I agree 100% Matt. This is one of the most gorgeous cars in my opinion that's come out in a very long time. Infinity nailed this design. This would be at the very top of my list if I was wanting to spend around 60k
Saw that you got a comment about not being as entertaining as Doug .. I prefer your reviews by far!!! Way more educational and you cover the smallest details and it gives you an idea how it'd be to own the cars reviewed in the matter of minutes... I mostly scroll on when I see videos from Doug.. you are my favorite RUclips car reviewer thanks for your awesome work mate!
Whenever Matt turns into a back road and right before he's about to start speeding he looks around left and right, front and back, and his eyes run around in a funny way like he's about to commit some serious crime LOL. You're hilarious bro! Love your reviews, incredibly detailed, some of the best on RUclips period.
I just took my 2018 red sport 400 AWD on a road trip yesterday and managed 28mpg on the highway. I typically average 24-25 and I do a mix of driving. These cars have a SIGNIFICANT break in period where they get terrible gas mileage for the first couple thousand miles.
Agreed with Matt, this is one strikingly sexy car in person, top 5 out there. With the luxury features and smooth ride, its definitely targeted at an older business executive that want to have a bit of flash and speed. Boy racers need not apply.
Ugh, avoid Nissan like the plague. They just pd out 277M to end one class action lawsuit & there are more. My Nissan has been a complete disaster. Never again! Read about lawsuits, recalls & more.
As a man of your word, you, indeed mentioned the stereo in enough detail! Thank you. I hope you incorporate that in as many reviews as you can. A lot of us really do care about the audio. Thanks Matt and really great review! You was really throwing the Q60 around like a boss!
I agree those paddle shifters are weak. I have a G37 and like the look of the bigger paddles. Such a silly thing for Infiniti to cheap out on. Maybe people complained the old ones were too big and got in the way, as they do sometimes but are totally worth it.
In the drive enhancement settings you can change the throttle pedal to the soft settings that gives you more control. don’t know of any other cars that offer that feature. Also I find that you can rest your foot on the throttle pedal in the standard mode and it will stay at the cruising speed you at. Ps it’s a great car and I love it.
Rodarte lol. I though the rcf might give it competition for looks but it’s not close. Rcf looks good but actually less sporty in real- life than in pics. When you see both in real life, the Infiniti is much sleeker in overall shape, and the rcf actually looks a bit bland - relying on the vents and bells and whistles to sport it up more. So the Infiniti ends up being classier and sportier at the same time. Having said that.... new Infiniti quality is the obstacle for me.....
Damn it does look good. I find it crazy that you see those plastic type paddle shifters in quite a few high end sports cars. Why would they do that? It can't be that much more money for some nice metal shifters. Even aluminum.
The JATCO 7 spd transmission is honestly really solid, and puts NA V6s like the 370z with full bolt ons and e85 tunes running high 12s trapping 112-115 but i was honestly hopping Nissan would put an even better transmission in these to compete with GM and Fords 10r80
The exhaust note you're hearing is through the speakers and the 0-60 time is 4 1/2 seconds and not 5 seconds. I own a 2017 Q50 Red Sport AWD. Great reviews btw.
They increase the shift times to minimize clutch pack wear, and to keep transmission temps down. I'm sure you can get an Ecutek tune to fix that, and get more power in general. For the money, I'm surprised they couldn't atleast put pilot super sports on these from the factory.
Note: The ride is smooth because of the adaptive dampers. In Comfort mode the settings are soft. In Sport/Sport+ the shocks stiffen up a lot. Its like having 2 different cars. We had the Q50S and its ride was pretty harsh because it just had regular sport tuned suspension with no adjustment settings.
And the award winning VQ 3.7 liters engine and an intoxication exhausts note that come with it stock in the G37 coupe. I love the G35/G37/Q60 coupe and each has it strength and weakness. All amazingly good looking cars : )
First review with this music ? See this in person and it is pretty impressive. I owned a G37 and loved it for what it was , a DD. If you don't have a family and don't want to over spend on a BMW then this should be on your short list. Nice review MM.
