Ted using "silver face" twins at this point in career. I still love his older tone with the old brown twins. Awesome stuff no matter how you look at it! Ted is a genius.
Same here, I have a couple 63 twins and had a silver face, people hate on the silver face twins but paired with a blackface that thing was great, master volume was good...that's probably why he used them here, small studio , and he could lower the volume overall. But the old 6 tweed twins were iconic behind Ted,
My friends and I watched this when it originally aired. We skipped school and partied all day. Somehow we had sound coming thru my stereo. I think they simulcast the audio on the radio?? When ted came on we cranked it up and my buddies mom came downstairs to tell us to turn it down. She saw the condition we were in and that we were rockin' hard. She just shook her head and hollered "I'm not even gonna try", and back upstairs she went. The next day my buddies stepdad had a talk with all of us. "you guys are just going hogwild on the smokes" pretty much sums up his lecture. We were pretty burnt out the next day. I thought it was more of a midnight special deal? It wasn't on very long. It seemed as though alot of the musical acts weren't to our crowds liking. We were talking about this show for quite some time. We saw him on the Scream Dream tour about this time at Wings stadium in Kalamazoo, michigan. years later I met Charlie Huhn and asked him if he remembered Kalamazoo and the Scream Dream tour and he said "Kalamazooooo!". I told him "you guys really tore it up that night" and he said "we tore it up everynight". He went on to say Ted was very difficult to keep up with because he'd hit the stage "at 100 m.p.h. and just didn't stop". The good old days.

Seen Cooper, foreigner,styx and a couple others in Arizona prior to that BUT grew up listening to Ted by 13 and man he could not only SHREDDDD but just Scream like his hair was on fire. When Van Halen started to make it BIGGG Ted stopped backstage to chat and they took pictures and even EDDY VAN HALEN HAD HIS THUMB UP in the photo cause Ed KNEW ,THIS LUNATIC FROM MOTOR CITY PLAYED FOR KEEPS So, saw Ted bout 10 years later in PHOENIX,AZ and he still brought down the house. Finially got to meet him at a bow hunter convention. REAL NICE GUY, gave him a coyote skin cap with the hind quarters that cover your ears then rear legs that go bout three quarters of the way down your chest to tie cap on your head. Of course the paws n claws were on it and he really dug the gift. I told him I'd be cranking up his tunes till they shut the lid and said it'd keep his head warm hunting. And 40 years later I'm still rockin out to Ted..
I got chased by the cops in my 1971 Plymouth Fury with this song in the cassette deck. Back in 1983. Fun Times. They ended up taking my car when I ran on foot.
you were lucky...could have ended up like the girl in Terminus ElDorado! When he did that one in concert we were freaked out big time.Must have been that blue dragon we ate. It seems like he dry humped some babe on the drum riser during that song?
I don't get it? The songs over 40 years old and you commented 2 months ago,but you say it doesn't hold up? My friend and I were at the back doors of wings stadium in kalamazoo when he played this during sound check.They had chains on those doors and the doors and chains were rattling so hard the glass in one of the doors broke. Security thought my friend and I did it,but another security guy ran up and told the guy we didn't do it.He said "I knew that was going to happen one of these days".
