    Omg I love this band didn’t know anybody knew about this. Once you start listening and deep diving on this band you can’t stop. Ted Kirkpatrick and guy Ritter are literally amazing. Listen to pathogenic occular dissidence however you spell it. Front to back great album love skeezix and phantom limb and ruminating virulence. Also if you listen to this band I have mad respect for you. And I love you as well as if you haven’t listened to tomb of gilamesh you’ll love it I promise. It’s my promise

    This is Tourniquet lite. They have ALOT of much better, MUCH heavier songs. Might check out Psycho Surgery, The Skeezix Dilemma, Ruminating Virulence (to name a few.)

      @@taliosnz I absolutely agree. Great songs too. Chose, 'Ark...' because it was a highly controversial song that MTV played it not much more than once and would not play it again much after that.

    • @Airola
      @Airola 4 года назад +3

      Yeah they have a lot of songs that would be great to see reacted to. Some are incredible musically, some are incredible lyrically, some are both. For example Broken Chromosomes would be a great song for reactions. It's a rather simple song but the topic is the abuse of disabled people and the vocal performance could very well be among the best in metal history. Or how about The Skeezix Dilemma, a song about child abuse, musically really good doom-thrash.

    I've been SPAMMING Tourniquet a lot in the The Village alliances, I'm a HUGE fan of the band! Nice to finally get one of their songs reacted to here. This song has another version in their next EP, Carry the Wounded. It's acoustic version with violin and cello added to it, really beautiful stuff!
    Tourniquet is mainly a thrash band, but with this album (Vanishing Lessons) the style changed quite drastically and this is the first album with a new vocalist Luke Easter. They made their first two ballads in this album too, this song and Twilight which is about the neglect of the elderly. The rest of the album is heavy groove oriented metal and it's really really good stuff.
    This is from their fourth album. The first three albums are considered part of their classic era and those albums are to me among the best of the best in thrash and speed metal. They are right up there with Metallica's, Megadeth's, Slayer's etc classics. Too bad that some good Christian bands were ignored a lot back in the day. Deicide even got them kicked out of a festival because they didn't want to share stage with a Christian band.
    A little trivia about the lyrics of this song: Part of the lyrics have the kid's name written within the first letters of the written lines (the last word 'Youth' was written as separate line so it would complete the name 'A-N-T-H-O-N-Y')

  • @loganviking3923

    A very good song for the lyrics and the important, valuable discussion it sparked. But I will say that it's not very indicative of Tourniquet overall. They're a very important band in Christian metal history because they weren't simply as good as their secular counterparts (which was kinda rare back then anyway), but in some ways the actually advanced the genre with the prog elements they added to their thrash sound.
    They were still a bit of an acquired taste for me that took a few tries to get into, but I kept at it because of how important they are to the scene and the genre.

    As much as I get what you're saying about if you're going to commit you have to commit to everything, I think the opposite side of this is you can't force someone to feel emotionally connected to another person - it doesn't really work that way. Feelings are a bizarre thing that aren't based on logic for the most part. That situation sucks but I think I can sympathize with both sides.

    That breaks my heart. They're kids. Kids are the most beautiful, amazing part of life. My baby is the only reason I'm alive. How can you not have enough love in your heart for a child? That's horrible. The only way I can condone this is if one of them kids was a sadistic, psychopath that was killing animals and stabbing you and others with sharp objects when you're not looking.
