In this rapid-fire sequel to the cult favorite, the Federation's best Mobile Infantry unit goes back into action against the Bug horde. But this time, the Bugs are waiting for them. Dying to protect the Federation in a final stand against an insurmountable horde of bugs has got to be the most badass way for a soldier of the Mobile Infantry to meet his end. Dax earned a seat in Valhalla for sure.
The o my part I took seriously minus the sxxt horror story and gun cgi they ruined I could barely take it seriously it’s about a war with bugs and this barely fit the cake
Dax was supposed to be Zim in the original script. Because Clancy had scheduling issues, they rewrote it to be Dax
That would have been so much better
Honestly Clancy would’ve been amazing in this film and with a higher budget it would’ve been a better sequel. They should’ve waited for his schedule to clear up

Dax dissevered a place in the halls of Valhalla. Died a warrior’s death. He lived a man, killed superior officers because they got their troopers killed over their egos. He died a hero, a legend and a warrior.

You DO realize that it’s a Satirical take on such governance right? Or did that go right over your head by taking it too seriously. You saw Facism and immediately turned off your ears and tuned out while watching. The stuff and the fed net is over the top.
Paul Verhoeven was brilliant at making the first.
In my opinion, few good ones such as Captain Dax, Sergeant Reke and Sergeant Zim; definitely earned the ranks as a badass on par with Johnny Rico for extreme courage & responsibility for the survival of the human race (this point, surpassing even Rico himself). Dax was a better Warrior and definitely the bigger, meaner Badass again, in my opinion. Dax, Reke and Zim are my favourite ST legends. RIP Captain Dax and Sergeant Reke. Both Warriors and Legends!
this movie wasnt bad. It had the lowest budget of all 3 and still pulled the CGI off. I think because they did so little with CGI due to its story they actually had a decent sum to spend on it.
Starship Troopers movies have the most beautiful ride or die women!!! I wish we could get movies casted like this now days.
You know they would allowed Dax to live and honorably discharge him if he just used the the control bug as his excuse, it's plausible enough since his commander was giving orders that would lead to death of troops on purpose.
They want a drama and a heroic sacrifice

If they would modify the rifles, make them full auto option, these would actually be the best rifles.
They run off of “rail gun” tech, which is why it only takes a few shots to kill a bug and the blue flash, that’s the electrical discharge.
Actually I think they take the term pulse rifle to a literal, using an EMP or something to do the word of a railgun
The bug cgi is the only thing alright yet the guns need update
Apparently the reason why they only do semiauto is because the full-auto prototypes will cause seizure among the troops.

They were supposed to be full auto, but they were worried about causing seizures with the flashing lights

I wanted to be left behind while the bugs focused on me after I eliminated an insurrectionist that was masquerading as a Helldiver, he was a senior officer by rank so I threw my 380 down and told the rest to evac.
Definitely leagues better than Marauder. Budget aside, this movie is amazing
Facts. I hate seeing how much flak this movie gets. It has a third of budget of the 3rd one yet the bugs here look just as spot on as the first movie. I really liked the claustrophic feeling this movie gave and the small cast. Marauder was AWFUL.
The second one was not bad at all as an infiltrate bug flick it was great

It’s really too bad Starship Troopers didn’t capitalize on the fact that people got attached to the actors and characters they played in the first movie. It was a beautiful coming-of-age tale that also mixed in a very interesting story of a future society at war with other planets. Instead, they focused on zero character development and just fighting sequences against bugs. Hopefully someone redoes this movie franchise in the future
? The third movie had rico as star and being portrayed as a God like figure, as opposed to the Bug god the Sky Marshal worships.
Then on Mars, he's the grizzled veteran leading a plucky squad to secure freedom, against a Sky Marshal who instigated an invasion so she could secure more votes ..

Dax finally had someone who cared about him.
Literally makes no sense as the bugs could disarm and infect him with the new brain bug. Even if he *did* take out a General he could still be tried if they found him again and this problem would start anew.

I didnt remember the bugs looking that good in this one
They look just as good as the original!!!! The reason you dont remember is because you dont see them much (warriors) they are in the first 10 minutes of the movie, then here in this scene for the last 5. However, the effects throughout the movie are fantastic for the smallee bugs inside the base. Youd NEVER assume it has a 7mil budget. I have a lot of respect for this sequel tbh.

I dont know if I'm the only one who noticed, but if you look at the time when he say's "Murderer's dont go home" he actually say's something different and they edited that line in! I wonder what he actually said!

Despite of the movie was being criticized that can be filmed in some better ways, yet the story was somehow OK for me. Everytime when watching this scene, I did hope DAX can go back to Federation like what Rico can have a 2nd life or "other arrangements" in ST3. DAX deserved to be respected in terms of his role in protecting the mother survive, bringing the important news to the federation, benfiting the final strategic decisions.
DAX was truely a hero of the Federation.

This movie was god awful but damn I love these guns. they sound so powerful and dont look as weird as the guns in the third movie
They are powerful but their rate of fire is awfully terrible, it works great in groups, compensating rate of fire with number instead.

For Starship troopers? Most likely not. The 2 recent ones were all animated. Not bad but nothing was good as the first movie.
Considering we have Terran Command, I would say there could be a chance. Not much but maybe.
