I really like this movie. Sure, it's NO Starship Troopers 1. I like the far, far, far smaller scaled, inclosed setup of this movie. I love the horror aspect of this story and the brain bug spider things are horrible but in a fantastic way and the just 👌🏻 Love that they used a lot of practical effects for body bits and such with open heads with huge spider things climbing out, it's just straight up horriying. They shouldn't have added '2' at the end of the title, this is more like 'tales from the soldiers' thing, a full length single story spinoff thing. This movie is just straight up body horror, just 👌🏻
I share the EXACT same feeling and love for this movie too. Very glad to know im not the only person who really likes it. Original is better obv, but this is still a great watch and I dont think people have any idea just how impressive these effects are given the budget they had to make this movie.
The adrenaline injections that Sergeant Rake gave herself were not only intended to slow down the evolution of the parasitic insect, but also to amplify her physical strength to face the other infected and save the uninfected. She didn't deserve to die.
There were two badasses in this movie! Male would be Captain Dax and female Sergeant Reke, damn ain't no fancy way for a badass soldier to die like Reke, she wasn't just a gorgeous hottie, but also a courageous, bold and extremely fierce Warrior to face until the last of her breath, which she fears no death against the abomination (bugs) against humanity! It's very sad to see brave ones like herself and Dax go to the afterlife like, gone too soon! Captain Dax, Sergeant Reke and Sergeant Zim are all my favorite ST legends! RIP Captain Dax and Sergeant Reke, definitely Heroes of the Federation; Warriors and Legends to be remembered!
Gotta give it to the practical effects team for this one, lots of make up, fake blood, and props just in these 3 minutes. Not to mention the holes in heads etc

the female Sgt (the chick who blows her head off) plays Captain Deladier in the first movie who was crushed under an airlock door. Now my immersion is ruined when watching this movie
It sucks the first vs the second one is night and day. It's like the first movie was made by spielberg and the second one is made by highschool students.
you're not far wrong, this was a direct to video movie, much lower budget, that's why they use LED guns instead of blank firing guns and there are not many warrior bug scenes.
I just love the fact that infected and bug controlled Billy took the effort of dressing up and not chasing people around in only his towel. (I actually despise this fact.)
Also confused with this scene because in 2:15 he didn't react to being hit on the head but here 3:53 he reacted to being stabbed on the side. On a later scene, they also don't react to bullets being fired at their bodies so this movie is very inconsistent which is probably why I purged this from my mind lol.

a dead captain dela in movie 1 is now a live sergeant in 2. thats messed up, i could have really liked the sequels, 1st because it was sci-fi and maybe if the movie hadnt killed most of the main story characters, i didnt like the anime series. but now i can only see the story's ture atmospheric mood through a video game which wasnt bad.