My camry has the head rest angled the same way. You now have a hunch in my back. I understand the design was for whiplash but I'd take my straight back over whiplash
I really have to agree with you Eye Dupppz, the Q60 is in my top three for a replacement in the coming months but coming from VW/Audi for my daily drivers (hell, even my mustang has a nicer interior and gauge cluster) it is reaaaaaaaally lacking in refinement inside. That said, it's still a great car overall but that cluster looks like its out of a 2005 Honda Civic not a $60k luxury coupe.
I was so close to buying the 400 red sport, but it hadn't come out back in May where I was living... So I went for the 2017 GT-R PREMIUM white on black with the premium orange interior... I believe the Q60 would've been 60k cheaper...
Kevin Daskal fuck what do you do for a living??? lol must be nice.Congrats.Friend of mine brought a 2014 GTR in red he loves it.I subbed to your channel man nice GTR video
Matt I really like this Q60S but I'm leaning toward the CLA 45 it's just a better looking car. I think these are in the same league of All week drive luxury sporty cars, you can get a used one for around 35k
My mom just bought a Q60s. I'm 6 foot 2 inches and I thought the amount of room compared to my 2016 Mustang was very different and adaptable. Have to disagree with you, Matt! Still love ya
This is basically the G37 coupe predecessor. Since the G37 coupe and the 370z share the same engine. I definitely see Nissan using this same engine platform from the Q60 Red Sport coupe for the new Z. I just hope they do not decide to use the same transmission or atleast offer the new Z in Manual
Nice work as always Matt, really hope someone brings you a tuned Q60 with a proper tires and exhaust at some point, really sad that Infiniti isn't sending out any Q60's with the traditional steering rack it's really not doing their DAS system any favors..
Hi Matt, Could you have customized the steering and transmission to be in sport plus and the suspension to be in comfort? If so that may have solved some issues.
nah if they dont want to develop a 4.0L for the new 400z, they shouldn't use this engine, the old 3.7L is way better in potential and engineering thats built in it for twin turbo than this 3.0L in this car. In stock form the 3.7L can handle 650-700whp reliably, thats like double the power of what this infinti is producing and similar psi. Since nissan is low on money to develop lately, all they need to do is drop twin turbos in the 370z, but then it would creep into GTR territory, i guess and it will be a lose lose for them.
They made the IPL into a sports package rather than a true performance brand, so they killed it off supposedly Nismo is working with Infiniti on some things and AMS is also working with them so we may see it return in some form or another. Especially if the Q60 Black Edition ever appears.
Mario Munoz well an Ipl wasn't anything to brag about in a strait line, solid on track. An Ams tuned Q60 will run about 11.4 at 122 in a 1/4 mile. So we are talking gtr times for under 70K
I was always a Honda Acura Infiniti guy.. I'm done though. Going Chevy Camaro 2ss if not the Zl1. the red sport was an option in mind along with the challenger SRT. But yea after all these reviews. . . I'm going Chevy
Yea I think the RWD version being much lighter is also equipped with Michelin Pilot Supersports optionally I believe, or similar tires that thing will boogey for sure.
The Q60 has a really great good looking interior. But compared to the G37 coupe it looks much more cheap. The G37 comes with telescoping steering wheel, brush aluminum, magnesium paddle shifters, thigh extension on the seats, anolog clock, infiniti logo on the seats and Bigger engine which makes it better for modifications. G37 and G35 just have much more better build quality plus they were offered with a manual transmission. I wouldn't trade my G37s coupe for a Q60 or Q50. But don't get me wrong they do look good.
These cars really stand out on the road! Who in the hell spec'd the car in silver with that bone colored interior? I bet in the dark blue they offer that would really be stunning! There's a cranberry color, similar to what's offered on the Lexus RC coupe, that is unbelievable😎 All the close ups Matt did on the infotainment system shows why black and shiny materials are such a horrible idea. Touch screens need to be matte finish, the fingerprints drove me nuts just watching. I also saw some cheap looking grainy plastics in there.
