Any adult who could intentionally hurt any child does not having any business judging, coaching, or teaching children. The remaining adults who remained compliant with her actions are equally to blame. This young lady remained dignified and continued to maintain a smile, while waiting for “nothing “. Racism is not acceptable at anytime, intentionally generating such an atrocity to young children should be a punishable crime. If we as nation tolerate or condone such behavior, what are we teaching the next generation! Shame on the judge, the photographer and the competition officials for not taking immediate steps to correct this heinous behavior!

If you were an Asian American girl growing up in the State of Florida then you cannot relate at all to something that happened in Ireland which was misreported. The medals were only participation medals. The little black girl AND another child won their competition. The official thought that because both children were due to get winners medals that they wouldn’t be getting the participation medals also. This was a mistake. The matter was rectified afterwards. The official wrote a letter of apology to the child’s family and resigned. As far as I’m aware the other child was white.

We have faced similar situations all over, but then no camera to capture such events. Be it at work, school, public area, various institutions and so on...and even jokes!!!...Some will say, OK it happened, now get over it. The psychological impact is a battle to often overcome.

If black people protest they then take the correct and energy for “ aggression “. Anyways what was “ evil “, is going to turn out for her good.

Racism is a belief in which you think your race is superior to another, is just a upgraded version of Superiority complex which is shown everywhere via competition or events, many athletes think they are superior in their sport to others which again nobody cares take that and extend it towards race and you have a racist thats all.

This is nothing but race baiting BS, that little girl got whatever medals she was due, the lady handing out the medals thought the girl was due a different medal for her achievements and not the type she was awarding, also whoever recorded that particular clip done it illegaly as the child protection act in Ireland makes it illegal to record children without all parental consent, the said incident took place over a year ago and was only released in the wake of an African illegal immigrant stabbing a German tourist outside Dublin Airport's terminal, all designed to distract people from an actual crime committed by a black man on a German white man, as Morgan Freeman once said "How do we eradicate racism" stop talking about it! Irish people are far from racist, but when our country is being invaded by mainly Africans and Arabs we have a right to resist a replacement 🇮🇪✝️🇮🇪

You're right. The damage is done for that little girl, but it doesn't have to define her. The value and meaning she attaches to this discrimination will determine how much. Some meanings could make her stronger/wiser, while others could ruin her life. She probably needs to work with a counselor to ensure it's the former. And, of course, racism is here to stay. The idea that it can ever totally be defeated is a delusion. But it can be lessened. And the way to do that is to address it as it occurs.
