Ted Nugent on Letterman early 80's (Part 1 of 2)

- Опубликовано: 28 сен 2024
- This is my personal recording of Ted on David Letterman from the early 80's. I was about 14 when I recorded this on VHS (because I loved the guy) and thought it would be fun for Ted fans to see. It's a very enjoyable interview with some good laughs. Ted always has something to say - guns, media, rock and roll and, of course, himself (don't miss Part 2 on guns). His charm is missed by some but his guitar solos cannot be denied. The digital transfer is clean. The original recording always had that unmistakable snow and sound. Nevertheless, I don't mind the friendly jabs in the comments for the quality. Couldn't be helped. I've got more old footage that I'm digitizing and it will be cool, yet crappy, just the same as this.
Be sure to check out part 2 of this video - you'll get a link at the end of this one - where Ted and Dave get into guns and Ted plays another song. Back when I originally uploaded this, RUclips didn't even have the ability to take the whole segment as one.
By the way, kkp5200 out there has taken my 2 videos of Ted and made them one video passing them off as his, which I find flattering and insulting at the same time. Not cool. I taped this show, kept the tape for 25 years and I found a way to transfer it & get it on RUclips in 2011 when it wasn't easy to do. But whatever.
Update: I turned off the comments for several years because the political hate got to be a bit much & was beside the point, but I turned them back on due to requests.
Legendary.Talented. Quick witted. Unbroken. American Badass. Uncle Ted, kicking ass for over 60 years.
Man, I miss the 80's! I graduated in 1980 and grew up with music from Ted Nugent and so many other great bands. They don't make music like that anymore! 👍👍
Yeah I grew up in the seventies and eighties graduated in 81 nothing like Ted Nugent Cat Scratch Fever I saw him several times and bad on Backstage one time in Milwaukee
I was born in 80 and remember most all of it
But I wish I had been born a little sooner so I could have been old enough to fully enjoy the greatness
Me too . I graduated 1979. Ted was AWESOME
You're absolutely right. Nothing today beats what was coming out in the 80s.... Nothing. Everything today is all about making money.

Yeah he’s very accurate and hits all the notes at all the right times. Good stuff.

Instead he showed his true self. A total asshat.
The fact he isn’t in the hall of fame is disgusting that fact that politics has taken over everything pisses me off
So why bring up politics? Making everything political IS part of the problem. Ted is a great guitarist, don't detract from that.

The man was sitting down rocking it out so effortlessly...that is true talent.
That’s how most of us guitarists practice: sitting down.
That's because it didn't take much effort to play like that. Let's re-define "true talent." Can you say Jeff Beck?
@@nofairytales5604 What do you mean "redefine" you dumbfuck. They are from the same era. Both play blues based rock. Both are legends. What? You learn a new name just because he croaked? Must be one of those "wimps."
@@ducksoff7236 First of all, Einstein, I didn't say "redefined"; I said "refried" (the former gives way too much credit to the Motor City Moron). There's an old saying: There are innovators and there are imitators, and guess who's the innovator here. Chuck is the father of rock guitar, and Ted is the father of being a loud-mouth asshole (and I'm not commenting on his lack of talent for this reason). Thery're also not from the same era. '50s vs. '70s. Even Ted admits (surprisngly for Mr. Ego) that Paul McCartney once said that he (Ted) had never had a good musical idea in his life. Right on, Paul. Legends? There are all sorts of rappers who are now considered "legends." Do you want to tell me those Bozos have any talent because they're rich and famous? Lastly, your use of childish, vulgar name-calling (maybe you're a Trumper. like Ted) is not impressive and just might get you kicked out of junior high school some day. In fact I could turn around Duck Soff with just changing two letters and probably make your moniker more accurate...but that would be too easy. Rock on.
@@nofairytales5604 Read your comment again not-Einstein. Here is a copy and paste you jackass "re-define." No where does it say "refried." Too much credit LOL! Jealously is a hell of a thing.

Never forget my 1st seeing him. It was at a small local teen club in MI of only a couple hundred in “69”. He jumps out on stage as the Amboy Dukes Greg Arama, Andy Solomon, and Dave Palmer are building up a song.He was wearing nothing except a tan leather loincloth, full Indian headdress, and a neck choker. He jumps out onstage screaming with a bow & arrow and jumps up on top of his amplifier, drills an arrow perfectly in a deer decoy hung on a pole that has been placed barely above the audience. Throws the bow and arrow down with the band building up a song, and puts a Bowie knife in his mouth, slings up his guitar and with a thousand decibels steaming from it, jumps off the tall amp onstage again, perfectly to the opening downbeat of the song not missing a beat and throws the knife into the deer as an afterthought never missing hardly a note on his guitar, still screaming the whole time. Those were the days my friend, Good Golly Miss Rolly. Made such an impression on me I decided to play rock & roll in a band.

@@atomicwedgie8176 Obviously the jelly is in your head.
The early 80’s! Man I miss the VHS years.
I remember seeing Ted in concert. I think he must have tried 130K at my show. I was about 90 lbs and during Stranglehold, standing on the floor in the far back of the arena, my entire body vibrated about 3 feet across the floor, not exaggerating! LOL!