I agree the glossy screen is a PIA. They do give you a MF rag to wipe it though :) True story. The grainy plastics? The only one that really bothers me is the silver finish carbon fiber-ish looking ones on mine. I'll post pics on AG at some point then you can evaluate a bit more. Now go keep that little Italian Machine clean! ;)
I wasn't able to ever do a full review on the current generation unfortunately, but I did a quick drive video on it a while back. Here's that video: ruclips.net/video/CkYFxsHxPOY/видео.html
This car is better than the camaro and the Mustang. I've had them both, and this car is way better. It does just what it's supposed to do. It's almost perfect matt keeps saying it small but it's not that much smaller than that mustang Shelby and camaro I had.
@@rollienoodles I believe that 100%. I've driven a 350z myself and the VQ and VR series are great sounding V6's which is why I don't think they need that artificial enhancement. It's just my own personal preference. If I need more sound, I'd rather get and exhaust and/or intake.
ive been in one of these and for some reason it felt fast.Didint seem to impress Matt at all tho which I thought was weird but hey I guess that's just me everyone has their own opinion.Awsome review as always
We drive the old version. 2000 I30 T love it so. Bought it twice. Rebuilding it right now. New KYB, rotors and brake calipers & pads plus tires and rims...(no more money otherwise)))). Not following the hype. Since all parts are amazing. But its needs maintenance like crazy. Worth it. Yes. The ride ..... only a few will understand.... q50 my other dream car. On top of the infinity projects. Q50 the only real one that ever came out.
I have a question Matt, Could you please answer it honestly? Some reviewer said the steering is vague, excessive electronic assist, and unresponsive... what do you really feel? Is the steering not engaging? Thanks in advance.
I'm always honest in my videos. Like I say in the video, the steering felt pretty good to me once you get used to it, especially in sport or sport+ mode.
The DAS is on v2 and is much improved. I own and 18 and love it. Key to the car is to change out the tires as they are everything when it comes to handling and 50%+ of what you'll see in the steering and how you like/hate it. Steering wise, Sport is okay, Sport+ is way to twitchy and sensitive. Put it in Personal Mode and dial the two selections there in the middle. You'll thank me for it. It's spot-on great for me now. I had electric steering in my last S4 and it took a bit of getting used to but once you do you'll appreciate it 100% on a daily driver. Those that come right off hating it either don't own it or bought a street car vs a race car and disappointed themselves. When you drive on the road, you can still feel how the car is handling, you just need to do it through an understanding of how a car feels overall. Steering is just one aspect of feeling. The benefits of it are great. The car maintains a line well, corrects for undulations and cross winds, has lane keeping ability and from a vibration/fatigue standpoint, is a dream on long drives. Who wants to feel every pebble in the road in the steering wheel when you don't need to.
Drove a redsport 400 and was vastly disappointed with its power output. Made 400hp AWD feel sluggish. Ended up going with an amg c43 which just puts this car to shame in the performance category. Yes, AMG should be putting Infiniti to shame, but both cars share the same engine and the amg makes less power. If Infiniti wants to compete with AMG, M, S/RS they need to step it up. more torque, an actual performance exhaust, flat bottom wheel, etc etc. end rant !
Absolutely NOT. Read up on all the problems with Nissan transmissions & more. Including the class action lawsuit that Nissan just pd out 277M to end. I drive my dog of a Nissan Sentra, vs my mom’s Toyota & although they cost the same the difference is staggering. My Sentra started with numerous problems after 3 years, at 24k miles. Bad paint job, leaking rubber around the doors and trunk, AC fan went, AC hoses had to be replaced, & I’ve been having transmission problems for two years. Nissan could care less, & doesn’t have a clue what’s wrong with the car. What a huge boondoggle mistake buying a new Nissan. I am a long time Honda Person and have a CRV. Same mileage, @ about 46k, but never a problem with it. The only thing I can say positive about the Sentra is it gets good mileage, but that’s not enough to keep it.
Californians are stuck in the 60's. Originally a sunroof was a solid body-colored panel that could pop up or be removed (think early 911's) whereas the term moonroof was introduced in the 1970’s to describe any panel in the vehicle’s roof that is made of glass.
