I have 1 older sister, we had very few of those moments. All contact has been broken for a long time now.
I have a gaggle load of siblings. Each and everyone of them ,except the youngest, do a passive aggressive conversation. Especially my older sister (second born, first boy)!

I wanna say they're a guilty pleasure but I feel no guilt. If I wanna eat pizza rolls I'm making pizza rolls and enjoying my mouth getting scalded no matter how long you thought you left them to cool down. (37 here 😄)

Yes, the packages have gotten smaller but the prices haven't. The prices have increased.

I could be totally wrong about this, but I think I vaguely remember Emmy's mom briefly appearing in a video a couple of years ago or so. Take that with a big grain of salt. I've been watching Emmy's vids since 2016, but I've got a pretty terrible memory, lol.

He was 86.
No, way.😟 I hadn't heard. Oh, the hours I spent watching his infomercials. May he rest in peace.
Sad to hear of his passing. He's been a part OF the American culture it seems like my entire life (60).
Aww, so sad! I used to get up super early on Saturdays to watch his infomercials while waiting for cartoons to start. 😊
This was so wholesome to watch. When family is this close it really does feel powerful when you remember enjoying something together when you were innocent and young. Remember to tell your siblings you love them and talk about all the positive times you spent when days were more simple.
The history of pizza rolls is pretty interesting. I remember their "egg rolls" (made on the same machine and using the same wrapper). They were awful. After that failure, they decided to put pizza toppings into them and a new snack food was born! They're really best when deep fried.
the egg rolls wee good if you deep-fried them, but if you baked them they were pretty bad..

I've grown accustomed to tossing the cooked (fried or baked) pizza rolls in a seasoned olive oil+dry herb+grated cheese+granulated garlic mixture just before serving. So extra!

I can totally picture you sitting in front of the tv, watching infomercials, eating Totino’s and Kid Cuisine and saving your allowance to buy a Ron Popeil pasta maker!!😂😂 (I’m older than you, so I always wanted a bottle cutter!😳)
It's basically what we call a "pastel" here in Brazil. Emmy should give a try to some brazilian pastels!

she should try the classics -no marinara involved like these pizza rolls-
like "minced meat, boiled eggs, olives and cheese" and "calabrese sausage with onions", maybe "ham, cheese, tomatoes and oregano" ●4●
Maybe some sweet ones, like banana and chocolate -or just chocolate since i know emmy doesn't really like the banana texture-
also she mentioned that's like making ravioli and ''massa de pastel'' -specifically, and already cut to pastel size- is really hard to find abroad so she could just try with fresh pasta like those rolls to make lasagna and other stuffed pasta, then just fry them, it's the same 'thing' just comes in rolls, we always buy those instead of the already pre-cut ones
Going into youtube to find Brazil pastels. FYI, in English, pastels mean a shade of color or a crayon made of wax or some resinous stuff.
I'm sure it is tastier than a crayon though.

i think the origin of the word is because many words in brazil are from portuguese and itallian origin and indeed both -the crayon and the food ones- are based around the same word for pasta which is really cool when 2 sometimes even More totally absolutely different things have the same origin or sound so similar and oh my there's a loooooot of those in portuguese AHAHHAHAHAHAH [we also use pastel for colors and the chalk and wax sticks just like in English so indeed we have All of them and it's weird if you don't have the context in a sentence AHHAHA there's no denying like can you imagine ''OMG this food you offered me, tastes JUST like those Golden Brown PASTEL...... '' okay... are you complimenting or offending my food just now? i'd be concerned AHHAHAAHAH ]

Diced potatoes are great too, also any fried frozen food, bacon, or roasted veggies
Chicken wings come out amazing in an air fryer! I don't like the mushy-squishy texture you get at wing joints so I love that I can get them super crispy in the air fryer! 390 degrees for 25 mins, tossing basket every 10 mins. Take out and toss in melted butter/salt for plain, or then also toss in sauce.

I have worked in the produce section of my local grocery story for the last 4 summers when I was on break for college. The reason that wonton and eggroll wrappers are often found in the produce section is because they need to be kept cold, and the crisping rack where you find leafy veggies and meat substitutes is a nice, refrigerated area that happens to include things you might incluce in eggroll and wonton fillings.
You might also find them with things like the refrigerated canned biscuits or closer to the meats and dairy depending on your grocery store. So when it comes to wonton wrappers, it's not really about categorizing them by their type of food, but where you can keep them cold for customers.

I fry my Totino's. It's so good.
Instead of trimming them, I'd just put more filling and make them bigger... LOL
I also make pizza logs with the egg roll wrappers. I just use the brick mozzarella and cut them into sticks. I lay down 4-5 slices of pepperoni in a row, put the mozzarella stick in the middle and roll it up. Fry it until golden. Dip it in marinara sauce or pizza sauce. I make it all the time.
When I finally had a Kid Cuisine I was so disappointeddd and went back to the Swanson tv dinners 😋loved the chicken

Totinos Party Pizza is awesome. Lots of people would say, “That’s not pizza!” Yeah, it barely is. But, it’s delicious. I bake them until the crust is bubbly and crunchy. And sometimes it’s 4/$5 at my local grocery. Highly recommend.
