- I eat and review Wah Fung No. 1 Fast Food in New York City’s Chinatown. The Chinese restaurant serves some of the best cheap food in the city. They’re most famous for their Char Siu (roast pork), but they also serve amazing roast pig, chicken and duck.

Only been there once, on my latest trip to NYC, but it instantly became one of my favorite food spots (if not the favorite) in the city. I agree with every word you said in the beginning about the sauce. Fantastic!

Just returned from my NYC arts trip (2 operas at the Met, 1 concert at Geffen Hall, 1 concert at Carnegie), I must say I was hugely disappointed by Wah Fung; mercifully I went on a Wednesday afternoon and the line was short. The meats (duck, roast pork, char siu) all tasted bad...You guys need to come to L.A. for the real stuff. I got a large box + soda for only $9.50 I guess you get what you pay for.
With a bad taste in my mouth I then went to Eataly, wow much MUCH nicer than the Eataly in L.A. Molto impressed. You should do a review.
I actually went back to Chinatown and had an excellent meal at Deluxe Green Bo, check out their famous soup dumplings!

Chinese style roasted pork is amazing... At a local place here I have enjoyed the rice plate with tofu and roasted pork. Huge offering and very decent price. It's pure decadence. 😋👍❤️

The roast pig at Wah Fung is dollar for dollar the best foodorgasm-to-money ratio item in all of NYC for me. Great video! Unfortunately it looks like Wah Fung is closed for construction as the last time I went there it was closed.

Just went here today thanks for the tip. Line up was to the street corner (40ish min) but 2 large for $15 tax in…totally worth it !

Yeah but the fact that it’s 2+ meals makes it worth it. Coming from Canada I can’t believe how expensive this city is, so it was nice to find good food paired with good value. Keep up the channel

2. How’s the Chinese in Chicago? Does it even compare to NYC?
Those are Persol sunglasses and I got them off of Amazon and I love them! The Chinese food in Chicago is great, but NYC is much better, but that is partly for the fact that NYC has a much larger population, which equates to more restaurants and a greater variety. I actually like the Chinatown in Flushing, Queens far more than the Manhattan Chinatown.

When I saw you eat soy sauce chicken n Char Siu (roasted pork) which was an authentic Cantonese food that I used to eat back in Hong Kong but your BBQ pork looked kind of fat n greasy😂 $11.50 for all that meat n rice dishes which is a bargain cuz you won't find such good price not even in Los Angeles..😅

Closed since May 2023 with no ETA of returning. Could be the death of a Chinatown icon. James, it seems you missed out on their barbeque chicken thigh and leg which was super yummy.
I know it's a real shame! I'm hopping it returns, it would be a real loss if it doesn't.

I know it just reopened after a pretty long closure and I think the prices are still pretty affordable.
@@Jamesnu fr they charge $20 for a meal like that where I live and I don't even eat there. There are a lot of places like these around my city so Seeing this affordable food spot makes me see hope that we can eat like this again, good food at low cost, that's somethin special😊