I agree 100% Matt. This is one of the most gorgeous cars in my opinion that's come out in a very long time. Infinity nailed this design. This would be at the very top of my list if I was wanting to spend around 60k

BMS JB1 tuner brings this car to life
Does it fix the issues with the tuning and transmission performance or is it still relatively jumpy and slow with the gearbox response?
@Nelsonic That’s lame that it doesn’t do anything with the TCU. Oh well.
I agree those paddle shifters are weak. I have a G37 and like the look of the bigger paddles. Such a silly thing for Infiniti to cheap out on. Maybe people complained the old ones were too big and got in the way, as they do sometimes but are totally worth it.

I've got the new Q50 Sport 3.0T, and mine has the much better magnesium paddles. Not sure why they cheaped out on their flagship model.
I always like to tune into Matt’s reviews to find out if the interior of a car is nice, pretty nice, not bad, or gets the job done.

the crazy thing is that the g37 it replaced, and even first gen q50 have magnesium paddles shared with the GT-R.
Infiniti and high end doesn’t seem to match
These look pretty good. The advertised power levels on the Red Sport are nice. Though that makes me wish Infiniti had an M3-fighter on the market.

Love your videos 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
There's definitely some kind of synthetic engine noise inside the cabin. Doesn't sound good imo.
rockervdrive you need to ride in one before you say that. I own one and it is am exciting car to hear and drive
I suspected that. I hate when they do that
@@rollienoodles I believe that 100%. I've driven a 350z myself and the VQ and VR series are great sounding V6's which is why I don't think they need that artificial enhancement. It's just my own personal preference. If I need more sound, I'd rather get and exhaust and/or intake.
Matt!!! I’m caught between buying a 2018 q50 red sport or a Lexus IS350 F sport. What would you recommend!!!
ive been in one of these and for some reason it felt fast.Didint seem to impress Matt at all tho which I thought was weird but hey I guess that's just me everyone has their own opinion.Awsome review as always
It’s nice, but it sounds lazy on upshift
It does
No it doesn’t i drive one daily
it is when you're not in the throttle more than 3/4, but under WOT it shifts great.
ms3er adaptive shift is wonderful
COOL Review: 2017 Infiniti Q60S Red Sport 400 AWD
Thanks Ron Howard.
Infiniti got it right with exterior. Interior is a different story
Matt what car would you reccomend at this price point, that has that better transmission response and throttle responses with Similar specs?
Check out Kia stinger gt2 or genesis g70 3.3t
Just get a hellcat same price
Thank you for ur respond! appreciate it :)
keep up the good work!
So many fingerprints on that screen, you will be cleaning that everyday! xD
His cameraman needs to do it actually
You can always get a matte screen protector for $10
Those tires are the worst. I wouldn’t leave the dealer lot with them on. Summer tires are a must have for that car
Nice detailed review. The car easily beats it's competitors.
Just watched the 2010 G37 review from him and it's pretty much the exact same review 😂
If Infiniti wants to compete with AMG, M, S/RS they need to step it up. more torque, an actual performance exhaust, flat bottom wheel, etc etc. end rant !
Surprised it isn't much faster (if at all?) than a G37 Coupe ... it's got 70 more horsepower
freshmilk980 the are underated
The G37 engines?
no the new vr engines the 3.0t 300 hp, Ive heard it makes around 330. The red sport model is probably 20-30 more than 400
freshmilk980 It is faster, also it has twin turbos so all you have to do is downpipe it and tune it and boom.....500hp
love the intro keep it up
Good looking car
Reminds me strongly on lexus
Infinity Q60 based on looks alone, is way better than Lexus RC. But is it as reliable as Lexus?
I find it oddly funny Matt how you call a moonroof a moonroof where is out here in California we call it a sunroof...
Californians are stuck in the 60's. Originally a sunroof was a solid body-colored panel that could pop up or be removed (think early 911's) whereas the term moonroof was introduced in the 1970’s to describe any panel in the vehicle’s roof that is made of glass.
"Sport plus mode and a raccoon in the road." lmao
