball park by the way.
I have started collecting BOTH older model cell phones as well as laptop computers. To me, it is fascinating and mind blowing to see HOW Technology has changed throughout the course of time. This is especially the case for the technological advances that have been made in the last twenty to thirty years.
I also have some comic books in my personal collection.
They are only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Thx! I've also just started collecting antique rifles. So a few weeks ago I purchased a 1918 WW1 Lee Enfield SMLE. I also recently bought a 60th Diamond Anniversary Fender Stratocaster and a 2 stroke 2003 Honda CR250R :) Both of which are approaching 20 years old. The Fender is a one of a kind as Fender are approaching their 80th anniversary and Honda stopped making the CR250s in 2007 and moved to producing 4 stroke dirt bikes. There's no way I will be letting either of them go in a hurry. Both in really good condition also!

That's the first time I have EVER seen the Jerry West and Wilt Chamberlain rookie cards. Didn't even know the year of 1961 either. Thanks for sharing. Those 2 cards are awesome 😎. The Mantle second year and Babe Ruth Goudey are sweet as well 😁. First time I ever seen that Ted Williams rookie card as well. Never knew the year or card company that had his rookie card either (1939). Absolutely love that 1938 Joe DiMaggio card. That's not a rookie card? Those Wayne Gretzky rookies are in amazing condition
Great video, keep up the insane work man
Man what a collection! I’ve collected for 30 years. I was lucky enough to pull a Trout update rookie from a $6 box in 2013. I have some vintage Mantle, Mays, Aaron, Koufax, Clemente and other stars. Such a fun hobby to be in.
Great collection Patrick - a tidbit about Ted Williams for years, the baseball legend would shun his ethnic heritage and kept his family’s past a secret. Only when he’d begin to speak out on behalf of black players would he begin to slowly reveal his connections to his Mexican-American Southern California. Ted's mother May Venzor, was a Mexican-American who brothers taught Ted the game of baseball. When Ted wanted to use his speech to call for the Hall of Fame to recognize players of the Negro Leagues who had been excluded solely based on their skin color. Ted's friends would say Williams despite his own ambivalence (Ted shun his Mexican heritage) about his own background, he did remember the discrimination of Mexican Americans. When Ted gave his hall a fame speech. The baseball officials wanted Williams to drop the reference. He gave his Hall of Fame speech his way, and soon after, players of the Negro Leagues were inducted into the Hall of Fame. Ted was a complicated man but it does not take away from his greatness as a baseball player.
I love watching other people's collections, it gives me a unique comparison to mine as well as tips for when I make videos
This is the 1st video I watched of yours and I really appreciate you posting it.
Your absolutely right you gotta dream and reflect on your childhood.
I always collected cards but I've been looking back at all the 80's toys I grew up with from LJN wrestlers, to G.i Joe, thundercats, He-man, captain power, and ninja turtles.
I am so glad I was a 80's baby and those were the best times growing up. I just beat leukemia and went back to work full time March 1st and by March 13th my boss closed the restraunt so I'm out of work due to carona virus but I have a nice collection and have collected since a kid... I'm 37 now and focus on nice clothes and shoes but there is nothing like going back and looking at your collection. I kinda faded out of it after getting sick but I collect Emmitt Smith and Jordan inserts from the 90's.
Topps Gold Refractors and the action packed 24 kt gold cards and studs.
And a speckle of all those action figures. If you know anyone interested in any of that stuff, lmk cause I could use a couple bucks to help buy myself and parents some groceries n stuff.
Hope you stay safe thru this craziness and God Bless.
Congratulations Mr. David with some of the most valuable card collections ie. Jerry West, Wayne Gretzky, Babe Ruth & other.
So awesome! I was in Germany when they won the World Cup in 2014!
PBD is my hero! Best content and he collects cards. I was listening to his latest episode and he mentioned he collects cards. Almost fell over because I also spend tons of money on Sports and Pokémon cards. Been collecting for about 10 years
Me and my best friend use to find bottles also, and buy baseball cards in the 80s. Some of the best memories of my life. I still have my cards.
